    I cut my ponytail palm in January. (I live in the Pacific Northwest) and was worried that I had ruined my 25+ year old plant because nothing was happening. It FINALLY has started to develop some pups in late March! It started after we had the time change and is now getting more sunlight.
    I have read that you can't take the top that you have cut off and root it. I thought why not give it a shot. I kept the top in water for about 6 weeks and it started to grow roots. I have since planted it and it is doing great! It doesn't have a bulb, but who knows. It may develop one someday.

I wanted to cut it above the highest shoot which is about 1 1/2 feet from the base. Can i cut up high and save the 2 shoots or will i have to cut closer to the base as you do in your video?

The stem began to look crinkly for several inches down so thinking it was rot, I cut it off again but did NOT seal the second time. It is starting to crinkle again. It doesn't feel mushy - more like outside wood peeling away from inner stem. Is it the humidity from where I live? Any suggestions? Can grow branch but without bulb it's useless. Early summer is best time.

    Hi sir. Planning to get some sprouts. Is it possible to grow this from sprouts? Will it grow roots?

    • @bonsaihunter007
      @bonsaihunter007  5 лет назад

      You mean pups sprouting from sides.. we can separate the pups and grow them separately. And we can propagate this plant from seeds also.
