Hi Tori and thanks for sharing ...I came across one of your other videos and like what your sharing .... first thing l do is look at a daily time from for direction as crude oil has been on a down channel and now has broken that resistance trendline and has been retesting that resistance now support level and has now created a new down channel i have a down target at 61.45 i to trade trendline and support and resistance levels and i use josh martinez fibs on the daily for the main target and then i just trade all the way to the main target on a smaller timeframe hes fibs are the best in the world hands down and Tori you look marvelous!!!
I just checked out Topstep Trader. At the end of the year they send out a 1099 NEC. This is Non-Employee compensation. Following is how it is handled:
When you receive form 1099-NEC, it typically means you are self-employed and claim your income and deductions on your Schedule C, which you use to calculate your net profits from self-employment. As a self-employed person, you're required to report all of your self-employment income.Dec 8, 2022. (Last post concerning this issue. Hope it helps some understand the downside of funded accounts)

I drift towards going short also. I figure its in my nature because I am a skeptic, things can't be "that" good. Gap ups on news, news that is not all that wonderful to justify the gap are my favorite shorts. This skepticism goes against me when the trend is up and I do not accept it. I've just recently become consistently profitable in my trading, but perhaps I should use your approach to break my bias to short by only going long for a certain period of time. Just found your channel last night, look forward to watching old and new vids.
This level of self awareness shows how far youve come as a trader. As someone still learning alot, i respect the personal insight and explanation. I am fully aware of bias although the psyche behind it drew me today. I had a week where i doubled my account with a 20% loss rate mostly based in compounded entries and using a new entry stop as a buffer. That said the very next week i lost 90% of those profits in a long drawn out grind across several trades.
I knew i wasnt over trading and i had more than enough profitable trades to k ow i was doing something wrong. Id have days of only 10 winning trades if not 2 loss days the week prior. I realized the following week my bias was eating me up and my worst ha it was holding a trade in favor of my bias. I held 3 trades that ate 20% of my account and had nothing but majoirty bad entries from bias.
Visually i am also a down trader. Im cautious and negative about the world and always expecting good things to end. I always say things are overbought on nas because it jolts upward often but dips hard consistently in a more sensical way. Ive realized my biggest gap trading nas is not respecting it as an uptrend that people will always force up and no method can out predict its constant up movement. The week i lost 90% was a new high up on nas and it made a new high every other day.
I can safely say the main pattern i fell victim too was Vs. Starts high and dips on open alot then only 1 hour late a sharp pullback. Thw whole logic of pullbacks is to trade the lower lows or higher highs. Id try and adjust trading the v middle, the first pullback up, and even the 2nd. Each day was like a trap because no matter what those Vs would pullback then shoot upward randomly no matter how clear the pattern looked to be a pullback to the downside. The days i lost id hold on the pullbacks because id get stopped constantly from wide movement stops before making hardly %.5 gains for fear of a sudden break which did save me overall. The V pattern with pullbacks midways being a followup to stubborn bias against it is the perfect fakeout to deal with someones bias. Got humbled quick.
Ive slowed down for a week and gotten to see other traders struggle with the week as well so it isnt just me, the real culrpit being 30 point candles in v shape pattern and they tend to reset when they look to go one way. I stopped myself today on a small gain realizing i still had a bias and i almost expanded my lsot a small bit for it knowing today was still jolting up randomly. Again the chart was at a high and it made since to drop but...its the nas.
Took my profit and stopped deciding to backtest and evalute my psyche. I see my bias in action now to adjust. I do feel psychology is the most important part lf trading.
Pretty fire advice I will say, I trade very unique and it works for me. Others find that moving averages work for them yet i hate them haha

Your strategy sums all traders strategies basically.
Keeping things Simple in Trading is the Golden rule.
For your TP and SL, you'll start using the Short/Long Tool in trading view you'll notice why you've been consistently profitable is cos your Risk Reward Ratio is consistently above 1:1. That tool shows the R:R of each trade. Once again, weldone
Found and watched this! I appreciate seeing your use of trend lines... I'm still learning about the various tools and indicators. Currently looking at ema, vwap and now learning rsi & macd. I'll look at the trend line approach more closely going forward - I assume you find it reliable? Do you favor any others?
Nothing is as reliable as price. The best indicator is price and order flow. All indicators are lagging data.

