"In US and Canada" I knew from the beginning this was an American problem. ASUS has been accepting warranty replacements from me when it was clearly my own idiocy that had caused the problems. They spent hours on remote desktop troubleshooting my network setup to help figure out what the issue was with a particular wireless speaker. They eventually hit me with an email asking me to update to fix the issue. When was the last time a hardware developer reached out to you in order to resolve a problem specific to you? Me neither, and that's why I'm sticking with ASUS. Because they're still providing the support quality they are known for in Denmark, and the rest of the world outside America, I'm guessing.
I could understand Microsoft's want to put ads in Windows if it was restricted to just unlicensed copies, but that crap should stay out of any copy that has been verified as licensed.
I say let them continue to enshittify Windows until it drives people to other options. The only thing that Microsoft will actually listen to is their market share shrinking.

Until Mac gets better for gaming or Linux gets easier for the layman to setup and use, Windows it is. If people have to hire a tech guy just to install their OS on a computer than had windows already and they could be using for no extra money or time, they won’t switch to Linux. It’s just the truth

Google paying to "make it go away" is so a precedent isn't set in court, opening them up to other lawsuits that will use the ruling from this case, and not having a jury of people that HATE ads, being forced on them in every facet of life, sitting there judging you, wouldn't be a good thing. Unless you really need software that doesn't run on Linux, it's a much calmer OS, and easier to administer even than Windows 10. I am not any kind of tech person; I just find nice, comfortable Linux Mint just gets in the way less.

I'm really thankful that Tech Jesus uncovered the whole ASUS fiasco. Many friends of mine had issues regarding software support or had difficulties with the customer service.
