About to do mine now.....yikesssss I’ll be back with an update later folks IM BACK!! Logged in at 12:40, didn’t actually start till about 13:15. Finished at 4pm including breaks. It’s all done via Zoom, and an assessment tool call Tazio. You need a PC, keyboard & Mouse for Tazio. I had to do the Zoom part via my ipad and the actual assessment on the pc, due to microphone issues. 2x Role plays - Zoom Inmate scenario, actor plays the role. There’s a script to read to give you the scenario, you let them know you’re ready to start and the actor goes straight into character. Written Test - Tazio 40 mins to write a report highlight the issues and give recommendations. Again you are given a scenario document to read, READ IT FULLY! you have 2 questions to answer in 40 mins, no word limit. Just depends how fast you can type. Numerical Test - Tazio Same as the first test previously done, multiple questions, 4 possible answers, 10 mins to do, calculator allowed. Interview - Zoom Strength based questions only. 2 warm up questions, 5-6 questions thereafter. It’s not that difficult , just know you way around the Zoom app & you will be fine. Although it’s virtual, and you are in a group, there is a facilitator always checking in & it went really smoothly. Just makes sure your equipment and WiFi works, pen and a note pad, and your application id number (you’ll find this in the emails) and that’s it! Also make sure you have the ORIGINAL right to work ID DOCUMENTS you uploaded to the justice jobs portal. That’s the first thing they’ll want to check, before you can even start. @@mattd8621 I forgot to add it’s not in that order, I did my role plays first whilst others did their interviews & numerical test. The only thing we done together as a group was the written exercise. Regarding the role plays....yes you are right. It’s very true to a real life prison scenario, swearing, shouting. I’ve previously worked in a prison, so the actors are very good. I corrected one for swearing, simply told them I would not tolerate being spoken to that way, shall we start again? The actor was like ok sorry but..... 😂😂😂

But I cannot stress enough how important it is the read the written test document fully xxx good luck Hun you’ll be fine, anyway if you don’t pass you can always apply again, in 6mths....or apply for an OSG role xx

When I joined in 1975, I applied in may and was working by July, everything was done in one day and you were told there and then if you were in.probably wouldn’t get in under today’s criteria!!

Hi Richard I have a question for you about the prisoner demonstrating threatening behavior. What if it's a similar situation but instead of 1 inmate it's 2 inmates demonstrating threatening behaviors or arguing furiously and on the verge of a physical confrontation for example and you are by yourself trying to de-escalate the situation, do you call for backup immediately or you wait? Thank you in advance!

Don’t bother you won’t like the job and most new guys jack it in after a few months the pay ain’t what it used to be you don’t get to help any inmates most of them are useing spice and out of there nuts all day also due to staffing levels and drastically short staffed most inmates are locked up for 23 hours a day only getting out to go to the hot plate or half hour outside exercise as long as it’s not raining you will be used and abused trust me and the inmates don’t treat you much better unless your going to be a guvnor don’t bother being a prison officer did you know the average life expectancy of a retired prison officer is four years think about that please find another path to go down as being a prison officer is not a good choice

I believe your referring to the test on skyrisecity app? I also only could go as far as the first number on row 4..after 45 mins of trying i gave up n moved on.. however i still was successful enough to move onto the next stage so dont feel stressed about that :)

I passed my online assessment, had it Friday, found out Monday. I applied originally for a specific prison, do you get told if there's any other potions in prisons near your location, if that makes sense ha! If anyone knows that would be great! Mines on a merit campaign mind TIA 😁😁 xx

Hi me again ha! I'm on a merit campaign so I know it's 12 months you wait for a provisional offer but does anyone know if its any earlier. I scored a 68.75% on my PO AC exercises and a 10 on maths. Just wondered if it usually is quite quick! Just so keen to get started ha!
@@happisingh5611 the position I applied for was actually a correctional officer position. I don't know if that's the same as a prison officer where he lives but it was super easy they really only asked me 3 or 4 questions one was talking about my strengths, talking about a time that I had to manage a group of people, and like one or two others I don't remember. I was literally in and out of the room in less than 5 minutes. The wait time was longer than the interview. The questions may not be exactly like the ones he have listed in the video but those are extremely helpful because they let you know how you should structure your answers and things like that
Hello, me again ha! I've had my provisional offer and got a date for my fitness and medical woop! Can anyone tell me exactly what the fitness is. I know there's a bleep test but with regards to the grip test, what is it, what's the weight etc?
Just a quick comment.. these answers are good.. this will help you pass the tests...... then you will go away to train...... then you will enter the establishment......... and THEN you will start learning the job! ''jail craft'' and ''life experience'' is the be all and end all!.......... they are not ''residents'', they are not ''the men''...... they are CONVICTED CRIMINALS! I.E Prisoners, cons, inmates... They lie and intimidate and manipulate.... STAY SAFE!........... The answer about inappropriate comments....... you have obviously never been in a wing office LOL!! XD
Don’t recommend watching this, making a story in your interview might get you through but it won’t help you in the long run. Just go there a do it, it’s an interview if you fail it’s because you are not right for the Job.

