- Have you ever considered staying at The Swan and Dolphin hotels at Walt Disney World? Do you frequently book and then cancel because you're just not sure it will really "feel" like Disney? Well, that was me before our recent stay. And today, I'm bringing you all the pros and cons of staying at this luxury resort that is almost completely Disney and I'm sharing why, for many (including my husband) that might make it the BETTER choice!

They also have 18 food location. Also they have Starbucks coffee in the room
We have stayed at the Dolphin 3 times and LOVE it. We stay at Kidani before our Disney Cruise and Dolphin after. The only con for us is that we love these 2 resorts SO much, we never try any of the others. Although, we have talked about trying another resort, but taking the boat from Epcot over to the Dolphin to eat. Great food!
Can’t wait to try Swan in March! 🦢 all my Mommy friends love that they don’t have to deal with breaking down the stroller when going to Epcot or Hollywood Studios either by walking or the little boat. 🙌🏽👍🏽
We stayed at the Dolphin last year and loved it!!, Buses ready to take you to the Parks by 8:00am or you can take the boat to either Epcot or Hollywood studios which the Boat has A/C which help so much! The price was amazing and the restaurant in the Dolphin were out of this world, we’re going back next year and staying for 10 days.
Did they have the WDW hotel music on their TV??? You know when you turn the TV on in a Disney hotel and the park info comes up and Disney music is playing? I LOVE that music!!! I listen to that TV music on RUclips ALL the time, I even downloaded an app on my phone that has that classic Disney music, it is so peaceful and nostalgic!
They did!! And they have Stacy must do Disney channel!
LOVE this review. We’re going to be staying at the Swan very soon for our Disney trip, and this will be our THIRD time! Yes, THIRD! We love it there and even as a kid I really enjoyed it. It felt enough like Disney to me yet was relaxing enough to unwind and have a good night’s rest. The restaurants there are phenomenal, and fyi you can have a character breakfast at Garden Grove in the Swan there! You can meet Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale and it is often less crowded than on-sight Disney character meals. I remember going every morning there for breakfast and got to meet the characters with very little wait time and no reservation. Definitely stay there at least once. We are constantly blown away and have the best time.
Thanks Jen!!!!! My husband even commented that this was so informative!!!!! I just got the nurse's discount for the first few days of our upcoming trip before we move to our DVC resort. your review really helped us make the decision to stay there!!
Oh I’m so glad it helped! I really do love it there.
We stayed at the Swan a couple of years ago. It's smaller and nicer than the Dolphin. Walking distance to the Hollywood Studios and even closer to Epcot. Disney buses take you everywhere else. We really liked the Swan and would stay there again. Probably not so good for families who want meals and snacks included but that's the only issue. We have previously stayed at Disney hotels and prefer the Swan to those.
I just became a Disney travel agent so this was a really helpful review! Thank you!!
I’m so glad it helped!
I was impressed with the area when we went through their last year on our way to the mini golf course. The proximity to Epcot and the Boardwalk is a big pro in my book.
Totally agree, Katy! Cannot beat the location!
Just a clarification...Disney Resorts and Swan Dolphin will transfer luggage to or from each other with zero issue. I do it all the time.
Thanks, Brian! Super helpful!
Staying at Poly for the start of our Disney trip, than transferring to the swan for the remaining. How do you go about this?! Didn’t know this was a possibility
Swan and Dolphin has been on my wish list since I was 20 years old and made my first trip to Disney. One day I will get there. For now, we are trying to stay at all the Deluxe Disney with our DVC. 🙂
I love it for a Friday or Saturday night stay when DVC points are super high!
I'm so glad I found this review. We are staying at the Dolphin for 6 nights next month. This will be our first time at this hotel. Thanks for a great video /review. Is there anything we can send you from the parks?
Hi there! I was wondering how your stay at the Dolphin was? My husband and I want to celebrate our 5 year anniversary at WDW with a Dolphin resort stay, but would appreciate any feedback on whether it was worth it, or could have been better (?). Hope you had a great time! :)
I’m excited! I’m staying here for a solo getaway vacation, and I picked it for all the reasons you stated. Great food, great location, great amenities, great price, great vibe
Ok. This was impressive. I pretty much swore off the Dolphin after their refurbishments. My family used to stay there two weeks every summer when I was younger, so obviously I was used to the “classic” Dolphin. I was shocked by the new lobby and the bar in it. That Daisy’s Garden was removed. That they took the jukebox out of The Fountain when Bluezoo opened. Wasn’t too thrilled about all the changes. But.... after watching this, I like the Dolphin again lol. Very impressive video! You do such a good balance of the pros and cons. I’m going to go watch this video again now lol. Excellent job 👍🏻
Wow thanks, Alexis! I never saw the old Dolphin but I totally relate to not liking change so I get this. Yes, go and give it another chance!😍😍😍
Love this review! Thanks so for much for sharing! We have dining reservations at Shula coming up in our May trip and I have heard terrific things. Was a very happy surprise to see you had posted a review of these two hotels. The resort fees are going to be the death of me! So sneaky, charging even more for the stay! Handy tip to know Swan and Dolphin are Marriott affiliates. Have they always been? I don't remember them ever showing up in my Marriott Rewards info. Anyway, Good Stuff, and thanks again!