Stop trade on trendline, the smart money know where your stop are, go to Inner circle trader channel and Alex's Option (maybe better to beginnin)
If you use TradingView with tradestation then you can utilize Mac. Using TS on TV is better than using Tradovate on TV due to bracket sliders. So if margins aren’t an issue TS on TV

I do my analysis on multiple time frames but entries are always on the 1hr

If you hold ctrl it allows you to lock on to specific points in order to place your ray or trend lines better. Holding shift allows you to stretch a flat trend line without the horizontal height changing.

There is a trade off with funded accounts. You can at some point get funded (if you can prove yourself). Your income will be reported in the form of a 1099 which is earned income. It is subject to self-employment tax and short term capital gains tax. However, if you claim investor status instead by using your own money, then you will not be taxed the +15% self-employment tax plus the first 60% of your gains will be taxed at the long term capital gain rate and 40% at short term rate. If you plan on losing for decades, by all means claim the trader status so you can deduct all of your losses. If you set up your trading business to win, choose the investor status and you can still write off 3k in losses per year. This concerns futures and am not referring to stocks. "I am not a professional tax accountant, so do your own due diligence".

Here is what is available online regarding income from Prop Firms:
Profitable independent contractor (IC) proprietary traders receive a 1099-MISC for “non-employee compensation.” Sole proprietors use a Schedule C to report fee revenue and deduct their business expenses, including home-office deductions, if they qualify. Schedule C net income is subject to federal and state income taxes…That net income is deemed “earned income” subject to the self-employment (SE) tax. They can deduct health insurance and retirement plan deductions.

Since you trade futures, why did you chose ActiveTrades? If im not mistaken, Ninjatrader offers better fees and comisions. Is there a reason for that or it's because of the platform (NT8 is horrible).

I lost some trades due to bias. I "just knew" it was going the other way, even though it wasn't. I couldn't believe my eyes and the chart. Maybe it was due to overthinking and analysis? I became convinced that the price should go a certain way and kept entering trades in that direction. Should have known better. Oh well. "Nobody perfect."

The more i watched the more i realized u trade similar to how i do. Futures nas no indicators supply demamd/support resistaince emphasizing zones or key levels. Es has provem to be a good indicator for the nas for me. Do you have a course or 1on1 session. Your input sounds like itd be enlightning.
The closest trader to me ive found is doyal the exchange. I watch trades by matt because he trades what i do. I have bought day trading addicts course and support his info as an exp trader. I fully reccomend karen foo as a overall teacher and pschology specialist. So far your explanations are very in the moment relatable. Great vid.
Most of those that criticise, definitely don't make a living from trading. A simple and easily repeatable strategy is a sign of an experienced and consistent trader. IMO

Upward movement is driven by greed. Downward movement is driven by fear.
This is why bull moves seem to climb stairs in carefully measured steps and why bear moves seem to fall off a cliff.

The bottom line is if you want the most favorable tax status, do not consider your trading a business and claim trader status. Be an investor (trade futures) and save about 20% on your taxes. See IRS 1265 and 8671

When trendlkne trading. God knows if that crap works u better go for a better risk to reward than 1-1 like that last trade you explained on gold. Stoploss was very high en take profit about the same distance. As a trendline trader u get alot of fake signals and fake breakouts. You r winrate wont be 50%. Trendline trading is very simple yes but very tricky. Certainly when you do it not waiting for a pullback. I can open any chart, draw trendlines and see constant fakeouts.

@@memyselfandi201 The market is random,no rules are being fulfilled. I've been studying trading for over 3 years and believe me - trend lines are not the way. A market structure can break an uptrend giving all the signals in your mind that it will go down and it doesn't. It shoots back up or it ranges. She was asked once what kind of futures she trades and she didn't have a clue what to answer. She thought that futures are only oil. Not trying to be hateful or anything. She might believe what she's talking about,but it's a no from me. Expect people expressing their opinions, nothing bad in freedom of speach.
@VANGELOV Vangelov I certainly understand what you mean. I'm pretty sure that trend lines can't be the solution for the whole market. For example, if one is trading, crypto will end up blowing accounts for sure. Her strategy works mainly with futures, I believe. She always keeps saying elementary about her strategy. She's not trying to impress anyone or make us buy anything. As a trading community, we need to be happy to have her. She's lovely and well mannered.