I'm terrified now I truly never thought I'd pass any stage test at my age. Just hope I can go all the way and become a prison officer I've looked after people with mental health issues for years under the mental health act and I'm trained in pvma techniques and de-escalation situations but I'm truly terrified waiting for my email for my date. So on my Portal it has said foe a few weeks now that my Pre- Employment checks are ongoing.... then a few days ago it changed to "Your checks are complete etc and it has been referred for a decision". Today it has changed again to "Due to social distancing rules we cannot invite you to an assessment center but we will invite you to a video interview.. Hi Richard Need your suggestion, I applied for the position of correctional officer, i got email to appear for online psychometric test which has like 500 questions all together, the next day got a call to appear for interview either zoom or in person, i went for zoom, appeared for the interview, after the interview, got email in next 2 hours to provide 2 references, asked to fill online application form along with certified copies of identity documents and other mandatory document and to mail them to their address and also got a booking for medical and fitness test. What would probably be the next step. Is it a positive indicator if i clear the medical and fitness test? Thanks

Hi I’ve been told by the host after my assessment 3 days but I’ve still not heard anything when speaking to someone from the site online they said they shouldn’t of told me 3 days as it’s one department that deals with all the assessments across the country for all the prisons so there’s no timescale does anyone know how long it takes to get my results back now at all ? Don’t bother hmp highdown is under staffed most of the inmates are useing spice and out of there heads all day your be doing paperwork all day while most of the inmates are banged up all day trust me the job is shit most of the new guys will jack it in after two months it’s a nasty job and you don’t get to help anyone unless you get them a pack of vapes

I believe you have to be 18 years and older to apply. And I dont think size matter as that would be discriminatory, however you would be required to be in good health and so a fitness test is carried out if you pass the first 2 stages. Hope that answers your question.

i think is not about to unlock, is about how many times you was trying to do that, probably is how perseverance you are.
I used a tool that slowed down javascript applications and got it open LMAO

I passed my online assessment, had it Friday, found out Monday. I applied originally for a specific prison, do you get told if there's any other potions in prisons near your location, if that makes sense ha! If anyone knows that would be great! Mines on a merit campaign mind

I'm on a merit campaign so I know it's 12 months you wait for a provisional offer but does anyone know if its any earlier. I scored a 68.75% on my PO AC exercises and a 10 on maths. Just wondered if it usually is quite quick! Just so keen to get started ha!

@@happisingh5611 the position I applied for was actually a correctional officer position. I don't know if that's the same as a prison officer where he lives but it was super easy they really only asked me 3 or 4 questions one was talking about my strengths, talking about a time that I had to manage a group of people, and like one or two others I don't remember. I was literally in and out of the room in less than 5 minutes. The wait time was longer than the interview. The questions may not be exactly like the ones he have listed in the video but those are extremely helpful because they let you know how you should structure your answers and things like that

Just a quick comment.. these answers are good.. this will help you pass the tests...... then you will go away to train...... then you will enter the establishment......... and THEN you will start learning the job! ''jail craft'' and ''life experience'' is the be all and end all!.......... they are not ''residents'', they are not ''the men''...... they are CONVICTED CRIMINALS! I.E Prisoners, cons, inmates... They lie and intimidate and manipulate.... STAY SAFE!........... The answer about inappropriate comments....... you have obviously never been in a wing office LOL!! XD

Don’t recommend watching this, making a story in your interview might get you through but it won’t help you in the long run. Just go there a do it, it’s an interview if you fail it’s because you are not right for the Job.

How long did it take for you to get offered a position as a PO or you still waiting ?
@Milky Socks hiya it took under 4 months from starting my application to day 1 of being a prison officer. Waiting time also depends on your vetting and the establishment you applied to.
In regards to remaining calm and composed whilst under pressure, does anyone think it's a good idea mentioning raising a family as experience?

I'm terrified now I truly never thought I'd pass any stage test at my age. Just hope I can go all the way and become a prison officer I've looked after people with mental health issues for years under the mental health act and I'm trained in pvma techniques and de-escalation situations but I'm truly terrified waiting for my email for my date. I’ve recently just turned 25 and was surprised to pass the 2 stages too! The Game based assessment was a bit challenging but got the email waiting for email with available dates to to the ARC or VAC test. I’m so nervous. I wish you I the best of luck xx

So on my Portal it has said foe a few weeks now that my Pre- Employment checks are ongoing.... then a few days ago it changed to "Your checks are complete etc and it has been referred for a decision".
Today it has changed again to "Due to social distancing rules we cannot invite you to an assessment center but we will invite you to a video interview.. I have no idea what is going on now.. does anyone know what this means or what part of the application process I am in 🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈🙈

I applied for the position of correctional officer, i got email to appear for online psychometric test which has like 500 questions all together, the next day got a call to appear for interview either zoom or in person, i went for zoom, appeared for the interview, after the interview, got email in next 2 hours to provide 2 references, asked to fill online application form along with certified copies of identity documents and other mandatory document and to mail them to their address and also got a booking for medical and fitness test. What would probably be the next step. Is it a positive indicator if i clear the medical and fitness test?

Hi I’ve been told by the host after my assessment 3 days but I’ve still not heard anything when speaking to someone from the site online they said they shouldn’t of told me 3 days as it’s one department that deals with all the assessments across the country for all the prisons so there’s no timescale does anyone know how long it takes to get my results back now at all ? And btw your videos helped me massively in doing well on the online assessment so thank you

Don’t bother hmp highdown is under staffed most of the inmates are useing spice and out of there heads all day your be doing paperwork all day while most of the inmates are banged up all day trust me the job is shit most of the new guys will jack it in after two months it’s a nasty job and you don’t get to help anyone unless you get them a pack of vapes

Totally threw me off I wasn't expecting such a simple yet complex question 🙃 another was how would you de stress after a bad day on the wings.. How old do you have to be? I’m 17. Does size matter? I’m 6ft, weigh 130 (not obese) and play a lot of sports, mainly rugby.
I believe you have to be 18 years and older to apply. And I dont think size matter as that would be discriminatory, however you would be required to be in good health and so a fitness test is carried out if you pass the first 2 stages. Hope that answers your question.
