    Everytime i experience a linear game like this, i wonder why open World games are so popular. This game is packed with atmosphere, exploration, action, horror, puzzles, shooting , resource management, and tells an interesting story on top of all that.... I wonder why people keep demanding open world games with a length of 270 hours where you keep doing the exact same thing over and over again.
    My only complain about this game is UE5, they really should stop building games in this engine until it has the bare minimum of optimization.

  • @30fpsguy

    Most stutter issues can be solved by using a Vulkan mod. Though it will have some graphical glitches like reflection flickering, and missing shadows in interior areas (apartment and hospital).
    If you're willing to sacrifice visual presentation for more smoother gameplay and less stutter while waiting for a patch to fix the issue, go for Vulkan mod.

  • @ShFred
    @ShFred 5 дней назад +2

    Within advanced graphics settings, there's another option for the resolution scaling.
    You might want to look into it since I couldn't notice a significant change in performance, but it allowed me to increase the scaling to 150% while dropping to the performance preset on DLSS for a little gain.
    Also I tried playing on DX11 to try and remedy the stutters and while it did work to some extent, there are still some stutters when entering new enviornments (Screw UE5!).
    On the upside, the visual quality is about the same and where I had around 90 unstable FPS WITH frame-gen outside on the streets, I now have 90-100 somewhat stable FPS inside the apartments and the reception area, WITHOUT frame-gen!
    There's something horribly wrong with this engine and the optimization here.

    The problem with the game is that most of the solutions I see are just reducing the quality, such as using dx11 and vulkan. Frankly, I don't like playing with these because they distort the quality greatly. I have high specifications and I face some light stuttering, but in the end, I'm not the only one who faces these stuttering, everyone does. I hate Unreal 5 on the PC. It's very bad on the PC. I don't know why they don't fix it. Damn them.

  • @justsam100
    @justsam100 3 месяца назад +1

    If you're trying to get the best 60+ fps config for a high end gpu without sacrificing any visuals at all, setting shadows to medium is the best thing to do. Second best would be to force a slightly lower draw distance in the engine.ini file and third best is setting the shaders to medium, although the difference is kinda visible at that point.

    I love how this game still scares me even finishing it for 5 times now, and it only got 2 true jumpscares! for a a whole 20h from beginning to end! just freakin 2! it really scares me the whole game, not just in a moment but the whole game xD

  • @DMS_134
    @DMS_134 3 месяца назад +3

    It's very hard to give up shadows on low, cuz the jump in performance is just too big. Since I only have a 6600, I ended up just playing at 30 locked with a mix of medium and high, and even at 1080p TSR medium, so below native, sometimes performance in late game (apartments and later drop below 30, specially in weird areas like the pool in apartments). I also found that lightning internal areas are really jarring without lumen RT, specially in the very early game, when you're exploring stores, and you don't have a flashlight. Like, they should've just manually tweaked some areas, cuz it goes from extremely dark with RT off, to the point I thought something was going wrong with my TV, to looking like they should with RT on.
    I also ended up just using DX11 and TSR medium. That gave me some 5-7 fps more. Not sure what is being turned off in DX11 tho, if any, but late game is so dark I found hard to pinpoint these things.

    • @MrSiloterio
      @MrSiloterio  3 месяца назад

      @DMS_134 no shame in locking the fps to 30 if it's more stable. For dx11, software lumen raytracing is completely disabled as raytracing is only suppored by dx12

    • @MrSiloterio
      @MrSiloterio  2 месяца назад +1

      @ that is absolutely correct. It’s better of going 1440p and use dlss quality. The silver bullet for our performance is actually using the dlss to fsr frame gen mod. Turn everything to epic preset, enable dlss quality, and just enable frame gen. It solves the 60 fps drops in the most intensive sections in the game for me.
      There’s an input delay but it’s more tolerable than seeing frame rate drops without frame gen.

    • @MrSiloterio
      @MrSiloterio  3 месяца назад +2

      @Edmundostudios that really depends on your specs. For me it's a huge gap between ps5 as quality mode on there is 1440p without ray tracing and it's locked at 30 fps with drops below that on some scenes.

Raytracing taking away a solid chunk of FPS for not so much benefits, a lot of raytracing light leaking ruining the scenes completely cause of further light propagation and bounces. I am overal quite dissapointed but not surprised. I've refunded this Unreal slop and would be sticking to good old Enhanced Edition.
