- Cinematic 4K DJI Air2S Drone footage of Mirador del Rio (Rio Viewpoint) at an altitude of 474 metres, in the northernmost part of on Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. Mirador del Rio gets its name from El Río: a narrow strip of sea that gives its name to the viewpoint and separates Lanzarote from La Graciosa, the eighth Canary Island. From Mirador del Rio you can gaze out at one of Lanzarote’s most spectacular panoramic views: the Parque Natural del Archipiélago Chinijo (Chinijo Archipelago National Park) and the Risco de Famara escarpment. The Chinijo Archipelago is a small archipelago located in the northeastern part of the Canary Islands, north of the island of Lanzarote. The archipelago includes the islets of Montaña Clara, Alegranza, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste and the island of La Graciosa.
Mirador del Rio was inaugurated in the 70s, and is one of the most representative architectural works of César Manrique for the integration of man’s hand in the natural environment, a harmonious formula that unites art and nature. The access of Mirador del Rio is guarded by a sculpture by Manrique representing a bird and a fish. They are a metaphor of water and air, the elements of greater presence in the environment.