The Marriott affiliation is new since last year! And the resort fee is becoming fairly standard practice at most hotels, so good to get in the habit of checking that before you book. I’m so glad you liked the video!!
The perfect review! Using up those Bonvoy points to stay “on” property for free is alright with me. 😄 Great tip on transportation. I’m putting it in my pocket for when ME phases out.
We stayed at the Dolphin in May and the Swan last week. Our favorite hotels! Great location, great price.
I would love to try one of these resorts one day! The resort looks fabulous and I like the convenience to the parks.
I love that Disney bubble but would totally stay here based on location. It couldn’t be in a better spot
And it runs generally about $150 - $200 per night cheaper than Beach Club and Yacht Club so that's no small amount!
We’re going in February 2022 and staying at the Dolphin as Marriott rewards members. I am so excited! February cannot come soon enough!
Thanks for the review! I would definitely like to try it them one day!
You almost need to make this video again with Disney discontinuing the Magic Express and not receiving free magic bands! Haha
You’re right! And don’t tell anyone but I’m staying in the brand new tower in September.😁
Glad it was such a good experience! I appreciate the distinction that it doesn't keep you in the Disney bubble, and that it might not be the best fit for those with little ones. Thanks for another informative video. Oh, and I love that you have the Wisdom pin banner up behind you!
thank you! I love it, too! Thanks for watching!!
I looked at the Swan and Dolphin for our trip last August since Adrian was hoarding our DVC points, but of course SoG was the better deal for us. I've heard their character dining is great and comfy beds are definitely a selling point! I also just love that area.
And you know sometimes yacht club/beach club/ boardwalk are a little rich for my blood😍
We can relate to that! We also got lost in the labyrinth of hallways trying to find our room at Beach Club. 😆
Yes, it sometimes has a bit of a hallway from The Shining feel to it LOL
Thanks so much for this video! Helped me soooo much. Using my Marriott points to take the kiddos to the dolphin for a week.
You didn't mention the milkshakes at the Fountain! (How dare you. hah!) We walk over from the beach club to get them. :) It's an interesting story of why those hotels are there, dating back to the beginning of the Eisner era. It's a convenient little "glitch" in the Disney bubble, so to speak.
Right?!?? Scott didn’t get his milkshake AGAIN! But this time his fault - he was too full from all the cruise food!!
@@JenLefforge A lot of those restaurants do take tables in wonderland, btw! Next time, even if you're at the boardwalk, walk over to the Fountain at the dolphin. #seriouslyyum
I’d love to stay at the Dolphin, but that resort fee is outrageous. I think I can get bottled water for less than $32 per day.
Thanks for the review I booked a Dolphin Resort room for my next WDW trip, I’m a little nervous because I always stay in Disney Resorts
GREAT video! Also a Marriott member and the use of points is very appealing. 2 questions... 1) When staying at Dolphin, can you get Disney Dining Plan? 2) Are there rooms at Dolphin that accommodate a family of 5?
Thank you!!!
So glad you enjoyed it! You cannot get the dining plan and I do believe there are rooms that will accommodate 5!
Totally agree with all of this. The Dolphin was one of my favorite stays!
Seriously, Ryan, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!
Great informative video. I’ve been to DW many times but never stayed here. Thank you
This quarantine is great...lol! I get to catch up on all the older videos that I have missed! 🤣🤣
Right?? Silver lining!
Great review and thoughts on pros and cons! I haven’t stayed there in years. It’s now back on my radar.
Thank you so much for this! We have always wanted to try either the Swan or the Dolphin but were just not sure. Your review has convinced us that we would enjoy trying somewhere new. Thanks so much Jen!
I’m so glad, Susan! I think you’ll really like it!😍
My cruise got canceled so I booked out here glad I remembered you stayed here
Great review. Never considered it before but it seems better than I imagined it would be. Maybe someday, not sure if I’d do it with our little one right now though.
The Dolphin is a convention hotel. So you need to watch out for those. Availability may be harder during those dates.
