Looking at brake design for a university project for the second time. My first time was about 3 years ago, in second year, and I struggled so much to find a good explanation on the exact mechanism. If only I had this resource back then.
That's not the point of his animations, they are only about the function. That's why the animations are so good, because they are what it is all about. After somone understood the function of sth due to the animation, he can dive deeper into the topic via literature or videos with less ornate animations, since they aren't needed anymore.
👍 thanks sir for make this impressive video to simply know the working principle of the bike braking system, sir I also interested to know the name of software used to create this impressive video if possible
That’s my question too. I looked many animations about how Disc brake works, but none of them explains how the brake pads stay away from the brake disc while releasing the brake ;(
There is no clearance on brake pads, not at all. It is constantly dragging ever so slightly. You can test yourself, a functional brake should always have slight contact in between pads and rotors.
Thomas Schwenke you can test yourself by spinning your wheels when it’s on the rack, you can always feel a slight drag no matter what, because the rotors always have a high spots that will be in contact with the rotor.
Thomas Schwenke i am an autotech stident and all the wheels are like that and that’s what we are looking for after changing changing brake pads or checking brake pads.
You should of also explained on the different types of break circuits like the front t to back, not just the split diagonal and the combination semi front to back split diagonal system used on older Volvo's [ to my knowledge only Volvo exclusive]. Personally I like the split diagonal.
Saintheart Knights yeah you're right it's a square seal that actually retracts the cylinder, jump to the 4-minute point in this video ruclips.net/video/IVHdhXXNReQ/видео.html

Great you could use it :)
thank you. you have easily taught me what my college did not
This is a great explanation of the disc brakes through animation..
watching this second time for my university project,,, awesome explanation.
Perfect designs, animations, explanations and contents. Thanks 👍🏼
thank you for the clear explanation
Your videos and explanations are very good.
Good animation
Finally got it. Thank you so much.
Anthony Furney ok
Thanks so much for an insightful video!
Beautifully explain
What a great video, very clear, thank you.
Nice video but i think you should also include the advantages of fixed callipers over floating callipers and vice versa . Anyways a good video .

Reallly nice video and animation. What softwares you use?
Houdini
Amazing explanation thanks!
Good break
Thank you Sir❤️
Great racing line
Thanks.

I used Carrara 8 Pro for this animation.
@@ThomasSchwenke-knowledge thanks sir
Keep up the great work !
good informationn
an important component of the disc break is the break disk
Great video bro i love you
What makes the brake pads release though? Looking at the brakes on my car it seems like they can slide.

What's your (scientific) source for this theory?
Thomas Schwenke you can test yourself by spinning your wheels when it’s on the rack, you can always feel a slight drag no matter what, because the rotors always have a high spots that will be in contact with the rotor.
This might be a problem with the brake pad. Do you have any other evidence than this?
Thomas Schwenke i am an autotech stident and all the wheels are like that and that’s what we are looking for after changing changing brake pads or checking brake pads.
Thanks. My books say something different. For example, have a look at "Das Bremsenhandbuch" by Springer.
Good

What pushes the caliper piston back to its original position?
Saintheart Knights Springs in the guide pins
@@joepierson3859 i don't see springs in my caliper nor in the animation

Pls explain about Bearings
Which brake pad more wear in floating caliper
Question understand not again try
😄 I thought it was called the clipper this whole time. My mind has been misreading that word for 25 yrs.
why does this narrator reminds me of how its made
I came down here to post this same thing, and I am not much of a commenter on RUclips, but you beat me to how accurately similar I feel.
Please say about train transition system

Thanks a lot.
What about air breaks can you make a video on that plz ?
Good point. I'll add it to the long list! :)
Thomas Schwenke what's next thing on list.

You should make video in hindi also
