Such an amazing opening visual for a dead show too. GD has always had a theme to the way they write their sets death rebirth second set with crazy jam into drums and space rebirth into Stella or some ballad to ground again. This visual to start the wall of sound opening to the 13 pointer opening to 710 then with the song picking up there’s a literal takeoff from “home” into the cosmos is just awesome and hits perfect.

I've seen dead and company numerous times unfortunately I can't make it to the sphere this year lol but one thing that I was really curious about when they announced that dead and company was a thing, was how is John Mayer going to fit into this hole thing? And in my opinion he totally changed my mind I always knew he was a phenomenal guitar player but he was a perfect fit for dead and company and he actually surprised me on a few occasions so all in all I approve and I hope Bill gets better and plays again
I heard the sound is better is you sit in the seats but looks like that is not going to happen. Cant wait for next weekend!! Are these seats 400 level?
I've been to the Sphere for a U2 show and a movie in addition to this last night. Sound will be amazing regardless anywhere however the "butt buzzers" (haa) are used a lot during this show and definitely add to the experience. People rotated between standing and sitting quite a bit depending on the song. I recorded from row 17 of section 306 - right side on the isle.
Awesome intro. Kind of perfect, actually. Cool to see the fans so receptive to the new technology. Thought maybe with older fans they might kind of reject it. Looks like everyone was loving it, though.
This is the lowest hanging fruit ever, way too easy, the definition of IRONIC. Here goes: The Warlocks changed their name to The Grateful Dead on Dec 4th, 1965 at a Ken Kesey Acid Test. Safe to say psychedelic light shows became part of their shows like NO OTHER BAND EVER. Every show I went to at Winterland had a ‘Liquid Visuals’ lightshow (look up right here on RUclips). I wasn’t into LSD etc. so I rarely watched, but to others I’m sure the visual combined with the music was the whole idea of why the band actually put it up there. To begrudge the people who watch is to begrudge the band which begs the question: am I the only one who thought the last fans in the world to engage in trolling or raining on other people’s parade would be Dead Dead fans? H.L. Mencken quote: “Puritanism: “The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, is happy”. Grateful Dead Puritan “The Haunting fear that if too many people out there start enjoying a different rendition of “their” music, what they’ve “owned” and deified will somehow be diminished”.
@@geoffspakes You must be the guy that was in front of me at the last show I went to. However, since I wasn't at this particular show, I suppose you are correct that it doesn't affect me. The Dead have always been open to allowing recordings of their shows, but not at the expense of others. They used to have zones in front of the soundboard where people could record. If you went to a Dead show, you knew not to stand in front of this area, and those recording knew not to block others.
@keenanhall8759 One doesn't need to hold their phone up above their head to record. The phone was below my face while recording. I glance down to make sure I'm catching what I want, but not even my view is blocked.... Only the idiots, unpracticed or old at heart hold their phones up above their heads 🤷🙄
What an amazing experience! Thank you for sharing this!❤
The visuals are just incredible! I love seeing the SF landscape!
Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤
The Sphere is a giant canvas that takes wild imagination to fill. This one fits the bill.
Now the deaf and even partially blind can enjoy going to concerts too, and feel more part of mainstream society.
Thank you for sharing!

I CANT BREATHE UP HERE GO BACK DOWN!
Потрясно!
Incredible
I approve of The Sphere.....
Love me some Phish at the Sphere! Sunday night was off the hook. This Dead and Co looks amazing. Wish I could do it all. Just money 🤑
Phish??? Ugh.
Doesn't phish have member in the band that got busted for being a pedo???

We get to see Jerry's view.
Wow that would've been awesome
At 3:19 I can see my old apartment.
My sister lived on Haight for a few years. Would imagined it's changed quite a bit over the years.

Imagine Pink Floy performing there 🤩
Unbelievable fucking amazing 🤩🤩🤩
I love the cut 😂
So the dead already blew phish’s opening visuals out the water (no pun intended)
Were you at the Phish shows? The visuals they pulled off were far superior than a picture of our globe.
Love me some Dead and love me some Phish!! All is great entertainment and how lucky we are 🤗
Not even close dude.
Just like the quality of the music.....Not even close.
Phish is terrible…zero redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Wild.
Real question. What are the specs on the computer used to run these graphics?
Right! I'm a nerd and have wondered the same! They have their own camera system now to record I know, but not sure about this side of it.
wow.
Im not gonna lie. Thats shit would make me sick as hell. Anyone with motion sickness would suffer inside that.

Track title, please!!!
I'm a new dead head (this was my first show) so I don't know these things haaaa 😂😂😂
Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo
What's the name of the song playing?
ok, I sussed it - it's Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo (everyone was singing the wrong words!)
I want to see zach bryan at the sphere
Wouldn't you feel kind of dumb holding your phone in front of your face for the whole show only to find out it's on You Tube?
Just leave people alone and let them enjoy however they want to. It doesn’t affect you one single bit.

It’s ridiculous. I never went to concerts to watch some stupid video screen.