I have always loved these hotels and have stayed at both of them. On the topic of dining I recommend Picabu in the Dolphin. It's a "buffeteria" style restaurant with good food, generous portions and reasonable priced and not to mention it open 24/7. I have also never seen it really busy so it's a great place for a quick sit down meal.
There were so many places we didn't try!! Definitely need to go back and explore more of the restaurants. We were just slightly full having just left the cruise
LOL!
@@JenLefforge Understandable, between the two hotels there are 17 different dining locations. That's one of the great things about this hotel, and when you add in the all the dining in the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk you are walking distance to amazing number of dining options!
I’ve always wondered about the Swan and Dolphin. This definitely bumped them up as a future resort option!
I think you would love the location, Kayla!
I have never heard anyone dislike the S&D. I think it's actually a little gem when you consider its price relative to its location and neighbors. I spent a large sum to stay at the Yacht Club and was largely unimpressed. I wish I had stayed at the S&D and put my money into some nice meals. Although I think I got the meal plan free that year so let me not complain....
I love this review, I am helping my parents plan a trip to Disney I already have a reservation at BWV and told them this would be a great option I was able to find a great deal that was cheaper than a moderate resort!!!
Can't go wrong either way, Alicia!!
Thanks for the input. We stayed at the Dolphin by chance because the Swan gave away our room, even though I called ahead and explained we were coming in later after dinner. They were nice enough to change us over to the Dolphin and gave us an extra room there for our trouble. The reason they did that is because one of the cons of staying at the Dolphin is they only have twin sized beds. (If you need two beds) The Swan has Queens, much more comfortable and my husband and I were traveling with my adult daughter. We do not fit comfortably on twins, so they gave us connecting rooms of one king for my husband and me and the double twins for our daughter. The pillows were terrible at the Dolphin, but it did seem more lively than the Swan. It was only 11:00 and the Swan was so quiet that I felt I might disturb someone if I talked without whispering. There is nothing like a Disney resort for sure! It’s always lively in those resorts! The Dolphin is a beautiful hotel so think I should give it another chance. (Maybe they will allow a rollaway for my daughter, or we can bring a blowup mattress since it is so roomy) The Swan was so dead, I’m not sure I would like it there. We only stayed one night and didn’t get to enjoy all that it had to offer, so now that we know what we missed, it makes me want to give this hotel another shot. Thanks again for your insight!
Great review, thank you!
The spa is very expensive and personally, I felt it to be a bit over rated. You didn't miss much, aside from Elemis products being used for facials and the cool architecture.
Yeah, I have a spa here close to home that I love and it's making it difficult for me to justify the prices in resorts. Thanks for watching!
Love the review. Stayed at the Swan a few years ago and really enjoyed our time there. However, 1 draw back may be that this resort is used for a lot of conventions, which i was apart of. Maybe not the best Disney experience for young families or first timers as you mention.
Thanks that was very helpful having 2 kids probably not the resort for us but when they are older would be nice for me and hubby only xx
Do it accept DDP credit??
Does it has early fast pass window??
Can we use the Disney transport??
First question idk
Second question you can still book fastpass but you cant use your magic band to open the door and you still have 60 days in advance
Third You can use the regular disney transportation like the regular wdw buses to the theme parks waterparks and disney springs and boats to epcot but the resort does not have access to the magic Express due to the resort isn't Disney owned it only goes to Disney owned resorts and it has nothing disney themed so If u like Disney theming dont go here
I absolutely love how these resorts look at night and how they light up the palm trees. It’s just beautiful!
I agree completely, Wendi!! Just gorgeous!
I LOVE these honest reviews. I don't think I would like these resorts either. They look GORGEOUS!!! And I'll def have to try Il Mulino one of these days...but for me, can't beat being in that Disney bubble!!! 😍 MAYBE one day I'll stay here...just so I have the experience! Great review, Jen! ❤
Definitely worth trying at least once, Melissa!! And a great option if you're favorite on property hotel isn't available!
I must admit that resort fee at the end just seemed like a sting after your vacation. When your ready to leave, looking at the bill took me a second. It unfortunately makes you feel really fast like your back to reality. But, yes we got a good deal on it. She's right you don't feel like the Disney bubble, but we really liked the pool. I really liked the location, but expect to use your own transportation back and forth to the airport and add that as an additional cost.
A big thanks to you!!!
Great job here.
You should really be a reporter for one of the morning shows on a major network.
Wait, would that pay better than RUclips though?😂😍 Seriously, thanks, Michael. That's very kind.
You’re very welcome.
