I just came back from my Bali trip and I also went to Nusa Penida for two days. My serious advice: Try to explore the island via a Taxi. Riding scooty is not that safe in Nusa Penida, the roads are not that good and winding, feels like you are riding on a hill and there are no street lights. If you planning to cover 3-4 places in a day on Nusa Penida like kelingkin beach , broken beach, sunset at Crystal Beach etc, it would be night by the time you would be returning and it is not advisable to ride scooty under those conditions in NUsa Pendia , especialy if your Hotel is bit far. If your budget approves, hire a taxi , ( we got a taxi for 2500 INR ) for whole day and we covered all the major places in Nusa Penida on West caost , the driver will take good photos of you as well and act as a guide too. :)
Totally agree with you. I had gotten lost in the night and there were no street lights and no people on the street so it was pretty scary but since I travel a lot I didn’t get scared but I can totally understand a first time traveller getting worried about this.
I was last week in Bali, I agree with you taxi is best 2 wheeler is risky, roads are not that good to ride plus not safe. Broken Beach route is very bad.
An international license would be better but if you don’t have one they don’t really ask. It’s totally up to you. I didn’t have one and no one stoped me.
The person or the agency through whom you booked the taxi to sanor port, who was actually helping you with the tickets..can you share the contact details? Plus if we donot book tickets online from sanor to nusa penida are we gonna get tickets offline? (we are going in october)
Bro you are the best travel blogger
welcome
Is booking a local tour provider or cabs associated with hotels a cheaper alternative than booking packages from India
