This is the best review of this laptop so far and so many useful tidbits like screen brightness and quicknote from lockscreen feature. One of my gripes was that the pen could only be stored in the case penholder. Now knowing that there is a more convenient magnetic area on the laptop itself to hold the pen makes it pretty much certain that I'm gonna get this laptop. So happy to be a student in this day and age! I'm just sad that I will no longer be a student and need dual screen laptops a few years down the road when this concept is even more polished.
In my opinion, a Zenbook/ROG duo laptop is a better solution overall till maybe foldable screens become more reliable in laptops. My zenbook pro 14 duo works flawlessly for all situations like taking notes, photoshop at a cafe, meetings with quick references on the bottom screen, and so much more... The best part is that it has a dedicated gpu and cooling like a regular laptop and the wow factor of the secondary display doesn't take away anything from the usability/portability, whereas this one seems like having to make some compromises for the wow factor. Also, if you place the keyboard on the bottom display, the rest of the area is either a screen or a trackpad and since you need a trackpad when you use a laptop on your lap, you are left with only one usable display. There definitely is a lot of room for improvement but we need more brands to push into this segment to innovate new formfactors and to definitely bring the price down
I got the original Yoga Book as well as the sequel the YB930. Both were promising but ultimately flawed - for example with the YB930, the second (eink) screen was just too slow. You couldn't use it for reading epubs, never mind pdfs. This 9i sounds much more promising but I fear it will have too many compromises for that 'One laptop'.
If only they plugged an i9 into it and something a little better than a dumbass intel graphics. I am not buying a laptop for 2 years, im buying one for 6 years. This thing is a pain in the ass 3-4 years from now. Screens getting looser, pc getting slower since it has to separately process 2 screens. 16Gb ram. And man, that intel graphics just cant do enough vram 3 years down the line. This is yet another idea that works awesome the first 6 months and then its a shit show
@@NCXitlali Indeed it has the same working and I wonder how good the hinges will stay if you always put it on the double screen holder. I guess that gives quite a bit of pressure on the hinges, as also my Lenovo Yoga 520 henges get looser after a while.
My workflow pretty much necessitates a two monitor setup. Working when I'm on the road is a challenge because bringing a second monitor is too much of a hassle to make it worthwhile. I can envision this Lenovo as being a great (maybe overkill?) solution. It sure is a sweet looking laptop.
You would still need to carry the keyboard and the case separately, which wouldn't be convenient for you. (Unless you plan to use an on screen keyboard) Even my workflow needs this. It would have been a no brainer if it had dedicated graphics.
Looks amazing. The battery life for 2 OLED screens is crazy good. It looks completely quality. You mention the setup, but I would think for light typing I'd use the screen keyboard then it's a quick setup in a coffee shop not the extended setup. Thank you for doing this review.
For the past three years I have been using a Asus Zenbook Duo for the sole purpose of it's dual screens. Before that, I used to carry around a USB external monitor. Having two screens is infinately better for productivity and it is 100% the first thing I look for these days. This Yoga Book 9i is simply ingenious and it is exactly what I want in a portable computer. I have just ordered one :)
I really like the design and the concept. The lack of ports for an extra screen is a fair trade-off for me personally because I use lots of bluetooth peripherals already. If I my line of work didn't require a high-performance GPU, this would very well be on the top of my list of new and upcoming tech to try out. I don't even mind the setup required with the stand and keyboard I actually kinda like how it looks when it's all put together.

I notice companies are releasing all these crazy multiple/foldable displays only for all physical displays to become obsolete once ar glasses replace them soon. People will basically carry around a phone sized device in their pocket while the glasses provide all the display real estate you could want. the tech is there, just no one has presented it in a great package yet. fingers crossed apple finally announces next month for everyone else to get onboard and move the tech forward.
Already the screens are killing our eyes, having screens almost next to our eyeballs will totally atrophy our eye muscles. There is a reason VR glasses never caught up, many people complain of headaches. When I look at a bigger monitor I move my eyes around, come close to look at something small before I zoom, etc. Your idea in paper looks good but in practice it will not work. Also in an office environment you want to look at the screen and at people around you without taking your glasses off. And I use 6 monitors at home and 4-5 when I travel (laptop + 3-4 portable monitors), the glasses would never be sufficient and I want to choose which screen I will concentrate on, how I am supposed to do this with the glasses?
