Very nice playthrough, thank you for that! The story with elder sign is that when I first learned that there are more boardgame other than monopoly and uno, I started to watch ytube videos to see some of them and since I am a lovecraft fan (ex-cultist I would say 😁), naturally I found out about arkham horror lcg and eldrich horror. So I went to a store to buy the first one (AHlcg) but they didnt have it so I went for eldrich instead. But the owner understood I was a rookie so he tried to sell me elder sign instead for more easy. I didnt want it. After 30 plays with EH (whitch I love) I bought AH lcg and even though I liked it, I ended up selling it because of all the expansion needed. That was 6 years ago. 2 weeks ago I bought Elder sign as an impuse, I believed that It would scratch an itch of EH because I dont have time to play it now. I LOVED IT , I want to buy everything that is there for it. Should I have listened to that retailer, I would have spared my pocket some money and time and possibly I woud have elder sign complete by now 😁. Anyway I would really love a playthrough of the other expansions too. Omens of the deep look fantastic, but I would like to see how you will do in gates since it is rated as the hardest I think. Have a wonderfull day and greetings from Greece😀
Thanks for showing this one. Elder Signs is the only board game app I have, other then tabletopia or TTS. Now i realize I want the actual game. the app doesn't do it credit. This was much more fun then the app. Thanks
Great job on the game and the video - I would love to see some more play throughs of Elder Sign and the various expansions from you. There is a shortage of high quality play throughs of this game on RUclips.
I’m loving this vid. Two things: The Wild side of the Red Die may be used at 4 Investigation When monsters spawn from rewards or penalties, they must be placed on the Adventure that spawned them.
In difficult tasks, you want to be adding red/yellow dice as early as possible (dont wait until you are low on green dice). If you had done that you probably could have saved some items/clues...
I do! I haven't played it solo, it makes me soooo tense though, lol I have had my daughter roll the dice for me when I'm playing, but have not let her play a whole game yet.
A bit late to the party, but if you ever played the digital version of the Elder Sign game, the Red die Wild symbol can be used to fulfil any single task requirement, so it can count as any symbol from any other die, 1, 2, 3, 4 Investigation, Terror, Lore or Peril
Thanks for the run through. I don't get Elder Sign too much on the table of late. Also didn't realize I was playing the game wrong at some point. I'm guessing I don't play the clue tokens correctly.
If it's like the app, removing doom and reading it does not trigger the penalty a second time. 13:45 just goes to show that if you roll enough dice badly, eventually you'll hit successful results. 19:00, Agatha killed it. 20:00 the red die can be a 4 investigation. You got it either way, but it it has a 4 on a face. 11 elder signs seemed tough, but a few 3s got there quickly.
I've got this game with the Gates of Arkham expansion and I like it. What do you think the Unforseen Forces adds to the gameplay. I've been hesitant since the Gates of Arkham does away with so many other cards from the base set. I haven't felt it needed more. What am I missing?
Unseen Forces just adds more item/spell/skill cards. I think it also introduced Blessings/Curses. It's actually the only 'expansion' that adds to the base and still uses the majority of the base game stuff. You will find that with the other ES games in the series, they add more cards - items/allys/skills/spells and will introduce a new item (Pharaoh adds relics) etc and then have their own set of adventur3/mythos Cards as well as a different entry card.
I used to own Elder Sign, but got rid of it when the iOS app started to offer a better overall experience than the actual game. But now you've gone and made the game and these expansions look so dern good that I must re-acquire them! Grrrr!!!!
Can you just bring those re-roll cards into play even though you were not actually rolling the yellow dice? Also, at one point you just saved a roll without focusing - is that possible, it has been long since I played?
Yes. relics let you bring in dice you do not have access to from other cards, like the yellow and red dice. I think he saved the die because he was using clues to re-roll, not declaring it a fail and not focusing. :)
Do you play Elder Sign much? I just have the base game. I only ask because I don't think the balance is very good. I beat it pretty convincingly nearly every time. I don't think I've ever lost at it, actually! What about you?
Short answer: No. The only expansion that is really added to the base is UnSeen Forces, the other "expansions" are really stand alone games that use 'some' items from the other games. They have their own entry cards, mythos deck and adventure cards. The only thing that is consistently shared between each 'expansion' are the common/unique/ally/spell/skill etc. cards.
Welcome! I play it a lot and with the help of a friend whose play tested it since day 1, I've learned the rules pretty well. Playing well is another story though. LOL
how re-playable is this game? I have been looking into a lot of these lovecraft type games (arkham horror, eldritch horror, etc) and I am very interested, but I am just not 100% sure. I can only buy one game every couple of months so I prefer to save my money for games I will replay a lot and then head over to TTS for stuff I just cant wait to play but also am not sure about spending the money on due to the low replay-ability or prohibitive cost (Kingdom Death: Monster)
Xabbusan very replayable mate. When you add in the other expansions you have alot of options. I would say that you get the unseen forces and streets of arkham expansions, ad thr streets of arkham changes the game for the better.
As far as Lovecraft games go... I think Eldritch Horror is where it's at. Lots of re-play value and the big box sideboard expansions are fantastic (Mountains of Madness, Under the Pyramid, & The Dreamlands). Only downside? is the amount of components piles up quick - so set-up and take-down can take 20-45 minutes. the games can last a few hours as well. I play solo mostly so it doesn't bother me. I'll set up a game and play through it over the weekend. Arkham Horror the Living Card Game is also very highly rated but i haven't played it.
I generally also play solo, so I actually usually prefer longer games over shorter ones. And lol I kind of like setting up/packing away games. I think it's an OCD thing lol.
penoyer79 i solo as well 100% of the time and arkham horror lcg is excellent. I bought everything up till the end of the dunwich legacy but gets to be a money pit so stopped. Eldritch horro is superb as well but you need a couple of days at it. Elder sign isnt as bad and its quick when playing solo. 90 mins a game i would say.

