Been waiting for HMX to make a switch like this! Quite surprised by the higher pitch with nylon and POM... wondering if hand-lubing rails would make it sound even more muted? It reminds me of a Gateron Oil King but higher pitched and with no syringe sounds or wobble.
Hi Keeb Taro! I'm really curious about how you set up the caliper so that it can measure the bottom out travel of the switch. I want to try to do measurement myself but I'm confused about how. Can you explain it?
I'm glad to hear you're interested in trying it out for yourself! I'm not doing anything too elaborate with the measurements, but thanks for the video idea!
Here are two main points: 1. If calculations feel tedious, consider buying calipers that allow zero-resetting at any position. 2. As shown in the video, reset to zero at the point where the stem just barely doesn’t sink. While there may be some variance due to manual measurements and manufacturing inconsistencies in switches, this method provides sufficient reference.
Hey Keeb taro. Thanks for all the awesome reviews as always (I have been subscribed for a while). I’m travelling to Japan for a holiday some time soon. I was wondering if it was ok for me to ask you if there is anywhere an enthusiast (like myself) can visit or anything that I can do that is related to the mechanical keyboard hobby. So far, I’ve only identified Yusha Kobo Keyboard Specialty Shop in Tokyo, and I would like to hear you give more suggestions (if there are any more open to the public).
That’s wonderful! Unfortunately, Yushakobo is the only store with a physical location. If you’re interested in brands like Realforce, I recommend visiting Bic Camera or Yodobashi Camera nearby. At Yushakobo, you can see a prototype of the Libertouch 60%. Be sure to check it out! twitter.com/yushakobo_shop/status/1853994486554337699?t=Rqe67rl0eyXh61S0nxTC3A&s=19

HMX Hyacinth V2とHMX KD200とく選べたらどちがお勧めになりますか?
Film系の新金型は剛性が向上していますが音の違いを無視してまでオススメする程ではないです。音の好みで選んで下さい。
❤
they are not sold anywhere(
That's very popular, after all.