Just an update since this vid is 4 yrs old. Disney resorts are not charging a self parking fee as of this comment. However, the Disney resort prices are higher than ever so can't help thinking the parking fees are imbedded in the room rates. Swan and dolphin are generally moderate resort prices with a deluxe feel.
Great comment! Thank you!
@@JenLefforge Aww! TY! I'm impressed. Monitoring YT the night before the 4th. My wife is on her way to Myrtle Beach to pick up my daughter who went with friends who are going in a different direction tomorrow instead of returning back to Atlanta and I'm watching vlogs like yours on Swan and Dolphin. I've booked us at Dolphin for our 34th anniversary in 2024 so was curious. My wife has had it on her list for awhile so I went ahead and nailed it down. We usually stay ay Yacht & Beach Club. We'll go to Wolfgang Puck on arrival night in 2024. Then next evening dinner at Todd English Blue Zoo since we want to get to bed early with Hollywood Studios day next. Brown Derby for lunch and I'll probably book us at another table service since it will be hot (when we are there) and we can cool off and relax. Not sure what yet. Maybe Mama Melrose? Next day rest at the pool and Wine Bar George for dinner. Homecomin for lunch on check out day then head home dreaming about Wilderness Lodge for Thanksgiving. My wife is Jen too. Cheers!!
@@kevbama5827 Sounds like a lovely trip! And happy early anniversary - it will be 34 years for us in February. Happy 4th and thanks for watching!
Very informative! Thanks for the video!
Absolutely my pleasure, Chloe!
Magical express is cancelled anyways, so will always stay at swan and dolphin with my Marriott Points
Hubby and I have a similar feeling when we stay at Shades of Green with all the benefits of WDW resort hotels like EMH and fast passes, but minus the "magic" factor. But a quick walk across the street to the Poly/monorail and we are cured just like that. Magical! Thanks for the review!😊
Of course and thank you for your service to our country! I've had family stay at Shades of Green and they loved it, too.
My boyfriend and I almost booked at Shades of Green this year, but with the Salute prices he indulged me and we’re going to Port Orleans this time. Good to know for future that it’s so easy to get back in the bubble!
@@melissajmeli , you will love Port Orleans, too! We stayed at Riverside in Sept and FQ a few weeks ago and loved them both! But it's back to SOG in a few weeks. Easy access to the monorail and Dole Whips for the SOG price is pretty sweet. Plus it is always pretty peaceful at SOG. Enjoy your trip!
I feel like I would love to take in the amenities there, but part of me would pay the extra money to stay in a Disney property. Some of the cons are deal breakers for me.
Totally get that, Mark Alan!
So does it TRULY feel like a Disney Resort Hotel??
I’m staying there in November and I’m almost kind of nervous because my favorite part of Walt Disney World is truly the Disney magic and how absolutely happy and wonderful it is! ✨✨✨✨
I would say you're at 70%. It definitely has a more sophisticated vibe and there is not nearly as much Disney theming. But on the other hand, you're a short walk away from the Boardwalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club so you can always head over there to spend all the extra money you're saving;).
Jen Lefforge Thank you so much for responding! This has been really helpful!
The location puts you right in the bubble and everything is so close.
So happy to see this review. I’ve always been super closed minded about this hotel... had no idea how nice it was until your videos. Maybe when our girls are older, but right now, they (and I 🙋🏼♀️) are still all about that Disney bubble ✨
I totally get that, Erin! But this is a nice option if you ever can't get into your favorite hotel! Glad I could open you mind up to the possibility - always nice to have options.
When my husband first said we were going to spend part of our Disney vacation at the Dolphin, I was very against it, because I thought it wouldn't be "Disney" enough. We've stayed there 3 times now, and it has been a pleasant surprise. As you said, it's comfortable and spacious, and the location is great. I found it felt Disney enough actually, and not like going off property. We only use it as part of a split stay with a Disney resort, so it works quite well that way. And the Swan and Dolphin are quite beautifully decorated at Christmastime; I particularly enjoyed the lighting on the trees outside which flashed in time with the Christmas music they were playing.
I have heard it's gorgeous at Christmas, Dee, and I'm looking forward to experiencing that!!
I love love love the location! Haven’t stayed there myself, but love hearing all about the resorts...honestly sounds impressive!!
It's so pretty there, Coral!!
Can you get the Disney dining plan while staying at the Swan or Dolphin? I heard that it’s unavailable to those guests.
What is the average prices ??
Hey !!! What's the thing with the resort fee ?? For what do we have to pay it?? Is it $32 per day ??
