Afro just going to say this is by far one of the best games I’ve played and as a seasoned souls vet it was a breath of fresh air in the waiting of the Elden ring dlc. For this game, you 100% should get parrying down to a basic level. Parrying is perfect blocking like sekiro (perfect block=red affect upon blocking at the right time). It’s not like sekiro where you can spam it, so you need to time it right. You don’t need to master it but I would recommend you do, it can be the difference in a fight that seems impossible to just taking a couple tries. Definitely explore and use the weapon assembling and make something unique that YOU like. Lots of great combinations and pretty much all are viable. And play to your strengths and play smart. Lots of players over hyped these bosses but they aren’t so bad if you just give yourself space to breathe and read the openings. Couple of bosses are absolutely really tough but you got this. Just save your fable arts for low health and consumables stock up on!
One thing that helped me with the parry is that instead of tapping the parry in time like in Sekiro you have to press in time and hold it like half a second to perfect parry. Once you get the hang of it the game starts clicking, granted it took me a bit longer than I care to admit but it clicked.
tips that could help -red moves can be parried but have more punishing results if u fail, does major pose damage if you succeed -parry takes stamina -the bosses or rare enemies in the world give you materials to buff ur character or weapons -all enemies have pose like sekiro and if you parry/block enough there weapon can break or they can be open to fatal blow(white bar on health) -don't forget to upgrade your weapon

The red moves are not un-parryable - they are the only moves you are required to parry. They are supposed to be undodgeable and you must perfect parry them to avoid damage.
Oh that ending was pain. Everyone else gave some great tips, the only thing i'll add is the health you lose from blocking can be regained just like in bloodborne. This goes for the enemies you attack as well, if you aren't somewhat aggressive they'll regain some health

red attacks can be parried, they just can't be blocked. Parrying reduces their posture which will make their health bar flash white, when it's flashing white do a charge attack and you can get the oppurtunity for a visceral attack.
You have to block at the last minute for a perfect guard amd it builds up their stagger and breaks their weapon. Some weapon handles have an actual parry but not all the one youre using in the beginning is just to endure attacks. Prscticr the timing for perfect guards on the dummies at the hotel itll help alot. If you parry enough, the boss will stagger, which is shown by white boss name effect. Then you can do heavy attack and stun them. Perfect parry is great but dont try to parry everthing, you can dodge ass well. And, you can combine weapon blades and hilts and create unique weapons. Use crancks to get scaling higher. your energy gauge doesnt matter for parries just timing the block correctly. The energy matters for weapon abilities u can deconstuct nonboss weapons to a "handle" and an "end" and depending on the "handle" u use will give the weapon an ability and depending on what "end" u use will give it another; different abilities cost a range of energy some 1 bar some 3. not sure it matters though after the way this episode ends
In my search for (Perfect Block) in this game. I notice alot of players saying that "There is a noticeable multi frame delay in the parry". As there will be mobs and bosses doing muti attacks all which even the red attacks can be perfect block. Overall just work on the timing or just dodge.Tthe game itself is really fun and best of luck.
If it helps you out Afro, I would practice the parrying on the swordsman puppets that you can find near City Hall. Aside from destroying enemy weapons by parrying, you can also destroy them by beating on them while they are trying to block your attacks.
a parry aka perfect block is when u press ur block right before the enemy's attack hits you. the parry using fable charges (the blue bars) is another form of parry. often there are enemy attacks that are better parried and some that are better dodged (i.e. enemy grabs vs enemy swing attacks)
When you’re “overheated” if you dash it goes away faster, so you don’t have to eat all the damage. You’re on fire, so it’s basically stop drop and roll. Also charged R2’s help break their posture just like parrying does, so doing both gets more staggers frequently.
Also you can upgrade your weapon at the hotel using those moonstones butterflies drop. Here's a few other things to note about weapons. - First thing is that you don't have to be afraid to upgrade a certain one at all. You can just stick it's blade to another handle and keep all your upgraded stats. - The second thing is, each blade and handle has their own moveset. Your handle determines your weapon's moveset such as heavy attacks and normal swings. Your handle also determines your scaling, and with the cranks you get you can alter which stat your weapon scales off of more. It also comes with it's own fable buff? If that's what you call it(the one you get by holding guard and fable art at the same time). While your blade determines what type of fable art you have on your weapon and it's weight. - The third thing is that you can get boss weapon's in this game as well as one other thing from defeating bosses. DON'T use the rare ergo you get from bosses. Hold on to it, you'll meet an npc later that'll let you trade. I repeat don't use it!! The 1500 ergo isn't worth it at all, that's nothing later on. - Final thing, boss weapon's are powerful as hell; at least some of them are. You need special moonstones to upgrade them and you can't disassemble them to stick them on another handle.
