I remember when I was little, about 6-12 the first thing I wanted to do was go on top deck and see what other ships were in port, then when I was a bit older 13-20 all I wanted to do was go to the nearest bar and start drinking, now that I’m 21 I just end up going to the cabin immediately and start unpacking and settling in, how times have changed 😂
What a MOOD. But for real! I try to get pictures of all public spaces without people in them, grab a drink, and wait for the Room Ready announcement! All I want is sailaway and settling in!
Hi Lucy, I found you by watching Tony's interview from La Lido Loca with you and was captivated. I look forward to watching your content! My hat's off to you, as I could never work 9 months in a row without a day off!
The safest water is the hot water. This is available night and day at any self-service beverage station, in the Buffet Restaurant, in the Main Dining Rooms, with room service, and on demand otherwise. No charge (whilst bottled water and other cold beverages are at extra prices). Warm is better for health and circulation than cold.
In about an hour and a half, a car service will be coming to take me to the airport where I'll get on a flight to Cape Town, there to board the Seabourn Sojourn for a 22 day cruise up the west coast of Africa.
Hi Lucy! Thank you for another great video. In exactly 1 month’s time I’m going on a 3 night cruise from Port Everglades (Miami) with Royal Caribbean on Liberty of the Seas, visiting Nassau and Perfect Day @ Coco Cay. Never been to these places before and really looking forward to it ❤
Great advice all around! We always keep an eye out for any checked luggage also. They are pretty efficient and we usually gets our fairly quickly. Our cabin got changed at check-in once so our bags had the wrong cabin number. I went to the "old" cabin and saw our luggage near the elevator, as they were getting ready to find out where to deliver it. My husband was surprised when I came back to the cabin with our three bags being carried by three porters!
We have 3 cruises booked this year, all with Disney. Doing the Dream 2/6, the Treasure 5/10, and the Fantasy out of Southampton on 9/1, going to Amsterdam, Belgium, Norway, and Sweden. First time going to the UK.
We booked everything when we booked our cruise and oddly, we went to everything and enjoyed every minute. (It was our first cruise). Can't wait for my second.
Disney still require everyone to attend the mass muster. They went virtual after the CIVD shutdown but then reverted to in-person as "People were not completing the process".
I'm going on 4 B2B transatlantic to Mediterranean then flying to alondon for a week and returning on Queen Mary 2. Having health issues...so all is God willing
Ive only been on one cruise for my parents 50th anniversary on the liberty of the seas. we had a great time we share the presidential suit with my parents my sisters and their SO plus my wife and I
This worked for me Oct 2023 when I was on the MSC Virtuosa at Southampton and all the passengers were embarking on the same day. Although I had purchased tickets (at a discounted price) for the premium shows and thermal area before the cruise it was not possible to book times slots until onboard. Still, I was able to book further thermal area slots later on, but only for less popular times. However, last year I sailed with MSC on the Splendida from Genoa and things were different. Passengers were embarking and disembarking at every port. Luckily for me the ship was not full so it did not matter, but might have been a problem if the ship had been fuller. Where this all falls down is when given an afternoon timeslot to embark, for instance a 3pm slot as some passengers can get. (Same applies with booking tables at premium restuarants)
Hi Lucy 👋. Thanks for the heads up on checking reservations once onboard. About to do our first big ship cruise on the Quantum of the Seas here in Australia from Brisbane in 6 weeks time. 2 weeks round trip to New Zealand & we have made bookings on the App but will now double check on embarkation day. Love your channel..🩵
Last month I found out airplane mode isn't just for a cruise. Went to St Thomas and one day did a catamaran excursion. At some point our phones got a ping off a BVI cell tower and it cost $20 for international roaming.
Thanks for the great advice. We are booked for our first cruise at the end of February. We are going to Costa Maya, Cancun and Belize on the Celebrity Constellation.
If you are on an older ship the WiFi won't make it into your room because the hotspots are in the hallway and the cabin walls and doors are metal (for fire safety). We were on Navigator of the Seas and the internet would make it up from Germany to a satellite, from satellite to satellite via lasers, back down to a moving ship in the Mediterranean, then down to our deck and that's it! But... If we propped the door open with a tissue box or chair it worked perfectly.
Hi Lucy reference the water situation I’ve drank the water from the tap and not had a problem so why do you say not to ? Also if it’s not drinkable why are there no signs to say “Do Not Drink “ 🤔 Loving your vlogs
Going on my 6th P&O cruise (started cruising 2 years ago) to the Caribbean next week. Also got a cruise to Japan booked for Sept. Never been on NCL before, any pointers?
Even though there's nothing in your room to steal, that doesn't make me comfortable with strangers getting in my room after it was turned around and before I get there. A stalker could find your cabin (maybe they saw you drop off your luggage and saw your tags) and hide cameras. I've had it that people accidentally got their room wrong, and didn't read the key card and were in my room. I forgot how we actually got in but they'd started rearranging the room. I'd prefer them to give me my card at embarkation.
@patrickwyatt1641 they just need to see drop off your luggage and glance at you luggage tags. I'm not an attractive woman, so I don't need to worry, but stalkers can be very motivated.
I drink the water from the tap on cruise ships all the time. It hasn't killed me yet. I think I missed a video from you discussing why this is the worst thing in the world. Can you point me to it? Thanks.
Did she say the water from the cabin is the worst ? From what I’ve heard, all of the water on ship is filtered. My wife still won’t drink it lol😂. She doesn’t drink tap water off ship either.
The water on ships is made from desalinated sea water with appropriate minerals added back in. It’s safe and better than many municipal water sources. Plenty of bottled water is taken from municipal supplies as well, so there’s nothing special about it unless it’s from a mineral pool in Switzerland or wherever.
We booked Princess Premier on Discovery Princess departing Feb 22. We can’t get any decent specialty dining reservations before we board. I think it’s a scam or huge waste of money.
A dream come true, an epic winter vacation for me is coming up four weeks from now. First there is a loooong flight from Helsinki to Dallas and connecting flight from Dallas To Miami. Travel time is about 18 hours!😱 Night at a hotel in Miami and the next day "Freedom of the seas" sets sail from Ford Lauderdale.🛳 To put the price of the vacation in perspective, a bus from Valkeakoski where I live to Helsinki and back plus round trip flights to Miami and the hotel have costed double the price of the cruise. I do hope it is going To be worth it.

13-20 all you wanted to do was start drinking?! Wow that’s sad as a teenager
@@christyg1236 well yeah, after a long day or travelling what’s wrong with being gasping for air drink lol?
@@AcerDyanat 13!!??
@ yeah? I’m a teenager?
Fantastic advice! Embarked yesterday and this was the best advice. Thanks so much!
Nothing is wrong with the tap water. It’s safe to drink. I’m sure it’s the same water you get in the buffet.
Hi Lucy, I found you by watching Tony's interview from La Lido Loca with you and was captivated. I look forward to watching your content! My hat's off to you, as I could never work 9 months in a row without a day off!
"Have a nose around" (Your room). I love your way with words, it's that wonderful English way of description. BTW, Lucy, looking stunning, as usual.
Muster station.. is Very important to check in soon as you get on Carnival...
Fantastic tips, especially checking that everything in the room works. Thank you
This is the first time I have heard that you shouldn't drink the tap water. All other sources say it's fine.
I drink the water on the ship all the time, still alive and kicking. I don't pay for water
It’s all filtered, it’s fine to drink.
