「Mixed Nuts」 from Official Hige Dandism is an insanely fun piece to play on the piano and I simply love the groovy bassline of the song. Once again, I tried to combine as many musical elements from the original piece as possible without needing more than 2 hands. (Sometimes I wish I have three hands though)
The beginning part in 0:08 (aka the car chase in the opening animation) is literally chaos incarnate on the piano and honestly, I have no idea what I was actually playing… I actually wanted to smash the keys randomly but at the end I still created some sort of a pattern. I guess the inner perfectionism in me doesn’t allow completely randomized piano patterns after all, haha.
This piece is essentially a piano etude for the left hand because of the fast octave bassline in 0:18 which requires a lot of stamina and focus to play. But I loved playing the octave bass line so much I even played it again for the final chorus in 2:46.
One of my favorite moments in the arrangement is actually the small top melody in 0:29. The joy and playfulness in this moment perfectly captures the positive nature of Anya from Spy X Family. I have to say, Official Hige Dandism is really amazing for composing a song, which fits perfectly well with the theme of the anime.

One question (or maybe two) though: How long did you take to get this take with all the octave walking bass? And do you pay more attention to LH or RH in those sections?
@@nayu_ During practice my entire focus was almost 99% on the left hand (you can also see it in the video: my head is always focused on the left hand in 0:18)
The right hand is essentially playing blindly. This piece requires a lot of muscle memory, but once you pull it off, the satisfaction of the octave bassline is simply unbeatable!

I love how Animenz exacerbates the difficulty of any piece he touches. Like if he did ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’ it would be like:

Like all your arrangements, it must already be the 30th time since its release that I've listened to this one. Listening to the original version, you might think it's impossible to make it sound right on a piano, but once again you surprised us all.
You became my biggest inspiration Animenz, if I'm still standing today and not eaten away by life, it's thanks to all the hopes you gave me. In life, I'm someone so ordinary that people quickly forget who I am, I have very few friends and very few things that motivate me. I had no reason to live, my only daily activities were to listen to you play the piano and complain about everything and nothing.
I never really wanted to listen to myself about what I liked, even if everyone since my childhood tells me that I like the piano. For some reason that I don't know myself, I never took it seriously, when in reality I've been listening to your music and even classical musics for so many years (i discovered your channel 7 years ago with the "This Game" 2014 arrangement). Today I'm 19 and I started playing seriously at the beginning of the year 2022, recording myself playing, totally inspired by you. I feel like I finally became someone a little less ordinary when I started playing, and I felt so comfortable, many times I cried in front of my piano, playing anything, this instrument makes me travel through dimensions.
As you could tell, I love classical music and anime music, I could only love your content.
I will now become an excellent pianist no matter what, I am finally taking online conservatory lessons (I will try to get money to get real lessons there), and despite the fact that I didn't start when I was a child, it wont prevent me from having the time to become an amazing pianist. I promise you that one day I will be able to play your arrangements but also create my own. Thank you for everything Animenz, I'm not sure you see this message but if it can inspire some of you, that's enough for me.

As someone who knows nothing about playing piano beyond the keys are named certain letters, this seems like one of the more difficult pieces you've made, especially in the last couple years. Am I wrong?
Well done Animenz! I am currently addicted to this tune (and the anime). You always find a perfect balance between adding your own flare and style to songs without straying too far from the source melody. The original melody is killer, especially the slight riffs/modifications on the chorus melody 2:55-3:25, so I’m glad you kept those in! Absolutely phenomenal once again!

Basically Animenz was so happy not that he accomplished the play so elegantly but because his wait to eat the mixed nuts was over and he could indulge in
