True Detective Season 4 brought me here. This song made me cry. I've always loved Moby back in the day, and it's good to know he's still out here making quality music.
I think it also played at the right time. The season is probably going to be divisive when it ends, but if you ask me? The vibes are immaculate. And I'm speaking as someone from the tropics. I don't exactly relate on a personal level with the icy setting. I'm loving every frame so far.
That's quite simple as for the fact he was raised with high integrity and moral values, inside Jehovah''s Witness old kingdom hall in his youthfulness !
It's an honor for me to write you, Moby, although you may never see this comment. I´ve been listening your songs since I was a child. I don´t know how you can create those beautiful songs, with them I can yearn for the past, I remember with hope. Your music has something very special that I can´t describe. I only know that it reminds me of loved ones, special moments of my life, and I think that all this has helped me to be a better person. Thank you Moby.
I feel that with other music. Exactly how you wrote it to! But it is now we discover the songs we missed, perhaps should have heard, that's radio for ya.
True Detective Night Country Part 4 brought me here. This episode literally was soo emotional that they put an amazing array of music with great songwriters. 🙏🏻❤️
Don't be discouraged or sad for a too long time, stranger-friend. It is always darkest (on the surface) before the Sun comes up at the dawn, before the Light starts shining through the cracks of the old world, bringing the dark up to the Collective Attention, so that more and more people are starting to see the dysfunctionalities of the old, so that people can make the conscious decision to step in to the Light, into a dawning Golden Age. Humanity is starting to wake up! Peace!

The best thing about Moby's music is the haunting melody, the melancholy tinged with sandness and soul behind the electronic and techno sounds. No other electronic artist does it better in my opinion.

Thanks man! Your music made me who I am today! You touched my heart so many times! It would be nice to shake your hand just for a second, to say thank you for everything you don't even know you did for me! I'm sure I'm not the only one. THANKS MAN!!!! ❤
"This Wild Darkness" Apportioned like madness in season Bracing all like a breaking of reason With every night lost, and every day torn With a drama feeling calmer it's a comma in the storm Speakers are crying like a forest in the rain I was so alone with my thoughts and my pain And the darkness closed like a mouth on a wire And night, I'll never be free Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way I can't stand on my own anymore I can't stand in the stain of the broken and poor I can't break what I held and it never was true In the mirror what I said was I lied to you And me and everything I see and everything I could I tried so hard to be good For myself, for you, for the hidden and divine For everything but I can fail just so many times Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way I can't stop when I feel like stopping At 5 A.M. just cry, shoot, copping The perfect life was enough for you But never enough to see me through For all the lies that were spoken in ways And the way we lived as an affront to the days It was an affront to the things that we cared about Was an affront to everything that we cared about Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way Ooh, in this darkness Please light my way Light my way
So true and so sincere. My heart started beating faster to hear these words. They give shape to the pain in a way I never could have. This is for all those who are in and pain and who are suffering. We have a way out in the music. This is my anthem.

I cannot find words to say how incredible this song is and how amazing it feels to listen to it, driffting far far away with thoughts, just to sit in calm place and slowly, bounce my head as the song repeat and repeat and repeat. I'm so gratefull for this song and feel so lucky that I discovered it :) And I am surprised its not so popular somehow as it should be!

This song fits perfectly with the grief I have from losing my mom. It's rare to have a song hit so on the cord. I miss you mom, you didn't deserve to die from that horrible virus the way you did.

This is beautiful. I thank Moby so much for allowing us a glimpse into his soul. There are times when I feel like I must be insane -- because I can't shake the visual in my mind of our society slowly succumbing to overpopulation, environmental destruction, and mass exploitation. I tear up in public, thinking about how close we are to darkness, and feel like some kind of alien for thinking these things while the people around me are carrying on with their daily existence in a relatively apathetic state. The Little Idiot videos, and the overall thematic commentary provided by so many of Moby's songs, make me feel like I'm not so alone. This life may often be a bitter and desperate battle for those who sincerely care for all, for the bigger picture, but it does not have to be a solitary one. I hope I can meet others who feel the same way some day.
We are all together bro! I have the exactly same feelings as you! World is getting stranger and stranger but i KNOW that a change is coming soon! Crazy times to be alive i know :)
Sincerely caring does not make you unique... but it does make you extremely rare. Keep on asking and you will find answers, they are out there, I swear it to you. But you can’t give up... unless you want to be like everyone else
I totally can relate to what you wrote. It's a time where being awake to the state of the world almost hurts because we can all see where this ends. I think for me it was 2016 with the destruction of the Great Barrier Reef by about 60% (since then it's been hammered over and over and, for a number of reasons, is dying) that I realized how serious things have become for all life on Earth, not just ours as humans on land. But no matter how dark it gets, believe me when I say to you that you are not alone. Many live quiet lives very awake to it all, just living day to day, but do try to take comfort in the fact that many people care deeply. And that caring about each other and about nature is a key part of what makes us truly human, so never forsake those feelings. Instead, cherish them.
You have created a lot of amazing things. Some of them I have known since childhood and have fond memories, other things I know now, and can cry because of this.

