Can't believe some people still can't make a difference between a Streamer's persona and who they really are, Blitzstream already expressed how appreciative he was of Hikaru and his praise, as for being overrated I don't think anyone who got a draw against Magnus and Alireza among others would deserve to be qualified as such
Especially with a grob that was winning and he was happy to draw not to choke
He also straight up beat Wesley
Nobody can deny that Kevin is extremely strong at calculations and tactics in online games, but neither Carlsen nor Alireeza took him too seriously, while he played the games of his life against them, hence the draw. I'm sure that if any IM, not even GM, unleashed their full force Kevin would not stand a chance

he's only NM because he stopped playing chess in IRL competitions for 15 years now, but he continued to play online and studied a lot chess to do his youtube videos
It's hard to choose neither doing Chess or RUclips but he is the best to balance like study in chess while on RUclips.
He has been living in Russia for 10 years, lives in France now, and has his own style... not your classical chess player... he played a game against Maxime - MVL... funny one... Kevin (Blitzstream) is good, but Maxime and Hikaru are on another planet... it just puts everything in perspective how good the super GMs are.

@@Light-mx1zj Not just a GM. Blitzstream is stronger than many GMs in blitz. Hikaru is in a world of his own, maybe with Magnus.
@@JimmyBoosterCrate Magnus is playing in a league of his own, he's been dominating the chess world for the last decade. Hikaru is a good player yes, still no match for Magnus.
@@Light-mx1zj Hikaru is the face of Internet chess, in which Magnus is more of an occasional guest star. Have you seen how he clobbers other super GMs? He's easily as good as Magnus in online blitz. OTB, you're right obviously.

why do Nakamura and Carlson not castle anymore
I randomly decided to watch high lvl chess and im so lost did he take his own queen at 10 min? How does he think so fast? I want to watch more.
He was making a preemptive move to recapture on that square if the opponent captured his queen. If the opponent didn't capture the queen, his premove would have had no effect. But it's a way to make a move you're expecting to have to make without using time off your clock.

Can somebody explain what the hell WGM FM IM and NM mean? I know GM mean grandmaster, but what is IM NM FM AND WGM? International master? National master? Idk what for FM, or WGM.
The W is for Woman so Woman GM(WGM)
FM is Fide Master (also WFM)
IM and NM you got it right (also you have WIM and WNM)

And in online blitz, he also beat So with the black pieces , MVL and managed a draw against Magnus playing the Grob, basically the worst opening in chess lol
