True Detective Season 4 brought me here. This song made me cry. I've always loved Moby back in the day, and it's good to know he's still out here making quality music.
I think it also played at the right time. The season is probably going to be divisive when it ends, but if you ask me? The vibes are immaculate. And I'm speaking as someone from the tropics. I don't exactly relate on a personal level with the icy setting. I'm loving every frame so far.
SAME 😭
Yes, episode 4 me too.
Same for me! So beautiful song!
same. i'm reading so much criticisms meanwhile i'm watching in awe and an hour feels like a minute@@romerobjuancarlos
True Detective has an amazing soundtrack... ❤ Moby
Definitely! I totally agree.
Also here via True Detective Season 4 2024.
An awesome prayer 🤲
Been a fan of Moby for decades, but True Detective Night Country E4 brought me here. I had to literally stop the episode midway, and seek this out!
Same! I'm a mega fan of Moby and knew I'd heard the song but came searching! So glad I found out.
same here :)
I shazamed it during the show😂😂
The soundtrack to the series is great..
@@Johnafin-hv2eo Same here. Gave me chills during the Navarro fight scene, and I had to find it! Thank God for Shazam and YT!
acá también, qué hermoso oso!
Still listening and still loving in 2024.... looking forward to seeing him in Manchester
I can't help but think of my mother and others battling dementia and Alzheimer's and living in darkness. May their loved ones light the way for them.
Ohh Moby, you really are one rare species, full of deepest love and empathy.
That's quite simple as for the fact he was raised with high integrity and moral values, inside Jehovah''s Witness old kingdom hall in his youthfulness !
Most definitely agree
Reading this made me cry 🥲
Проснись и пой с Mobi 🎄🤗✌️

So glad True Detective brought me here. Brilliant song 😀
It's an honor for me to write you, Moby, although you may never see this comment.
I´ve been listening your songs since I was a child. I don´t know how you can create those beautiful songs, with them I can yearn for the past, I remember with hope. Your music has something very special that I can´t describe. I only know that it reminds me of loved ones, special moments of my life, and I think that all this has helped me to be a better person. Thank you Moby.
Great comment!
Moby thanks you for being such a wonderful human being 😘
I feel that with other music. Exactly how you wrote it to!
But it is now we discover the songs we missed, perhaps should have heard, that's radio for ya.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@tobelikenobodyelse same same🙌but i think he reads alot
I just heard this song on True Detective. I forgot what a great song it is! Thanks Moby!
My girlfriends brother took his life last year thank you for your music with it we can really understand how he felt. He loved youre music so much. To day it is his birthday i hope he is looking down at us
Beautiful song, but never, never had I felt such a deep emptiness in my soul, with what we are doing, tears come to my eyes
Don't be discouraged or sad for a too long time, stranger-friend. It is always darkest (on the surface) before the Sun comes up at the dawn, before the Light starts shining through the cracks of the old world, bringing the dark up to the Collective Attention, so that more and more people are starting to see the dysfunctionalities of the old, so that people can make the conscious decision to step in to the Light, into a dawning Golden Age. Humanity is starting to wake up! Peace!
You really are not alone. Thank you so much as I know now I'm not alone
@@lizzie98 I know, thanks a greeting

A potion like madness and season
Bracing all like a breaking of reason
But every night lost and every day torn
The drama feeling calmer, it's a calmer in the storm
Speakers are crying like a forest in the rain
I was so alone with my thoughts and my pain
And the darkness closed like a mouth on a [?]
I'll never be free
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
I can't stand on my own anymore
I can't stand in the stain of the broken and poor
I can't break what I held and it never was true
In the mirror what I said was I lied to you
And me and everything I see and everything I could
Tried so hard to be good
For myself, for you, for the hidden and divine
For everything but I can fail just so many times
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
I can't stop when I feel like stopping
At 5 A.M. just cry [?]
A perfect life was enough for you
And ever enough to see me through
For all my lies that were spoken and ways
And the way we lived as an affront to the days
Was an affront to the things that we cared about
Was an affront to everything that we cared about
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
And the darkness closed like a mouth on a [wild night]
At 5 A.M. just cry, [shoot, copping]

The best thing about Moby's music is the haunting melody, the melancholy tinged with sandness and soul behind the electronic and techno sounds. No other electronic artist does it better in my opinion.

