Ahhhhhhh.... this song is pure Amiga bliss... Whenever I tune into the Amiga music radio station in my brain, it's this song that I start humming first..
This would have been the best version of the song if the bell samples weren't horribly out of sync with the rest of the song. ZX Spectrum all the way with this one.
***** only the intro music or title music in the ZX Spectrum beats the other 8-bit versions such as C64 however the C64 version beats the ZX Spectrum version because it had extras such as better graphics and better sound effects
Jason Lee I appreciate the c64 had colour compared to the Speccy's monochrome but I do feel the graphics were actually sharper on the Spectrum version. The sound effects were nothing to write home about on either tbh.
Great stuff, I had a C64 and an Atari ST but never an Amiga. The quality on some of the Amiga tunes is pretty amazing! BTW, Geoff Follin was a musician as well; I think it was Mike that worked more on the programming front. Geoff and Tim collaborated on Sly Spy, my favourite soundtrack on the C64 and well worth a listen!
I appreciate the intro, this one was one of my old favorites. I only wish you'd included some in-game footage so I wouldn't need to dig up the old A500 or get an emulator just for that. ;)
any game software creations converted was good, on c64 anyway. the arcade version of bionic commando on the c64 is better than the arcade machine and the music again was amazing. these days gameplay seems to have been forgotten about with many games.
Seriously considering moving Tim Follin ahead f Rob Hubbard in my imaginary 'best C64 muscians' list. He has nowhere near the volume of work, but everything he made was out of this world amazing. LIterally just discovered Black Lamp the other week. Epic.
probably because i was like 7 or 8 years old also :) man i miss those synthesized tunes, got my A500 back up and running and listening to blood money, shite game, top music!
check out some of his c64 and speccy work. Agent x on a 48k spectrum with one sound channel.. HE MADE 4!!!.. galway is very good also, esp his c64 work. everyone goes on about tel + hubbard.. but they did great works also.
Hey, I don't mean to sound like a cheater, but do you have a MIDI of this? The arpeggios go by too quickly for me to track. BCBGEFE. . . I want to arrange it for the YM2612, though, one day.
pure follin goodness!
all those 70's riffs and runs...wakeman and yes flavours...a legend! :-D
Ahhhhhhh.... this song is pure Amiga bliss... Whenever I tune into the Amiga music radio station in my brain, it's this song that I start humming first..
A true classic.

I agree with you, even though I never played the Amiga version. I got the Spectrum version and like it a lot.
Follin does it again...
Magnificent.
This is fucking beautiful
I had this song in my head for 2 decades until TODAY!
Thank you
1 decade later...
@@doom5895 3 years later...
The Amiga version of the LED Storm music is better, but the ZX spectrum (which I had) is pretty good too.
ah, memories! Put a lot of my musical tastes these days down to what I grew up playing on the Amiga.
I actually made a cover of this one, search for "L.E.D. Shiryu".
Ops! My bad.
*****
The fixing never ends. ^_^
Oh boy, oh boy, so many memories rushing in...
This sounds amazing! It also sounds pretty awesome in the ZX Spectrum version too.
Search for my own remix/cover on this one "Shiryu - L.E.D. Shiryu". Love it!
The Spectrum version is amazing. I prefer it to this version. No version can beat the Spectrum.
*****
I love them all.

wow yeah this one is incredible... i've heard right now the atari version, and this just kick it off... :)
amazing video thx for post it!

Damn, I didn't know there was a Mike Follin who composed too!
A classic. I even covered this tune in the past.
Mike wrote Tim's Amiga audio driver, i think that's it
Sweet memories, awsome computer ... AMIGA 500 is a legend.
Agree with you MadameSommnambule, Specy version is great.
WOW! AMIGA for ever!
Its a very memorable piece of chip tunage. =)

Really fantastic, i love chip music! :D
Classic tune.
Preety solid hoverhead spy hunter set in the future type racer. Sorry for the 2 year old reply.=)
Ah, thank you.
so did I man, i didnt' mind the game (was a huge IK+ fan) but would leave this intro playing over and ovr and..... :)
Thanks for this. It's a great piece of music but I think i'll stick on my Atari ST version.
@Jarren202 My remix of this tune will be on the new volume of "Shiryu's Arcade" album. =)
probably because i was like 7 or 8 years old also :)

I build my cover based on the MIDI that was on VGMusic. search for it there.
I hate to be picky, but for this piece of music Mike Follin was the coder and Geoff was the musician.
funny that this amiga version sounds better than all the other versions, despite it being the only machine without hw synth :-)
You could do synthesis on the amiga, just not many chose to do it.

Whoa, fantastic music! How was the game itself?
Goddamn awesome. Gotta love Tim Follin's handywork with arpeggios.
@floydpink30 I really need to remix this... =)
Really? I thought the C64 BC was a ground-up reinvention.
Shows how much I know.
@floydpink30 I surely will but for now, check out my website to get "Shiryu's Arcade Volume 1". =)
In my opinion, zx spectrum version is much better
Fair enough.
did you get around to it?
oh? feel free to send it to me. =)

God i love this song, but gee the games was a bitch to play :)
@Jarren202
got nice breaks past 1:50
tune like that and David Whittaker anthems from my chilhood got me into dnb sound a decade ago
Sadly, no. The arpeggios are too fast and I would need a MIDI for those.
Mano que qui eu to fazendo aqui ? Kkkkkkkk
