  • (Hey. I made a non-ear-piercing version of this: • (REUPLOAD) [SNES Remix... )
You ever tried to make a jet engine into a rise under a flanger with SNES sounds? Yeah, me neither. So I just grabbed the lead synth from Glacius' theme and with a little automated panning, it worked.
Seriously though, this one was a headbanger. And not in the good way, but also in the good way. Long story short, this remix took much more effort (and miracles) than I would have guessed. I'd also like to apologize to Mick for butchering the drum solo before the "requiem for a cinder main" section.
Some of the major breakthroughs this project: This is the first SNES remix with only 8 channels (which if you're wondering, yes that is the amount the original KI SNES OST used), I conquered my fear of pitch bending, I used very little echo on this track, I learned how to write in-key just for this and I still had fun doing it.
Big thanks to the team behind ChipsynthSFC, your KILLER plugin made this experience a lot less painful. Here's a link to the product in case you wanna get into SNES music yourself: www.plogue.com...
(Note: it does require money and an understanding of where to download SFC libraries.)
    "Inferno" by Mick Gordon

and the plugin Chipsynth SFC by Plogue
    SNES Sound Libraries used:
    [Killer Instinct]
-General: Cinder and Announcer Voice Lines
    -Trailblazer (Cinder's Theme, SNES Version):
Kick, crash, hi-hat, bass, chugchug/rhythm guitar, synth lead, power chord? (dun DUN), FX sting (SHING).
-Trailblazer (Cinder's Theme, Killer Cuts Version):
Opening guitar neck grind (Recorded from the soundtrack version and processed through ChipsynthSFC. Fun fact: this is the same sample that Mick Gordon used, sorta.)
    -Controlling Transmission (Glacius' Theme):
Icy synth lead (used as "flanged" rise).
[Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time]
Snare, backup natural delay guitars (why Mick why), lead guitar.
