'MAGIC' NOT WORKING!
Error message: No solution for vertex.
For weeks I struggled to understand what I was doing wrong. Sometimes the 'MAGIC' happened; sometimes it did not. Now I know why.
Solution:
After selecting the base point or displacement, make sure you DO NOT specify a second point of displacement which is too far (vertically) from your base point.
Having said that, thumbs up to the owner of SabeerCAD. Excellent job👌.

Pls, on my AutoCAD 2018, the move is not applying to the roof but when I try offset it works but display the bottom of the roof on top of it as well. What can I do

Just follow my tutorials step by step . You will definitely get the result . To move the solid roof you have to give solidedit command and go to face option and then take move option and the select the face to be moved .

extrusion using a path seems valid only on 90deg angles of the polyline on the xy plane. however, i tried using it on polyline with acute angle and the extrusion ignores the path of the acute angled polyline. is this true or is there something wrong on my drawing?

You must have selected a the wrong object or the object you have selected may not be closed and continuous . Just make the pline profile once more picking the point the correct order , when you have reached the last but one vertex , just give "close" to exit the pline . Then you extrude with the taper angle

I cant do roof slope, every time i tried solidedit then face then extrude but never went full sloped. it always keep halfway but i did put high random number up to move
Just repeat the steps all over again.
Is that possible to work in 3d plan and then switch on to 2d mode? I need also 2d plans and 3d as well.

As shown by you I have extruded the profile in a tapered path at 60 degrees and with a height of 500mm. however when i try to move the top surface t a distance above the roof i get a message that there is a modelling operation error and there is no solution for a vertex.I am not getting the fuul sloped roof. Kindly advise where I am making a mistake. regards
While you extrude dont give the extrusion height . Instead you can pick a point on top as I have shown in the tutorial.

i had the same problem at first , but solved it by changinf my view to 2d wirframe and the selecting the face very close to the corner and it worked.

Hello sir , always having problems when using a 60 degrees taper.
hi when im doing the solidedit command, selected face, selected move, then selected a base point, then selected a final point it doesnt do the magic. it says "Modeling Operation Error: No solution for a vertex."

hi sabeercad, Im a student and i learn autocad 3D by myself, and i base on your tutorial to learn but i get a problem like that : when i want to draw a polyline in a plan xOy, the polyline was draw in a nother plan like xoZ. tuan dung Tran You have bring the UCS (x-y plane) on the face where you want to create a polyline . Just disable dynamic ucs before aligning the ucs .(Ucs can be easily aligned using UCS/ 3POINT option)

You can try different visual styles using the SHADEMODE command...

I stuck on solidedit level too. I had to do 30 angular roof and I do this:extrude>taper angle>30 (maybe there is something wrong)>50; and next solidedit>face>move... and my roof is so high. Please help
To get 30 degree Inclination for the roof , The angle of Taper should be 60 degrees (90 - 30)

Plesase hepl me, I have proplem at solidedit function, example, I make a rec 5000x5000, ext, t, 60, 500 => ok, same your tutorial. Continuous with Sodidedit, f, m, choose top face, choose base point but after second point=> no thing change.
If you want to make the top face to get intersected at a point there is an easier way. No need to give solidedit command . just click on the extruded object , you will see an arrow at the center of the top face pointing upwards. Click on this arrow (grip) and move the mouse upwards. There you will see the faces intersecting. All the best...

got it!except for the parapet molding part...i can't create the pl arc, don't know what i'm doing wrong, that's why it won't extrude!hahhaha! (what i did was draw a different molding in wcs then made use of the 3d orbit then move it...)

whenever i move on solidedit command, the autocad would always reply: change in topology detected. i can't close the entire slope with any of the solidedit options including the offset.

i am trying to solidedit command for roof slope but i got modeling error topology detected how can i solve this issue .
While you use solidedit / face / move select the top face by clicking right at the centre of the roof . Then follow the steps accurately as given in the video