Detective Danvers and the one eye bear brought me here
This is my absolute favorite from him! Can’t handle how amazing this is! Thank you Moby for all the gifts you give the world!
Moby is back ! Whatever you do punk, rock, techno, trip hop, ambient,... it's always fantastic !
I have always liked Moby. Feels good to listen to him. His music pin points all my emotions. Anyone out there living with a mother, father, sibling, aunt, uncle, boyfriend, girlfriend, friend that are chronically abusive...get away from them. Seek a mission, shelter, church. Seek out someone to help you find a stable healthy place. Don't allow them to hurt you. Emotionally, physically, verbally. It's not worth it. You will end up like myself 33yrs old with health going down hill. As of tomorrow the abuse I endure from my mother will be no more.
Hope you're able to overcome it, I too have a very abusive mother that I tried to help for years but as of last week I have cut ties with her. It's really not easy because they are soo good at making you fell it's your fault
I still buy CDs (around 80-90 every year) and I think this might be the most beautiful and touching song of 2018. Great album also
Yep, true detective brought me here as well
I mean Jesus Christ WHAT A SOUL MOVING MUSICAL POETRY - guaranteed this song will be on top of my Spotify throughout 2024
So true and so sincere. My heart started beating faster to hear these words. They give shape to the pain in a way I never could have.
This is for all those who are in and pain and who are suffering. We have a way out in the music. This is my anthem.

О, эти россыпи нот... О, этот неизменно африканский бэк-вокал и пронзительный госпел.... МАЭСТРО!!!
There is only ONE Moby, whatever he makes, I trust him, like i trusted Prince.
How comes the most dystopian music is always the most beautiful?
because the money runs out as soon as it sees things getting ugly.
Because it means someone else sees your world in ruin and you're not insane.
Because everything that has a beginning, has an end, apart of the eternal.
Fail, Bach wasnt dystopian.

@taca Opino igual 😊
Take ten deep, slow breaths.

>>But when stressors are always present and you constantly feel under attack, that fight-or-flight reaction stays turned on.
>>The long-term activation of the stress response system and the overexposure to cortisol [The Primary Stress Hormone] and other stress hormones that follow **can disrupt almost all your body's processes.** This puts you at increased risk of many health problems, including:
>>Anxiety, Depression, Digestive problems, Headaches, Muscle tension and pain, Heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and stroke, Sleep problems, Weight gain, Memory and concentration impairment
Peer reviewed article from *Nature*:
>>Prolonged, elevated cortisol [The Primary Stress Hormone] levels in animals are also shown to cause atrophy [Weakening] in the hippocampus [The Brain's Memory Center]and hypertrophy [Growth] in the amygdala [The Brain's Fear Center], largely through changes in dendritic remodeling[Parts Of Brain Cells That Catch Messages From Other Brain Cells]. These structural changes may contribute to deficits in appropriate feedback onto the HPA axis. [The Part Of Your Brain That Keeps You Calm]
Results from Berkely Study:
>>Activity in the amygdala [The Brain's Fear Center], suggests that quick breathing rates may trigger feelings like anxiety, anger, or fear. Other studies have shown that we tend to be more attuned to fear when we're breathing quickly. Conversely, it may be possible to reduce fear and anxiety by slowing down our breath.
Results from MSU study:
>>Deep breathing causes the vagus nerve [Immune System And Heart Rate Control] to signal your nervous system to lower your heart rate, blood pressure and cortisol [The Primary Stress Hormone]. Taking just ten deep breaths can assist with relaxation and provide a sense of calm.
Who is watching this during the protest and Covid-19 ?
during this wild darkness
Kim in Littleton Colorado........every time I even accidentally fall upon moby I know it’s so meant be......this virus is so much more than even when you posted your heart’s questions.........touch base should you choose ..... kimmy737373@hotmail.com----I’ve not ever put my email address so pointedly in this forum....c’est la vie.....just felt a true emotional connection in your innocent inquiry within your question...🙏
It's almost the end of November 2020 now. Those were good times 5 months ago.
I missed you Moby!!!! Greetings from Slovenia
This song fits perfectly with the grief I have from losing my mom. It's rare to have a song hit so on the cord. I miss you mom, you didn't deserve to die from that horrible virus the way you did.
Hello I so much appreciate your comment on my post. Thanks for the love and support towards my music career.