@@detectivedave Yeah, that's what it's about, but in plain English: >>The long-term activation of the stress response system and the overexposure to cortisol [The Primary Stress Hormone] and other stress hormones that follow *can disrupt almost all your body's processes.* This puts you at increased risk of many health problems, including: *>>Anxiety, Depression, Digestive problems, Headaches, Muscle tension and pain, Heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and stroke, Sleep problems, Weight gain, Memory and concentration impairment* That's the allostatic load.
first of all u little moron i do understand russian, secondly if you have been listening to moby as long as i have been you can see that the instrumental and chorus is the way he used to do it long ago same for piano chords so stfu.
I have always liked Moby. Feels good to listen to him. His music pin points all my emotions. Anyone out there living with a mother, father, sibling, aunt, uncle, boyfriend, girlfriend, friend that are chronically abusive...get away from them. Seek a mission, shelter, church. Seek out someone to help you find a stable healthy place. Don't allow them to hurt you. Emotionally, physically, verbally. It's not worth it. You will end up like myself 33yrs old with health going down hill. As of tomorrow the abuse I endure from my mother will be no more.
Hope you're able to overcome it, I too have a very abusive mother that I tried to help for years but as of last week I have cut ties with her. It's really not easy because they are soo good at making you fell it's your fault
fantastic artist moby , blues , punk, jazz , electronic music , impressionant talent, superlative head and imagination !!! the best theme "porcelain" pure talent !!!!
In these crazy times, & on this morning of changing to standard time (Israel), when darkness gets even more focus... this beautiful deep prayer came to my consciousness. I've been listening to it in loop...................

Oh how deep is this song. I can feel each single word 😇😇😇 Thanks a lot Moby 🙏🙏🙏 you remain one of the rare singers spreading peace and love in your music. Love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a beautiful tone...! don't mind if moby is anti-trump, liberal, or whatever haters scream.... THIS IS REAL MUSIC MAN! NO THAT SHIT OF BIEBER, PERRY, CYRUS, ETC..ETC... Moby is #1 in Art!
I'm not sure I would label Moby as anti-trump, liberal, commie, or whatever. I think it's more like he is just a caring person who cares about people, animals, the planet, a hope for some sort of peace in this violent world.

Yes, episode 4 me too.

Been a fan of Moby for decades, but True Detective Night Country E4 brought me here. I had to literally stop the episode midway, and seek this out!
Same! I'm a mega fan of Moby and knew I'd heard the song but came searching! So glad I found out.

An awesome prayer 🤲
Ohh Moby, you really are one rare species, full of deepest love and empathy.
That's quite simple as for the fact he was raised with high integrity and moral values, inside Jehovah''s Witness old kingdom hall in his youthfulness !

I just heard this song on True Detective. I forgot what a great song it is! Thanks Moby!
This song is so relevant today. We need to find the light!
Great comment!
Moby thanks you for being such a wonderful human being 😘
I feel that with other music. Exactly how you wrote it to!

True Detective Night Country Part 4 brought me here. This episode literally was soo emotional that they put an amazing array of music with great songwriters. 🙏🏻❤️
Beautiful song, but never, never had I felt such a deep emptiness in my soul, with what we are doing, tears come to my eyes
Peace!
You really are not alone. Thank you so much as I know now I'm not alone

We are blessed to be sharing our planet & this time in our lives with Moby. We met once - a genuinely warm & gracious man.
The best thing about Moby's music is the haunting melody, the melancholy tinged with sandness and soul behind the electronic and techno sounds. No other electronic artist does it better in my opinion.
I go back to this song time after time. It makes sense, brings me comfort, and expresses my feelings when times deal me a bad hand. Helps me to move.
I like the flow of the song and the clean sound, those qualities remind me of Moby's Oldies

Moby is back ! Whatever you do punk, rock, techno, trip hop, ambient,... it's always fantastic !
Holy crap. Moby is still getting better and better.
I had a Wonderful time being in this music video with my singing friends! :)
Thank you ❤
This is my absolute favorite from him! Can’t handle how amazing this is! Thank you Moby for all the gifts you give the world!
Crazy times to be alive i know :)
i’m here
Sincerely caring does not make you unique... but it does make you extremely rare. Keep on asking and you will find answers, they are out there, I swear it to you. But you can’t give up... unless you want to be like everyone else
I AM ALL IN. Now, let's find our TRIBE~~~One Love
Moby , eres muy , muy bueno y todo lo que haces lo acompañas con unos vídeos espectaculares. Gracias 🙌🙌
THE GLORIOUS SON’S OF GOD.
JESUS CAN GET US THERE!!!!!!!
So poignant & beautiful. Sad, though uplifting. Moby on point, evoking empathy for our changing planet. Epic. Thanks Moby.

