Great game. I think you really get the essence of the rangers. they are costly but brutal and shoudnt be used as shock against the enemy but as a mobile and very especialized counter against enemy shenanigans, like your bazooka flank on the mortairs and flak, that was the high point. Good use of Arty observers too, they single handed hold the objective with the fear of a barrage against any push, he pratically concede the top to you.
Hey Arthur, appreciate this post, and that was definitely my thinking going into this game and especially considering the urban terrain. Rangers are so deadly that you want to make incursions rather than headstrong engagements like “ shock troops” as you mentioned. They are so costly that it could become very taxing on your economy. I’m still not sure on the timings and the quantity but really enjoying the Ranger unit overall. The Arty observers are also super fun to play with, I love how you could use them to effectively lock down a position for a period of time. It is more tricky to find a good location however than I thought.
hey sarge! that was seriously a tactical masterpiece of a game for sure. the speed and precesion at which you executed that opening play against the top player was scary. Very sick to see you getting this good this fast sarge keep it up my boi
@SargeGG good to talk again my man. Yes I have :) gotta say that costal is becoming a really huge headache with the officer being super strong. How has the indirect been for the new battle group? Have you tried it ?
@@stealthelf12 Yeah, I hear you, the Italian coastal is super strong right now and especially in large team games with the bunker networks haha. Which indirect are you talking about?
@@stealthelf12 Ah yes, the 105mm, I’ve used it once and it is pretty damn strong and especially with the ammo storage. I’m going to play test it some more this week.
hi sarge! put off COH3 since it launched but glad to see it's in a much better place now. kudos to you for your ongoing support and love for the community, can't wait to dabble in the advanced infantry as well haha
Hey OMG, absolutely, really appreciate the kind words. The game is in a better place than ever and I’m very excited for 2024. It’s great to see veteran players of the franchise showing interest and coming back to the game. Let me know if you have any questions!
I just came back to coh3 after going back to coh2 for the passed year. I just a played a game with this bg and had no idea what I was supposed to do with the observers or how the weapon drop was random. Thanks for this video. I'm hooked on coh3 after the updates.
Oh you’re very welcome, love to hear it Misc and welcome back to COH3! The game has improved so much over the past year and is only going to get better throughout 2024. You joined it a good time because the newest update hits next week. How are you enjoying the advance infantry BG so far?
Again another great video!! Very happy i found your channel and discord page!! Did a fantastic job showing and telling what you were doing and why you were doing it!!
@SargeGG So far I have really enjoyed it. I haven't played since it first released so alot has changed and it seems for the better. Now I'm just trying to learn.
@@landonsprinkle515 Oh wow, the update is a major difference for you then. Great call to come back at this time and really glad to hear you’re enjoying the game so far. We need the COH veterans back in the action!
Hello Sarge, Thank you for taking the time to capture/upload the video. Did you have the ability to talk with your random teammates? They must have patched the Riflemen Squad > Ranger conversion because now you need to be double vet to change to them: I didn't notice your Riflemen were double vet at time of conversion. And, thanks for talking through your gameplay; likely distracting for you to do so. But, if you weren't talking to the random teammates, maybe not too bad.
Hey John, yeah this game was played the same week that Rangers were released, so the balance was much different than the current meta. Unfortunately, you don’t have the ability to talk with your random teammates over microphone but that would be really cool. You can only communicate with them through chat, so we cannot hear each other. Since I was playing alone, I took the opportunity to talk through my thought process and share my perspective in the hope of helping new players in the community.
Brit main here. Awesome Ranger build! I’m gonna try switch to USF. Just one note, when upgrading munition upgrade from Inf support center, that doesn’t effect the rangers weapons call in?
Awesome Shiro, let me know how it goes and if you have any questions. And good question, munition surplus does not effect the Ranger weapon call-in so it is still pricey but I like going for the surplus because it opens up your munition economy for all the other abilities.
The new 5 squad blob ability is actually hilarious. I like to use it keep up the pressure when i have to pull my regular units back or to attack when the enemy is repairing
Hi Soldat, great question, yes the artillery observer has an ability where you can speed up the cool down timer on the Radio Beacon from like 45 seconds to 25 seconds or something like that. I didn’t use it in this game but it is very strong.
Great video, thanks for doing a play-by-play! The Benghazi map really looks good with the new graphical update. Looks so gritty! Btw I noticed in all your video's that you usually double or triple click when issuing commands. Is it just habit or is there a deeper explanation behind it? :) And what do you use for controlling the camera? Middle mouse button? In all cases I'm impressed with the speed you demonstrate!
My pleasure, Blackwing! Oh yeah, I agree, Benghazi and the Italian Maps in particular look amazing. It’s a major difference for me personally. I think the desert maps still need a little work, however. Oh, yes, that is definitely a bad habit haha. I would like to become more efficient and get down till like 1 or 2 clicks. I used to play StarCraft competitively and there’s a lot of key spamming, so it may be partially from that. I’m not sure lol. For controlling the camera, I use a combination of the middle mouse button and sometimes the arrow keys. My left hand is generally going back-and-forth across the keyboard, between the hotkey functions for abilities and arrow keys based on the context of the match.
Thanks for answering! Now we just need some sound updates which would improve the immersion even further. I reckon Starcraft 2 habits are hard to recover from :D Those pro players in that game looks absolutely insane when issuing unit commands! Have you experimented with the WASD controls? I would argue that your left hand would be closer to the abilities compared to using the arrow keys. I'm using it at the moment, but thats mostly because it's intuitive when you also play FPS games. @@SargeGG
Hey Duelo, thank you, yeah this style of play is really interesting and tactical. I really like the Rangers quarter combat capabilities and the radio beacon ability to booby trap strategic positions. Happy I was able to use the Rangers to disrupt the enemy in the south behind enemy lines. GG!

How many beacons can that observer scout place? if it is not limit ,no-one would ever pick the ammo cache.
Yeah, exactly, the limit is 3 at any one time. Otherwise, I agree, it would be too strong. It’s very interesting tho.
IMHO the USF- AIB is the better of the new two battlegroups, they just have more umf in them than the costal guards
Yeah, it’s hard to argue against the USF AB and especially in team games. Great options for openings and so many tools at your disposal.

What do the radio becons do exactly?
those beacons can call light artillery barrage in their detection range once in every 45 seconds, so they act as a early warning against enemy pushes