Afro you had him there at the end. You just gotta ball out and go for it y’all both only had a little left. But helpful tip. If you have one heal left better off using it to have a full health bar, that way you have a full health bar while charging back up another heal.
I enjoy Lies of P more than Elden Ring. It’s much more straightforward, in a good way. I was so impressed with it. Can’t wait for the DLC and sequel. Hopefully the studio will give us their take on the Wizard of Oz.
Theres not parrying really, it’s perfect blocking in this game. You just gotta block the attack the moment before it hits you. It builds up the stagger meter on enemies(the white outline around their health bar) so its better to focus on perfect blocking than dodging in most cases.
A parry is a perfect block. Time the input just before the enemy's momentum changes. As for ergo attacks (blue charge) there's the weapon augment that basically gives more powerful normals and then there's the command input (big slash) that's good after a block, parry or dodge, it stuns and depending on the weapon adds a status effect. I aint play sekiro but there's no way the great ape is harder than the furnace lol. I beat puppet of the future first try lmao
It’s a mix of Sekiro and Bloodborne. You lose health when you block, but you have rally so you get back on hit. You can time it to perfect block so you don’t lose any health, and you can do it on red attacks.
Parry is like Sekiro, Parrying can brake weapons (yes even boss weapons), and when their health bar glows white do a charged heavy for a critical. Also, yes you can parry red attacks.
Afro a couple tips, you can parry red attacks but you have to perfect parry, on regular attacks if you don’t perfect parry you will take some damage but you can gain that health back by attacking called guard regain you’ll know because after you get hit your health that got taken will be a light red color, R2 are your weapon arts, and last you can regain 1 healing item after you used your last one by attacking, the game wants you to play a mix of sekiro and bloodborne by being aggressive but also smart by parrying, hope this helps
youre gonna have a great time with this game. It definietly is a hard game at the start but U can do it. Also the blue bars can activate your fable arts which is your weapon blade and handle. They do different things
Oh my God, BROOOO. I just beat NG+4 so seeing you playing here is....fun. Go unlock the stargazers and level up at the hotel. Deadass, you just gotta watch a whole guide. I gotcha though. 1: Talk to merchants, you missed out on having a very good weapon to take out puppets with. And you missed a miniboss in Krat to have given you a faster handle for your weapon to assemble with. 2. Parry is just like Jedi Survivor. HOLD L1 to block and still take some damage. PRESS L1 to parry. 3. ALWAYS fully explore the level before fighting the main boss to do all the things. 4. Go spend your ergo (souls) to level up. The number at the top right of the screen was blue the whole time. That means you have enough to level up. Go spend them asap always..
11:15 you can! In new game plus you will have an item who let you understand "puppet language". A little hint, if you manage to read it its basically english
parrying is just perfect guarding so if you hit the guard button right before the enemy attacks you get a parry which will be indicated by a different sound and their weapon glowing
one thing to note that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet is that you can combine weapons and weapon handles for new moves and stuff! my personal favorite has got to be the salamander blade + booster glaive handle. it's decently fast, plus the salamander blade is a fire weapon. quite a few later enemies are weak to fire. I recommend it, maybe you'd like it! I've been using to since almost the beginning of the game lol. now im getting closer to the end of the game. and it still works incredibly well!
It's right after the first stargazer in the factory, so I doubt he is going back there unfortunately. I also used the salamander dagger for a little while.@@kamp1152

When you’re “overheated” if you dash it goes away faster, so you don’t have to eat all the damage. You’re on fire, so it’s basically stop drop and roll.
Also charged R2’s help break their posture just like parrying does, so doing both gets more staggers frequently.
