@@raymondwoodard6779 John's vocals on "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" along with Daryl's are top notch...a cover song that's just as good as the Righteous Brothers' original. It launched Hall & Oates into the 80s.
I remember listening to this growing up on the radio as my mom would drive us to go shopping back in 2005 & 2006. They would play it on B98.5 in Atlanta as a classic, but now that memory itself is a classic, too. John did his thing in 1981 & 1982! 40 years onwards and it still sounds iconic and gives me nostalgia and I wasn't even brought up then! Great reaction video.
*Daryl Hall on lead vocals and keyboards. *John Oates on backing vocals and guitar *Charles DeChant on Saxophone (DeChant played Sax on several Hall & Oates songs, and has also toured with several other major acts)
Keep going down that Hall & Oates rabbit hole!!... You're just scratching the surface. So many great songs like 'One on One' 'She's Gone' 'Kiss On My List' and 'You Make My Dreams Come True'...just to name a few!!
"She's gone' "Sara smile" "Rich girl" "You make my dreams" "Kiss on my list" "Private Eyes" "Say it isn't so" "Adult Education" "Everything your heart desires" "Don't hold back your love" and many more by them
"Your Imagination", "Unguarded Minute", "Beanie G & The Rose Tattoo", "Is It A Star", "Back Together Again", the original version of "Everytime You Go Away", "Family Man"...
I love watching the younger crowd enjoy the 80s music. It was the *BEST* time to be alive for music. It's just nice to see the younger kids expand their horizons. Great reaction 👍
You guys are always awesome. Go down the Hall &Oates rabbit hole. Darryl s vocals are irracipable and John Oates is his partner for years. So many hits "Sarah Smile" "Maneater " soo many other
CLASSIC ! and Hall & Oates is what they call "Blue Eyed Soul" from PHILLY !..They are the Top Selling Dou of all time in the 1980's on the BILLBOARD Charts. I saw them LIVE and they were incredible !
They were also both in the awe Are the World video, which I’m pretty sure ya’ll have reacted to. Darryl Hall had a solo spot: ‘🎶It’s true we make a better day, jus you & me..’. About 10 yrs ago, D. Hall also had sessions @ his home soundstage collaborating with artists of varied styles like, O’Jays, Cee Lo Green, & Smokey Robinson. It started as an internet thing, & became a t.v. show. You can see some of them on RUclips. They would do songs of his & the guests’ artist, taking turns singing lead. Pretty cool!
You have to see Cee Lo Green at Daryl's House doing this song. It will blow you away. Daryl is the blonde in this video and he has guests at his house to jam with him. The video with Cee Lo is incredible. Great reaction to a great song. Cheers from Canada
Daryl is the lead, blue eyed soul singer and John is shorter, dark head, lead guitar and background vocal. The guy on sax was part of the band, Charles DeChant. You should check out his solo in H&O Maneater!! 👍🏽 Daryl runs a YT channel called Daryl's House...check that out. He invites musicians to come and jam!! Very cool!! Love your channel!! ❤👍🏽
This is the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Hall and Oates!!! This song has been sampled God knows how many times. Famous sample is Notorious Big Hypnotized.
Hall and oats are old school badass! Im glad to see yall appreciate people playing instruments and doing their own vocals and sounds! Not much of that left in todays music. ✌️
Wasn't sure if y'all knew this but Daryl at the age of 74 is STILL rocking. He invites famous singers over to his house & they jam out to either a Hall & Oates song or one of theirs. It's called 'LIVE AT DARYL'S HOUSE". Do you know who Cee Lo Green is? Also goes by Gnarles Barkley? He sings the song "Crazy" & was a judge on The Voice? Anyway... he sings the song you just reacted to with Daryl at his house. Check it out. Everyone LOVES these videos. ruclips.net/video/GoXxdObGKuI/видео.html
Later on Darryl Hall did a series called “Live from Darryl’s house” where he would invite guests to his house to jam with them. Check out the version of “l can’t go for that” with Cee Lo Green, Live from Darryl’s house. It’s a great version.
Hall & Oates was a hit machine in the 80s. You should listen to Sara Smile to hear Darryl vocal range. Also, Maneater to hear an amazing saxophone play.
Daryl Hall, lead singer, blonde - John Oates, brunette w/mustache and Charlie DeChant with sax appeal. Best selling duo of the 80's but also had hits in the 70's and 90's-2000's. Worth following the bread crumbs. If you need suggestions, ask me because I'm a huge fan and was actually a teenager in the 80's.
You've stepped onto a well-trodden path of mine! "Sara Smile" is one of my favorites. I bet you two would love "Adult Education". AND there is an awesome (and fairly recent) version of THIS song with guests Chromeo on "Live From Daryl's House"
"One on one" Hall and Oates. Another great song. You should react to it. Also, "Funkin for Jamaica" by Tom Browne!! All time jam. I think you'll agree...
You should listen to Creed, With Arms Wide Open the Official Video or 3 Doors Down, When I'm Gone the official video they are both so beautiful. So proud of you both. God bless you both.
Great choice. This awesome work was created basically to clap back at the music industry taking advantage of them and others. Topped the R & B and pop charts...no small feat 😁
Loved your reaction, and that you picked up on the different instruments, harmonies. If you react to them again, all the songs people are requesting are better live. Live concerts from 2002-2003.
another vote for "private eyes"!!! and listen to "daryl's house": daryl (the white dude) was inviting famous musicians and they're are playin live - songs from hall and oates and from the visitors as well. in these videos you get witness of a miracle: how daryl sings and looks with the age of almost 70. you wont believe your eyes and ears
Michael Jackson apologized , to Daryl, when they met, because he said he stole this intro for Billie Jean...and Real Talk...the sisters in the ARMY with me...said I was F'N FLY for a white guy. =P...just like your comment on Daryl =P....Livy

The song is I believe by the group Brooks and Dunn. Sit back really listen and get you tissues out. This is one powerful tune. Peace and love from Canada. Keep pushin
Y’all are THE greatest reaction couple out there! BUT - please try not to pause so much. Make note of specific places you want to comment on and skip back to them when it’s over. Thanks Please do a reaction to an amazing singer and ballad - Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold. Put your heart on your sleeve. Savor the ride.
She's gone is another one with this vibe. Should check out Daryls house, after seeing him do Sara Smile, watch him do it with Smokey Robinson (my favorite version). Also, he did this song with Cee Lo Green. My favorite episode is with my favorite group, The O'Jays.
“I hope you don’t mind. I stole the groove from ‘I Can’t Go for That’ for my song ‘Billie Jean.’” - Michael Jackson ... and this also sounds like a very early west-coast LA style hiphop and Nate Dogg clearly had some inspiration ... good stuff :)
Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard just dropped " Undivided" . It is a time sensitive video message song for our nation, the USA. We need this, please do as soon as possible.
Omg that's the funniest thing I've ever heard. You're good girl in you're assumption you didn't know. John Oates help write the songs they sang but I'm with you. It doesn't look like he's doing much. I thought that same thing when I was a teen in the 80s.
Darryl Hall is singing lead and playing keyboards. John Oates has the mustache and playing guitar. Charles DeChant is on saxophone
Yes. And John does sing lead on some of their songs and he has a great voice.