Beautiful.
I'm a Metallica fan, through and through but Moby has consistently made songs that I've loved. This song is purity. The live version on Colbert is a gem.

Moby is a little less pretentious
@@ZeroOskul Let's not forget the added burden on our Allostatic Load 🤯
@@detectivedave Yeah, that's what it's about, but in plain English:
>>The long-term activation of the stress response system and the overexposure to cortisol [The Primary Stress Hormone] and other stress hormones that follow *can disrupt almost all your body's processes.* This puts you at increased risk of many health problems, including:

this is some oldschool moby now!
უწმინდური მამაო ღორმენ yeeeeeee
agree! nice that he's actually use a real choir too.
Total agree with you !!! I love it 😍
какой нах олдскулл, че ты несешь....кота за яйца тянет!
first of all u little moron i do understand russian, secondly if you have been listening to moby as long as i have been you can see that the instrumental and chorus is the way he used to do it long ago same for piano chords so stfu.
Like a prayer that illuminates!!!!! thank you Moby 💚
OMG, this song is special. So peaceful n brilliant lyrics and Mody have done the best
In these crazy times, & on this morning of changing to standard time (Israel),
when darkness gets even more focus...
this beautiful deep prayer came to my consciousness.
I've been listening to it in loop...................
On my tinnitus journey. In this darkness please light my way.
😎

T seikert have you heard of Dr. John Azumah from Ghana and his works of The Legacy of Islam in Africa?
This is the vision you can gain by meditating and deep contemplation ... Moby is sharing his inner visions and inner sound ..such a Lovely being
How comes the most dystopian music is always the most beautiful?
because the money runs out as soon as it sees things getting ugly.
Because it means someone else sees your world in ruin and you're not insane.
Because everything that has a beginning, has an end, apart of the eternal.
Fail, Bach wasnt dystopian.

my father passed away while ago and this song pop up ,and i feel like in this wild darkness please light my way
Thank you, True Detective!
I posted this to my google classroom for my 100 plus students to enjoy. Mobys music along with Steve Watts animation....both inspiring and masters of their craft.
Oh how deep is this song. I can feel each single word 😇😇😇 Thanks a lot Moby 🙏🙏🙏 you remain one of the rare singers spreading peace and love in your music. Love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was here wayyy before True Detective as a Moby fan of the 1st hour. My idol since childhood, still accompanies me through adulthood.
What a beautiful tone...! don't mind if moby is anti-trump, liberal, or whatever haters scream.... THIS IS REAL MUSIC MAN! NO THAT SHIT OF BIEBER, PERRY, CYRUS, ETC..ETC... Moby is #1 in Art!
Bieber is an amateur !
perry is shit !
this is real popmusic. !!!!!
Must be liberal and anti-trump...great
I'm not sure I would label Moby as anti-trump, liberal, commie, or whatever. I think it's more like he is just a caring person who cares about people, animals, the planet, a hope for some sort of peace in this violent world.
PROUD to be an Anti-trumper!
Wow.. forget about prayers from the book. This is real life right here in these lyrics🙏🧡.
Waking up with this. Thanks again Moby...!!!
It just remains an incredible track. I still get chilly bumpers with every listen. This man is touched, in a quite appropriate way
lyrics :
A potion like madness in season
Bracing all like a breaking of reason
With every night lost and every day torn
With the drama feeling calmer and it's calmer in the storm
Speakers are crying like a forrest in the rain
I was so alone with my thoughts and my pain
And the darkness closed like a mouth on a wild night
I'll never be free
[Chorus]
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
[Verse 2]
I can't stand on my own anymore
I can't stand in the stain of the broken and poor
I can't break what I held and it never was true
In the mirror what I said was I lied to you
And me and everything I see and everything I could
Tried so hard to be good
For myself, for you, for the hidden and divine
For everything but I can fail just so many times
[Chorus]
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
[Verse 3]
I can't stop when I feel like stopping
At 5 A.M. just cry, shoot, copping
A perfect life was enough for you
And ever enough to see me through
For all my lies that were spoken and ways
And the way we lived as an affront to the days
Was an affront to the things that we cared about
Was an affront to everything that we cared about
[Chorus]
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Oooh
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
Ooh, in this darkness
Please light my way
Light my way