Incredible dice rolling. I've never seen anybody win every adventure in Elder Sign.
Haha!!
Thanks for showing this one. Elder Signs is the only board game app I have, other then tabletopia or TTS. Now i realize I want the actual game. the app doesn't do it credit. This was much more fun then the app. Thanks
Couldn't agree more

got you!!
I’m loving this vid. Two things:

When monsters spawn from rewards or penalties, they must be placed on the Adventure that spawned them.
Thanks for that!
The card art & layout in this Pharaoh expansion is beautiful.
Agreed!
Great play through!!! Watching you play this was so much fun. I would like to see you play more the expansions
Yeah the game is fun and can be really random. I do enjoy chucking dice though!
Seriously thinking about getting this... I love the Arkham Horror theme, but crap dice rolls brings out my inner rage like nothing else. lol
You just can't take this one too seriously. Sometimes you go through a string of deaths and everything goes wrong. Have a laugh and replay.
HAHAHA Yeah you have to like dice to like this one!
In difficult tasks, you want to be adding red/yellow dice as early as possible (dont wait until you are low on green dice). If you had done that you probably could have saved some items/clues...
Great points George, thanks for that!
I love this playthrough, almost as much as I love this game!
HAHAHA You are one that loves this game huh? It is quite fun, have you played with your daughter?
I do! I haven't played it solo, it makes me soooo tense though, lol I have had my daughter roll the dice for me when I'm playing, but have not let her play a whole game yet.
Cool!!! It is a lot of fun to play with kids!!
A bit late to the party, but if you ever played the digital version of the Elder Sign game, the Red die Wild symbol can be used to fulfil any single task requirement, so it can count as any symbol from any other die, 1, 2, 3, 4 Investigation, Terror, Lore or Peril

I have this expansion but have not had a chance to play it yet. Thanks for the video. Really thematic!
Appreciate you watching!
Thanks for the run through. I don't get Elder Sign too much on the table of late. Also didn't realize I was playing the game wrong at some point. I'm guessing I don't play the clue tokens correctly.
Oh shoot? What were you doing wrong with the clues? They give you re-rolls of as many or as little dice as you want!
Well Call me stupid but I thought it was just to reroll and that's it. LOL
Hahaha now they are even more powerful!!
I think you convinced me to convince my friend to pick up this expansion. Love how it looks.
One of my favorite expansions!
Your dice rolls are just epic!
Your rolling skills are perfect for videos lol! I'm surprise how lucky and close your rolls were
It was really fun to record!
He who runs away, lives to fight another day.
Agreed!
Should be in my collection for sure
Hope it is soon!!
Another great playthrough!
Thanks!!!

Thanks for these David! Some really fun thematic rolls! I will say I like the hidden chambers a lot!
I've got this game with the Gates of Arkham expansion and I like it. What do you think the Unforseen Forces adds to the gameplay. I've been hesitant since the Gates of Arkham does away with so many other cards from the base set. I haven't felt it needed more. What am I missing?

Shelley has got it!!
I agree with you: unseen forces and gates of Armham are better expansions
Yeah they are good!!
More of this game for sure
Nice!!
Ok, this game just ended up on my 'to buy' list :)
Nice!!
my wife disagrees with our opinion :D
I hate when that happens!!
Great job Colin!
Thanks!!
12:40
I was screaming internally. :’O
Haha!!
Great game great dice 😊
Thanks mate!
Take a shot everytime he says cool =)
I think you would be drunker than a skunk!
I used to own Elder Sign, but got rid of it when the iOS app started to offer a better overall experience than the actual game. But now you've gone and made the game and these expansions look so dern good that I must re-acquire them! Grrrr!!!!
HAHAHAH sorry!!! I will say I like this over the app for sure!
Thanks for the video.
My pleasure!
I need to play this one
Hopefully you can soon!
Again ! :) Blasting this expansion ^^ I loose more than you, unfortunately... ;)
Hahaha!! Yeah this one I did pretty well thanks to those dice!!
Can you just bring those re-roll cards into play even though you were not actually rolling the yellow dice?

Yes. relics let you bring in dice you do not have access to from other cards, like the yellow and red dice. I think he saved the die because he was using clues to re-roll, not declaring it a fail and not focusing. :)
As usual, Shelley has got it thanks!
Do you play Elder Sign much? I just have the base game. I only ask because I don't think the balance is very good. I beat it pretty convincingly nearly every time. I don't think I've ever lost at it, actually! What about you?
The base game is pretty easy IMO. If you are consistently beating it then I'd try playing one of the ones - Gates, Ice, Deep or Pharaoh.
I agree with Shelley. The Gates of Arkham is the best expansion to get for more difficulty.
Those cards look real small, any problems shuffling??
Hmmmm gotten used to shuffling small cards! Ha!
I haven't added any expansion yet on my base game. Does the expansions have a campaign feeling like the one from the mobile app?
Short answer: No. The only expansion that is really added to the base is UnSeen Forces, the other "expansions" are really stand alone games that use 'some' items from the other games. They have their own entry cards, mythos deck and adventure cards. The only thing that is consistently shared between each 'expansion' are the common/unique/ally/spell/skill etc. cards.
Thank you Shelley!!

Hahaha!!!
I do not have your lucky roles! :p
8 re-rolls is nothing. I once went up to 27 just to check how long it can take.
27?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! MAN!

Happy 4th of July
Same to you!
give me more:P
HAHAHAHA!
You accidentally made this look ridiculously easy 🤣…
U cheated , i have never won even once in solo play with this expansion TT
Hahaha I have never lost! Played 4 times!