10:36 "how bad can it be" *famous last words*
Bro that puppet of the future fight almost made me give up on this game so many times
Oh man the end fight had me at the edge of my seat... Then I snort laughed when you lost it like I do with this game 🤣
Afro you had him there at the end. You just gotta ball out and go for it y’all both only had a little left. But helpful tip. If you have one heal left better off using it to have a full health bar, that way you have a full health bar while charging back up another heal.
Afro 😂 love that ur playing this parrying in this is just blocking right before u get hit (but watch out not everything can be parried)
Oh shit - I wasn't expecting this one but I will settle for it.
Lies of P is an excellent game.
red attacks are meant to be parried, basically you can parry everything in this game, even projectiles and AOE attacks
Playing “Find the Flame” during this boss? I see what you did there Afro. I approve. Such a good song
It builds up the stagger meter on enemies(the white outline around their health bar) so its better to focus on perfect blocking than dodging in most cases.
ahhh this is what ive been missing lately.. good to have clssic afro back
Afro back in his bag🙏🏽
You had me in the first half NGL.
Been waiting on Lies of P content! Thank you 🔥
Yo you’re timing is godly I just started playing
You’re going to do great with minimal rage this series ;)
surely
Parry is like Sekiro, Parrying can brake weapons (yes even boss weapons), and when their health bar glows white do a charged heavy for a critical. Also, yes you can parry red attacks.
A big tip is to parry the red attacks there alwyas very punishable and do big poise damage
Stop sleeping on this game Afro. It’s fire fire. Master the mechanics and dive down the rabbit hole. We here for it
Oh my God, BROOOO.
Classic Afro ending. Lies of P will offer many of those moments.
You just block at the right time for parry with L1, the one that uses energy is a guard counter.
please please please continue this series you will love how this game progresses
parrying is just perfect guarding so if you hit the guard button right before the enemy attacks you get a parry which will be indicated by a different sound and their weapon glowing
Afro is the #1 biggest bag seller on this planet! He had that whole fight!!!🤣🤣🤣
Afro is back I'm ready to conquer his fear of mechanical dolls: let's get it😎
Ain't Gon lie. This is the most epic battle I've seen since Malenia and all the Elden Ring bosses. AfroSenju V King's Flame Fuoco was INSANE😂
Let’s gooo for another afro series!!!! Love from Belgium 🫶
“Find the Flame” very fitting for this boss haha
oh lets go this game is actually very good so i hope af does an entire series for it
"IM HIM" at the end had me moist💀💀 Shi reminding me of the elden playtrough😭
I forget how good afro is at parrying, this game is toast now he's got the mechanic down. love lies of p videos
the panda raid music from ff14 in the background really sold this for me
You never fail to perfectly use Nier music into pretty much every upload
Him only heavy attack is pissing me off
Afro learning to perfect guard just to come against the boss that you are better off dodging against
Every boss in this game is gonna be malenia level rage from you. Im speaking from experience lmao
Hold the parry button at the right time to parry. Also to do multiple parries you should hold the button
Parry works on timing, It's a perfect guard it has a distinctive sound to it
one thing to note that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet is that you can combine weapons and weapon handles for new moves and stuff! my personal favorite has got to be the salamander blade + booster glaive handle. it's decently fast, plus the salamander blade is a fire weapon. quite a few later enemies are weak to fire. I recommend it, maybe you'd like it! I've been using to since almost the beginning of the game lol. now im getting closer to the end of the game. and it still works incredibly well!
I don't think he found the salamander blade.
@@thetoyodacar2264 I don't think he has yet either. just mentioned it cuz it's my favorite weapon combo. maybe he'll like something different lol
It's right after the first stargazer in the factory, so I doubt he is going back there unfortunately. I also used the salamander dagger for a little while.@@kamp1152
HE PUT HIS FOOT IN THIS, W VID❤️❤️❤️
If only Afro was patient and held his composure he would've gotten the W
Glad u got parry down. Most people don't see this is game of the year because they never learn that & also they rush thru.. ex. When u ran past puppet of future, u can hit a switch to remove corruption on ground. . When u Continue to parry u build up stagger to give them fatal attack .. charged heavy also build up parry... the fun is finding the best weapon along with legion arm. The legion arm string is used to pull little ones close or u to them once upgraded and I'll let you learn what the max upgrade version does !!!! This is an amazing game, best combat since sekiro ... great vids per usual been watching for years. Your page deserves my first and only comment on the matter😂
