    I was 43 years old had only heard of MJ and had no idea of the talent I was about to see. I was on Colorado Make a Wish Foundation and a young boy from California had a dying wish to see MJ. Reluctantly I went with the boy and his family and we were in about the 10 row. Pepsi (I think was the sponsor) treated us like royalty. What an experience. I became a fan of the courageous young boy and MJ had a 43 year old fan. What a night.

      That's a beautiful anecdote sir. Thank you for sharing. I wasn't even born in 1984 but it is nice to hear from someone who was actually there :)

      Than you for the kind words. Too often YOUNG people think the elderly are idiots. They forget we were young once....again the " anecdote " comment was truly appreciated. I hope your generation has an entertainer with 1/2 the talent of this MJ. I frequently look at youtube a watch Billie Jean and Thriller.

    • @SrananKing
      @SrananKing 10 лет назад +34

      *****
      You're welcome sir. I may only be in my twenties but I damn well know how to respect my elders. To be honest I will rather listen to music from the 50's - 90's than anything most people my age listen to. And I know we will never have an entertainer quite like MJ. He may have ''only'' been a pop artist but he took it to the stratosphere. He was larger than life and I wish I could've had the opportunity to watch him perform live. You are very lucky to have witnessed this show. God bless you sir.

      ***** Yes is was 1984,,,,,,,Can any of you youngsters name an entertainer as good as MJ, or even an Elvis. Such talent that died from drugs. What a shame.

    • @capobandz8287
      @capobandz8287 9 лет назад +15

      ***** Michael didn't have a drug problem. He was murdered and Conrad was the fall guy. Sony ,Hollywood, and AEG had soo much to gain from his death.

      SwingRiots actually he was lipsyncing during this era .. Motown 25 Billie Jean but as far as tours he started lipsyncing during second leg of dangerous tour .. coincidentally he was charged with child molestation at that time .. would you wanna sing period with those type of allegations on you.

    • @SwingRiots
      @SwingRiots 7 лет назад +22

      agentx0126 Motown 25 was a TV performance and doesn't count as a live concert appearance. Victory tour was live. He lip synched a fair amount on the 2nd leg of the Bad Tour (Smooth Criminal, Bad, TWYMMF, Man In The Mirror).
      And he was touring Dangerous for about a year before the charges and he was still lip syching, so that renders that excuse as an entirely moot load of crap that you just pulled out of your arse.

    I always have to remind people that MJ didnt dump his brothers....MJ was progressing as a visionary solo artist & totally wanted to separate himself which is understandable when you been with your brothers for most of your career...I love the fact even more that he did the tour for all 6 of them to have closure....there was all these bullshit rumors about infighting and tension & it wasnt true..MJ even says in his book that they playing pranks & having extreme fun on the Victory tour

    I was only 8 years old and lived blocks away from the mile high stadium. We were playing outside that night and I just starred at the lights coming out of the mile high just wanting to be there at the concert. I wanted a red jacket like michael so bad that year!. Great memories.

    I saw this concert in Chicago. I've seen him at least 4 times. This is the Michael Jackson I know!!!! No lip synching!!! Pure Michael!!! BTW.....it wasn't that Michael didn't want to do concert with his brothers.....it was Don King that he didn't want to do the concert. He was charging astronomical numbers that people couldn't afford....so Michael said that he would pull out if things didn't change. And he thought Don was a snake. He's right. 💯

    • @johnsonzz-jw3oz
      @johnsonzz-jw3oz 8 лет назад +13

      You are so right! I remember all the drama that Don King was causing with the whole ticket situation...it was a mess! lol But I did get to see the Victory Tour in Philadelphia, and it was a great tour. I have also seen the brothers a few times since Mike's passing, and they still put on a great show.

      Drummer John "Sugarfoot" Moffett is a monster. And he was the first professional drummer that has been generally credited with inventing those single hand cymbal chokes (that everyone and their brother does now) on this tour. People saw this shit and couldn't believe what they were seeing. But he did it.

    yep and that's not true at all so thank God you said allegedly...MJ didnt want to do the tour originally because he was ready to move on in full solo confidence & really plan a serious tour but his managers feared that if he didn't move on the momentum "Thriller" had thanks to Motown 25 (which he didnt want to do either & wouldve been a big mistake)...with no real serious time, The Victory Tour was a revamp of the "Triumph Tour" with a few new songs

    Don't believe what's written about the Victory Tour because it's a general misconception. INITIALLY he didn't want to do the album/tour because it would distract from his solo endeavors and Thriller's sales at the time. But if you know Michael he can't turn down the stage.

They know he was soft so they hurt his feelings every chance they could get. He cringed just being around they hating ass.

    This tour was absolutely bananas! Loved it. Great seeing footage of it since it's so rare. I hope it doesn't get remeoved. Most of the footage I've seen from this tour doesn't seem to last long on youtube. I'm guessing they plan to release a specail edition DVD when the time is right. (unless they have and I just missed it?) Brilliant marketing as usual... And if they do, YES, I'll buy it! Haha!

    Omg, thank you! I was 12 and lived just 60 miles away and didn't get to go. :( I sat there by my window crying my eyes out both nights. Wow, do you have more of this show then? And I don't suppose you have anything from the Bad Tour at McNichols in 1988, do you? Even a poor quality news report would be amazing! *just hoping* ;)
