So glad to see another fan. I have never been able to keep my Starbase from getting destroyed on any difficulty! But those Krylon bastards (almost) always pay for their barbarism!
Great video! This game is really scary and realistic. If there was a star battle it would probably be a lot like this. Or maybe not hahaha. I do think this is a cool game but the enemies seem kinda too hard to hit, everytime I destroy one it feels like luck. And those annoying pizza-looking meteorites... I saw the computer version and it looks much more advanced. I think I'd like to try that one out one day.
Do I absolutely need the keypad to play? Because I recently found a 2600 at a old friends house and bought it and it came with a star raiders cartridge and I can’t figure out how to start the game I don’t have the keypad
The Atari 2600 version requires the keypad. It activates the map, hyperwarp, computers and shields. The 5200 and computer versions to not as the 5300 controller has a built in pad, and the 8 bit computers...well, they have full keyboards.
@@yalondaparker8377 Ah hah! That is the problem. I personally use Stella on my windows PC. However, if you are using something like Chromebook, I can see why you would use something like Javatari. From the settings, it appears that the keypad isn't supported, which makes Star Raiders unplayable. I'd suggest looking for an alternative method to play the game. Unfortunately, I can't supply links to assist with that.

Great Video! Amazing to see someone so excited about a game like this! :D Keep it up!

I have a question, I am playing on the pc and cannot toggle back and forth from the map grid screen
Which emulator are you using? And, did you map the 2600 keypad?
@@NotesandNerds Javatari, but which key do I press on my keyboard to get to the main screen?

@@yalondaparker8377 One thing that I believe I can recommend is searching on Archive.org. That may prove helpful.
Is a different controlo to play this game
Does the game have any value 🤔
Loose copies go for $5
Krylons, not Xylons nor Cylons.
Wow. I totally missed that mistake! Thanks. Honestly, I have referred to them as Xylons for so long.
Doesn't help that Solaris refers to them as Zylons. That is most likely where I got the two crossed.
@@NotesandNerds Life goes on! :)
