    I dare say that Shawn is very well-known, but I have literally just discovered him in the last couple of days. Surely this guy is one of the greatest electric guitarists ever isn’t he? I’m awestruck by his abilities.

    I’m really liking the less serious tone you are going for now . Keep this up , we like seeing more of the “real” Shawn tubbs. Also I’ve always really loved your playing since the vineyard days. I still listen to all your old solos like the “shine upon us” solo . Still amazing

    You’re the guitarist I’m listening to right now cuz you mirror my what I’d like to sound like is I could. Very funny too.
    Awe me an crack me up too. I’m 62 have stage4 lung cancer, and don’t want to be weird, but you’re one of the guys I’ll be listening to
    at the end, along 20 other musicians like Johnny Winter (one of the first in 68) Steve Morse, etc, ( All the greats . just started listening to josh smith too. 2nd generation players... all great guitarists carrying the torch, lighting the way for those after you.

      @@gitaaa7740 Gitaa A hmm I don't know if there really is a difference? But I usually say riff for something like the main part of a song (think crazy train or smoke on the water or something like that) and a lick to me is more of a short fragment that can be used in a variety of situations

    Very cool stuff and I noticed that when you're improvising you also use that sort of dissonant tonality going into the 5 court as well thanks for sharing it's one thing to learn the lick it's another thing to have the instinct to be able to throw more creative tonality in there on the fly when improvising... hence my dilemma...lol

    That's a great Line!! I love your tele sound. Great feel.Plenty of Soulful Punch. I love to hear the guitar played the right way. Melodic,Intens,and with a lot of Heart. A lot of guitar players today play like their tip toeing through the tulips. So what your showing is the heart and soul of the way music should be played. Keep up the great work. By the way.       Thanks so much Ryan! I'm using my REVV D20 direct to DAW with a Rockett Pedals Majestic OD. The delay you hear is a Pro Tools plugin.

      Thanks! I'm using my Revv D20 direct into my Apogee interface via the XLR out. The cab model is a 4x12 and the mics are a Royer 121 and SM57 model. The slapback delay you're hearing is in ProTools. I used my Rockett Pedals Majestic OD into the front of the D20. The D20 was set pretty clean.

      I have an idea of the tonality of the lick before I play it but that's about it. All bets are off after that!!
