This video is so inspiring! I’ve been trying to get back into writing poetry. I used to do it often in high school and college, and I had a similar process of writing around words that I loved or had a fixation on. I would play with the word, transform it into a verb if there was no verb form, and try to stretch and challenge its meaning and use in other ways. Now that I have a job centered around academic writing, I lost that for a bit. But, I’ve been feeling it come back to me, and I just need to lean into it.