A beautiful song and a hauntingly breathtaking tribute to your sweet mother. Deepest condolences and big hugs ❤️

In these crazy times, & on this morning of changing to standard time (Israel),
when darkness gets even more focus...
this beautiful deep prayer came to my consciousness.
I've been listening to it in loop...................
Lyrics
A portion like madness in season
Bracing all like a breaking of reason
With every night lost and every day torn
With the drama feeling calmer and it's calmer in the storm
Speakers are crying like a forrest in the rain
I was so alone with my thoughts and my pain
And the darkness closed like a mouth on a wild night
I'll never be free
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
I can't stand on my own anymore
I can't stand in the stain of the broken and poor
I can't break what I held and it never was true
In the mirror what I said was I lied to you
And me and everything I see and everything I could
Tried so hard to be good
For myself, for you, for the hidden and divine
For everything but I can fail just so many times
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
I can't stop when I feel like stopping
At five A.M. just cry, shoot, copping
The perfect life was enough for you
And ever enough to see me through
For all the lies that were spoken in waves
And the way we lived as an affront to the days
Was an affront to the things that we cared about
Was an affront to everything that we cared about
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way, oh
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way (light my way)
Light my way (light my way)
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way (out of the darkness)
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way (light my way)

Thanks Moby ~
Thanks !
been dropping that ball for two thousand years, what would expect to be different?
Beautiful.
I'm a Metallica fan, through and through but Moby has consistently made songs that I've loved. This song is purity. The live version on Colbert is a gem.

Moby is a little less pretentious
@@ZeroOskul Let's not forget the added burden on our Allostatic Load 🤯
@@detectivedave Yeah, that's what it's about, but in plain English:
>>The long-term activation of the stress response system and the overexposure to cortisol [The Primary Stress Hormone] and other stress hormones that follow *can disrupt almost all your body's processes.* This puts you at increased risk of many health problems, including:
*>>Anxiety, Depression, Digestive problems, Headaches, Muscle tension and pain, Heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and stroke, Sleep problems, Weight gain, Memory and concentration impairment*
That's the allostatic load.

@@kdpowers I agree I get the 18 album vibe with this song.
Whenever feel unwell, this is my escape.
What a beautiful tone...! don't mind if moby is anti-trump, liberal, or whatever haters scream.... THIS IS REAL MUSIC MAN! NO THAT SHIT OF BIEBER, PERRY, CYRUS, ETC..ETC... Moby is #1 in Art!
Bieber is an amateur !
perry is shit !
this is real popmusic. !!!!!
Must be liberal and anti-trump...great
I'm not sure I would label Moby as anti-trump, liberal, commie, or whatever. I think it's more like he is just a caring person who cares about people, animals, the planet, a hope for some sort of peace in this violent world.
PROUD to be an Anti-trumper!
Grazie since 2000 you was and still are a light of hopness and a warm hug 🌻
"This Wild Darkness"
Apportioned like madness in season
Bracing all like a breaking of reason
With every night lost, and every day torn
With a drama feeling calmer it's a comma in the storm

And the darkness closed like a mouth on a wire
And night, I'll never be free
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
