Tenor Nino Martini
Born in Verona in 1902, Nino Martini studied in Paris and with Zenatello and Gay and made his debut in Milan, in 1925. In 1929 he came to the U.S. Following his Holywood debut, in Paramount on Parade, in 1930, he appeared in four more films. He sang throughout the country and on CBS radio. For 13 consecutive seasons at the Metropolitan Opera, from 1933-46, he gave a total of 110 performances. Martini died in Verona in 1976.
