      @@Nari_Trovi The same way as you would doing it straight across. If the pattern calls for performing a chain in multiples in the round or whatever number you’re still going to start it with a foundation chain and work that many as the pattern calls for

      @Nari_Trovi the pull through the first loop creates the foundation base without that base the work would begin to curve ... ie 3 dc without the ch1 base would mimic 3 dc into next stitch

    Hey, just a little tip: try to learn how to hold your working yarn in the classic position, twisted around the pinky, drawn under the ring and middle, and up over the top of the pointer. It's a game changer to hold your yarn this way! You can control the flow and position of your yarn, and you work goes so much faster!

    • @tkgosselin
      @tkgosselin 8 месяцев назад +1

      I just weave through the fingers, and don't twist around the pinky. After 50 years of crocheting, I don't need it for tension, but it feels weird without it😂. Although when using a 1 or 2 weight, I will use a tension ring in my pointer finger, just because my.hand will cramp after a few hours without it.

    This is the only way I will make my projects ❤️ learned this a few years ago and never going back to foundation chains. It's got too many bonuses for me:
    1- a stretchy starting row, unlike with a chain.
    2- you can add or subtract as many as you need to get your count right without having to start over from the very beginning.
    3- it makes the bottom edge look nicer and is much easier when making a border for blankets/ other projects.
    4- you can see how your yarn of choice will work up as you go instead of guessing or having to do a million swatches.

      Your next row would go into the top of each st you are making((the st closest to your hook) (as normal). The reason you use the bottom for the foundation st's is because you are technically creating the ch as well... So for any rows after the ch and 1st row, would be crocheted normally. 😊 I hope this helps.
