Hm, I might do that. Until then I can write down a quick overview right now: 1. Finding a song that would make a good 8 bit rendition (power / speed metal is almost always a good choice ) 2. Finding notes, tabs or midi for it 3. If there is none or incomplete versions availiable I create them (if I am able to) or add to them 4. Creating an FL-Studio project using the midi 5. Setting up every instrument to make it sound like output from an '8 bit' soundchip. I use 'magical8bit' VST plugin for pulse, square, triangle and noise channel like sounds, for drums I use a synth drum plugin called drumaxx. I've set up 16 different drumpad configs that each represent a part of a drum kit 6. All vibrato and pitch effects are lost when I import the midi so I add those to each instrument again by modifying the channel pitch where I want to. 7. Mixing the song using a bunch of effect-plugins, limiters, compressors and wave-shapers to add clearity / saturation. There are a lot of mixing tutorials here on youtube, one could make a whole tutorial series about that alone 8. Exporting the final song, doing quick mastering using audacity 9. Creating the video by using ZGameEditor Visualizer which is also part of FL-Studio
