Though the insured are supposed to take care of compliance of various things for making claim ,in case of any loss due to any reason ,but the claim disbursal by insurance Companies should be made more friendly to the insured more particularly in cash less claim facility provided ,as insurance Companies initially does not disclose all terms and conditions ,but after getting premium send a detailed terms & conditions ,which are all in their favour .The interest of insured is least protected by insurance companies in India.The insurance Companies charging huge premiums for comprehensive and cash less policies and govt also earning taxes on premium paid ,interest of insured should be tried to be protected in a better manner to avoid further inconvenience to insured ,who have already suffered because of something wrong happening with their vehicle .If there is valid insurance policy then on happening of something wrong with the vehicle ,on calling customer care number and on showing a valid policy and licence ,immediate steps should be taken by Insurance Company to arrange to take the vehicle to authorised workshop to get the necessary work done at the earliest and in the meantime paper formalities should be completed by staff of insurance Company by assisting the insured ,so that the vehicle is delivered back to the insured at his place at the earliest
The insurance Company should have arrangement with workshops to attend to vehicles involved in mishap etc on priority, as compared to vehicles which have voluntarily come to workshop for regular repairs /service etc .
Most of the private insurance companies are also not interested to renew policy of two wheelers ,for which also some thing needs to be done by IRDA etc ,so that the Company which has insured two wheeler at time of purchase contacts the owner of two wheeler well in time for renewal .

You need to check mainly two things before making the claim , First your aprox claim amount after depreciation and policy excess / deductible and amount of NCB which you are going to loose in current renewal and future renewal. If there is considerable deference and you think you should go for claim. In your, this particular case there would be hardly any difference. So don’t claim it.
Further please note whenever you have to claim, never make delay in intimating the claim to insurer else they can deny the claim on account of delay in intimation.