@@skipper63400 ar is different to vr because it is see through, you can still gaze at your environment and see whats around you. also with ar, you do not have screens burning your eyes, the image is projected on the glass from the sides. totally different tech. I think it's cool but a little too much for my needs. I don't see myself using this on a plane or even a coffee shop. Seems more like it belongs in 2 screen form on my desktop and regular laptop mode everywhere else. In that case I would just get a second monitor. Instead for $690 I purchased the ZenBook duo and I love it. Two screens all the time while still keeping a usable laptop form factor. Having a second screen is fantastic but I don't need a second full screen. But I can see how this could be perfect for some.
Most people: 2 screens would be awesome. Me: I can use this with a 14" lapdock and have 3 screens, a real keyboard, and not rely on Bluetooth. I only wish a major company would release a lapdock so the build quality could improve over the current offerings. Using a lapdock with a tablet subverts expectation. People think you are using a portable monitor but the "brain" is actually the slate and the clamshell is the dumb accessory.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M I got it from Amazon. It's some random 14" with a battery and touchscreen. It works fine but the build quality could be so much better. Especially the trackpad.
laptop of the future. wish no henge in the middle, like the Huawei mate, open into a full piece of paper, full liquid rollable, slide out rollable keyboard.
too bad that the price is like 2 laptops. 2500€. i like the two screens but 100% more price does not make sense. I'd like it to be 50% more expensive or 60% not 100%
So people laughed at LG's detachable Dual Screen case for their V50/G8X/V60/Velvet flagship smartphone because foldable screen smartphones is "better" (which always never has been at all), and yet overwhelming praise this thing? My goodness, such hypocrisy from the so-called "techies" and "enthusiasts".

It might be an upgrade from Yoga Book (Android & Windows) from 2016
how does it beat an pc / Mac connected to a portable monitor?
Can I use a Bluetooth headphone simultaneously with a Bluetooth keyboard?
If you upgrade to Windows 11 23H2 or Windows 12, will it break the built-in customizations on this unit? Thanks.
What lapdock do you use?
@@PSYCHOV3N0M I got it from Amazon. It's some random 14" with a battery and touchscreen. It works fine but the build quality could be so much better. Especially the trackpad.
One problem ony, it costs almost 2700 euros in the EU... That is more than a salary after tax...
Is the anti-glare coating good?
Do I need it? No. Am I probably going to buy it? Absolutely
😂
Gimme 120 Hz adaptive refresh rates and apple silicon grade processor efficiency, and it will be my dream laptop. Maybe in a generation or two.
I dont get it.
Why do you need a virtual trackpad when it is a touch screen?
The guy knows tech AND does his own taxes? color me impressed xD
haha i don't mess around!
please lenovo make a monitor only version of this PLEASEE!!!!!!
That would be cool!
Looks like an extremely refined version of the intel honeycomb glacier laptop prototype.
Where can buy it?
Does it have an SD card slot? 5G?
Would appreciate if you can compare this with Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED.
Can I connect it to an Oled c2?
Awesome video. Did anyone ever tell you that you look and sound a lot like Ryan Reynolds?
Love it but need discreet graphics. Still...a mouthwatering laptop.
No audio jack, no deal. Also watch out for quality control issues.
will it work with Linux/Ubuntu?
can it turn 360 degree ?
laptop of the future. wish no henge in the middle, like the Huawei mate, open into a full piece of paper, full liquid rollable, slide out rollable keyboard.
Need footage of it running Linux and features still working
Super cool but no headphone jack 😢
Hi. I have bought this pc for use in day trading. I haven’t received it yet but I’m excited too try it out in live trading.
what if they used ryzen 7736u in this one?
I need that equipment for my 2d animation workflow.
too bad that the price is like 2 laptops. 2500€. i like the two screens but 100% more price does not make sense. I'd like it to be 50% more expensive or 60% not 100%
i cant find the buy link for this device, anyone?
It's not out until June
@@MatthewMoniz thanks!
Can we use surface pen with it?
I have one and use the surface pen without any issues.
Audio jack?! What is this, 1960?!?
So people laughed at LG's detachable Dual Screen case for their V50/G8X/V60/Velvet flagship smartphone because foldable screen smartphones is "better" (which always never has been at all), and yet overwhelming praise this thing? My goodness, such hypocrisy from the so-called "techies" and "enthusiasts".
