So let me get this straight. If the Vikings would have given up 12, 23 a future first and a mid round pick and drafted Maye they would have had a good draft?😂😂

  • @jemroberts6507

Took 2 consensus big board top 10 players. Key positions of need. If they work out we've cleared a mountain of cap space for the future. Next year's draft isn't a disaster we've still got a first and a probable 3rd round comp and probably in excess of 100 million cap space. So much of these are about picks (now and next year) rather the actual players taken, the current roster ,2024 season etc rather than how we're set up goung forward.

So let me understand: J.J. McCarthy going to a team with an offensive minded system, the best receiver in the game, a second year player in Addison who did well considering he played with four QBs last year, a top three TE in Hockenson who looks ahead of schedule, and revamped defense with Flores is gonna be bad? I’m so confused. The only media outlets who respected the Vikings were Dan and Mina

Future QB McCarthy was meant to go top 4. Or 6. We got him at 10.

  • @DarkTranqz

Absolute garbage anazlysis. Vikings spent draft capital on two first round picks equivalent to what it would have cost to only move up to number 4 to get just one guy, WITHOUT giving up a 2025 1st round pick. Came out with two top 10 consensus picks - their potential franchise QB of the future, and arguably the best defensive player in the draft?! Still have yet to see both picks proven, but on that fact alone, one of the top 5 BEST draft moves this year. Chicago, Detroit, Philly, Kansas City, and Minnesota all did awesome.

It’s the entire body of work. Kwesi hasn’t had any good drafts up to this one, so most people are believing McCarthy won’t pan out. Dallas Turner is a home run pick, but why give picks to the Jets to move up one? They clearly didn’t do the comparison of short throws Nix and Breese so who didn’t do their job? Then some others said to much for Turner but I can live with that kid because he jumps off the tape. McCarthy is hit or miss. We will see. Who else did we draft that’s not a 50/50 will he make the team? For now I’m agreeing. If McCarthy can’t beat out Darnold then this will be a complete joke.

I agree with most of this video... but I struggle to understand the dislike for the 2022 draft. I get the disappointment with so many of these players not realizing their potential because of injuries (Cine, Booth, Ingram, Asamoah, Evans), but how is that Kwesi's fault or why would that go against the quality of this draft? Injuries are injuries... and all of these players have the potential to recover and become the players we all thought they might (and in many cases, we've had glimpses of how good they can be). Besides, and this is really the main point of my comment.... I have loved watching Ty Chandler grow into his role in our offense and am so excited to see him and Aaron Jones (along with CJ, of course) take over the backfield. Ty along with Nick Muse - a great blocking tight end and great pairing with TJ - make this a great draft in my mind.

Okay so for a team with no 2.nd and no 3rd rounders
But two first and a bunch of mid round picks plus a need on QB and in a position where we might have to trade up for a QB then to give up a 3.rd and 4.th to secure our QB.. while keep our second first and then land a player who for some (also for experts on NFL com)
Was the best defensive prospect and first defensive player off the board.. thats a bad draft? Okay.. getting a big physical CB and with the late round picks we get some compensation for the OLine while getting a kicker with a record breaking most points scored..
We got him in the 6.th round.. who ranked them? Adam Rank?
I bet he loved the punter pick in the 4.th round.. (all respect to punters but 4.th round is high.. )
Sure maybe Jets Tricked us with a trade saying that they had offers from Raiders or Broncos without having any but thats how you play the game.. still the trade couldve been worse and we got a guy that we believe in.. and one that was high on the list.. maybe we wanted Maye more but im sure that those experts wouldve hated that we have 3 first rounders to get Maye.. if we paid that much then you have to hit it.. paying 2 midround picks and still get one of the better names (i couldve sweared that Atlanta if they went QB then McCarthy would fit the situation in Atlanta better than Penix
We get a shot on a promising prospect without selling the farm.. but ofcause if you want to find something to dislike then you can always find it.. it was a different draft from us than we are used to.. no trade downs.. two trade ups and then stick and pick but honestly i like our draft.. im sure the media is told to have a certain opinion about the teams..
Thats how sports works in my country.. experts at certain channels are told to have certain opinions and cant speak free about what they think because the broadcasters tell them what opinion they need to have..
I dont give a **** about what they think.. we dont know who had the best draft.. we will see.. point is that we added promising players at key positions and positions of need
