Love the video but I've got to say that the way B-roll is cut in is quite frustrating. You showed a quick look of the whole classroom 1 minute in and then it took until 8 minutes in to show a wide view again. Or like at 9:57 he very clearly points to something in the room, how about showing it? Or when he talked about lights, no lights were shown. This kind of thing feels like a recurring issue on this channel. I don't know, I'm not a professional but just feels like the whole video they're talking about something that I'm not allowed to see properly.
@@davidyoung518 why? Seems utterly irrational to me. Sure the are not as great as they sometimes think but that doesn’t mean they don’t have good products as well. Silo being one of them as an example
This is a show that grabs you right from the first episode. You have no idea what you are missing as far as narrative storytelling. This is Drama with a capital "D." The characters are fully developed and each episode reveals a little more about the mystery. Rebecca Ferguson is reason enough to watch this series but there are so many great actors on this show.
@@davidyoung518 Oh man, you shouldn't! They make things worth watching and buying! I was not a fan of Apple, I don't even buy iPhones, but there are things that amaze me and the Apple series or Macs are one of them. It's just unbelievable. I wish to work on the set.
Silo just seems like Fallout but about the shelters instead of the wasteland. A cool bit of background, and how these stories they tell are never mentioned but are completely needed to build the immersion. Kudos to them and not doing it all in green screen.
It's kinda odd to see all the sets so lit up. They do all that work on the classroom, and then it's dark as hell in the actual episode after editing and coloring lol
TV show Halt and Catch Fire was a great example of set accomplishing transporting you in time - the realism accomplished between set and wardrobe etc…. but almost no one has seen it.😢
Fallout might be your jam, the early games from Obsidian studios especially. While we haven't observed you as a gamer yet, at the very least the wiki could provide you with some entertainment.
Might as well go further and mention the movie La Jetée and the book A Canticle for Leibowitz that inspired Fallout. I just watched first 5 minutes of Silo but instead of Fallout I'm getting Wool Omnibus vibes.
The piano keys struck me as egregious. I understand wear and tear, but I have seen 80+ year old pianos at public schools that look a hundred times cleaner than the one in this video. Overall though, this is stunning set design.
Why does the thumbnail feel AI generated? I know it's not... Just something stylistically sets off my radar. Does that technically mean it's a great well-composed and well-lit photo?
@@abbofun9022 I don't have Apple TV and I don't have a TV.. I've been working in the industry since 1983 and haven't gotten around to buying one. I guess I could watch it on my phone. 😁
I love the production design of SILO, unfortunately season 2 has completely lost me. Glacial pacing with dull side characters taking most of the spotlight
I wanted to love this show. But I got so bored by the first season! It started strong and then devolved into a slow, boring police procedural about a murder? We watched maybe four episodes and quit. Seeing this set makes me want to revisit the series, maybe just start fresh with season 2. Apple TV does some amazing production work, but they tend to pad the hell out of their series to the point of foot-dragging. Somehow I watched the entire series "Constellation" and while it was a lovely production with great performances... it easily could have had 2-3 episodes trimmed over the entire season. This set is spectacular though, and thanks for this video.
Same. Silo of the "creatives" is news to me and sort of explains how Solo knows about Romeo and Juliet. I assumed it was because he has access to everything in the vault. No one in 18 seemed to know about it except for Juliette's mother. So I'm a little confused now. Maybe this topic of "the creatives" is covered in episode 9 which I haven't watched yet. Also, they do all this work on the set and you can't see shit in either silo watching the show because EVERYTHING is filmed so dark what is the point? Again maybe ep 9 they turn up the lights?
(Note: Light spoilers within for SILO Season 2)
SILO season 2 is now streaming on Apple TV+.

The 9:57 part irked me as well, kinda bummed it took to the end of the video to actually show the full room
I don't watch Silo but I do really enjoy this series of behind the scenes videos.
Same here.....I stay away from anything and everything related to Apple.

Watching S2/09 tonight. Thanks for showing us some more of the set makers and writers coming together to make a perfected scene.

@@Skeptic2006 That would be because the show is based on the book series Wool.
Love Silo, and am thrilled with the behind the scenes. Just like with Wallace and Gromet Aardman animations in the UK. Awesome stuff.
This show is amazing just finished 9th episode of season 2 and now this pops up ❤
Have been enjoying Silo and really love these BTS videos!
Couldn't get into the show as much as I loved the book trilogy, but major kudos to those bringing it to life on screen with these sets and costumes.
Impossible to post a comment first and have it be relevant. I love these videos about behind the scenes in cinema though.
Great, now I've got to watch Silo. Thanks Adam. 🧐🧐🧐🧐🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
These videos make me really miss DVD Special/Extra Features and behind the scenes docs.
I oftentimes would like those better than the movie itself.
Never heard of the show, but it looks like a fun set to work for an artist.
I bet Adam was wanting to break out his Scottish accent talking to the lady.
Yeah the classroom was a cool set, reminds me of those abandoned places like Chernobyl, felt authentic
I've always admired Adam's khaki jacket in these videos, anyone know where it's from?
Not much of a vamper is our set decorator.
Put me onto a new show nice
They don't clean and wipe their stuff in Silo? Even I do that, and I don't leave the house either ;)))
But have you done it for 80 years straight?

This set reminds me of fallout
Interesting. It would have been even more interesting if I had heard of and watched the show.
It's a great series.
What’s stopping you?
To be honest, some of the Silo vids give the vibe Adam hasn't watched it either!
@ that’s because he was there when season 2 hadn’t aired yet

Probably never see. Good luck

Didn't know it was the silo of the creators, SPOILER EH?!

Silo, another boring Apple production.
