    At the time that the 'new' class 87 was captured in film, they also had a maximum speed of 100 mph. It was from the summer 1984 timetable that they were permitted to run at 110 mph, by which time their cross arm pantographs had been changed to Brecknell-Willis pantographs.

    Class 304's ran on the Altrincham-Deansgate route before Metrolink took over in 1990. They were blue & white livery.

    love these trains and the sound of the slamming doors the noise they made, i use too go on the railranger with my friends back in the 90s £1 a ticket from 9am until 12pm top video, God bless you,

    An era many would yearn for - it was a great era for variety but I find the modern era more efficient but less interesting rolling stock wise - fewer types and too much of the "same old same old'

      From a program called Diesel & Electric on 35mm: Volume 3. I'm not 100% sure, but according to the description of what's on the DVD, it appears to match what is seen in this video.