I loved Kimonos when we went a few years ago. When I stayed at the Beach Club a few years ago, we went to Kimonos almost nightly for Karaoke. I have also eaten at Garden Grove and Shula's, both of which were fantastic. I've stayed at the swan and dolphin a couple of times for conferences and thought it was a nice, being a Disney die hard I probably would not schedule a stay on my own. I love being in the bubble. Thanks for the great review.
You’re most welcome, Dean!!
Really enjoyed this review! I remember spending a day at the Swan and Dolphin back when I did my CRP programme! Hanging out at Cabanas the pool bar and swimming in the pool...from memory it was freezing as it was not heated but still amazing! Location is great and I’ve seen they do the food festival event too...would that be something you would do in the future? I’d love to see you do a video on that!
I remember someone telling me also that the black sections on the external of hotel are there because originally they were designed to have the monorail go through them!
Not sure if you have done Pros and Cons of Disney resorts/experiences before but I love the format and even keeping it positive on the Cons!
I hadn't thought about that, Todd, but I love that idea! Thank you so much for your kind words and for the trivia!!
Fabulous review - I am sorry if I missed it, can I check in to the airport the same way we can at the Boardwalk? If not can we walk to the Boardwalk and go through TSA?
I honestly don’t know if they offer airline check in! Sorry!
what is the best transportation from Port Canaveral to Swan and Dolphin ?
Great info thank you!!
My pleasure, Mark!
Last year we went there for the first time and all had drinks in the lobby the chandeliers are absolutely stunning I’ve been wanting to stay there since thanks for this video. We’ve been debating on Mandara Spa or Senses at Saratoga Springs any advice?
Senses at SSR is amazing and since the re-model, I've heard Madera is on par with that spa. I would check prices and go with the one that works with your budget! But they're all expensive because, you know, resort spas just ARE. I walked by the Madera spa and it was GORGEOUS so if you go please report back! And don't we think I need to do an exploratory trip? You know FOR YOU GUYS?!?!
Jen Lefforge I’ve looked all over for reviews on Disneyworld Spas and fitness centers and unfortunately it’s not a thing haha plus the people that do have reviews are not JEN so not interested lol! I think it’s time you go back and review some spas for us!? :)
They also don’t accept Disney Gift or Rewards cards.
hi I recently stayed there in august and it was fantastic I love your videos and keep making your DVC videos I love those and if you any tips for someone looking to buy DVC as a newcomer please let me know
I have a whole playlist! It’s on my home page and there’s tons there.🥰
Ok thank you so much 😊
Favorite hotel last time I went ti Disney
I’m there again in January and I cannot wait!
Great review! Do they do race morning transportation since they sit on Disney property?
Yes they do!!
Thanks for sharing!! I really want to go back to Disney World Soon!!
My.next trip is in 30 days and I cannot wait!!
2022 Update: Disney no longer has magic express (free transportation to Disney resorts from airport) and no longer offers free magic bands to Disney resort guests. And as of right now (July 2022) Disney still does not offer the dining plan. Therefore, some of the major "cons" listed for this resort in this video no longer apply.
100% correct and thank you!
Great review of the Swan and Dolphin resort. I have thought about staying at the Swan and Dolphin resort especially with a teacher discount.
Thank you so much!! I really think you will love it there!
Love the review! I had no idea this was on Disney property! We stayed at a Marriott using points before our Disney cruise last fall. Definitely wish we would've used a bit more points and stayed here rather than paying for Ubers to and from Hollywood Studios....
We stayed there once and yes, we liked it. Two other things I should mention-she's right , you do NOT get the Disney feeling there. Also, prepare for an extra hotel tax on their Picabu restaurant. I don't know if that tax was also on the other restaurants. SHe's right, they don't do things for your bags-you need to take care of that, but they do have a bell services if you need it stored. I felt the buses were NOT that frequent. Be ready to wait awhile for your bus, but to get to Epcot it's very convenient. Oh, and also house keeping. You can opt out of house keeping, but we did not. AFter the first day, it got harder for us to get our house keeping to do the room. I don't know if it's because it takes us awhile to get ready in the morning so we weren't like the usual park goers who are out of there by 8 a.m. We had do not disturb on our room, but took it off by around 10 a.m. Each time, if I didn't go specifically to the maid to tell her to make up our room, she would consistently skip our room even though I had the do not disturb sign taken off by 10 a.m. So just a couple other things to add.
Great input, Kim! I'll say I've had those same type things happen at a Disney operated hotel as well (including the poor bus service) but it's not very magical no matter where it happens!
I didn’t realize you lived in Scottsdale. I live in Peoria, AZ.
Yup! Scott and I both went to high school and college there.
Before this video, I have never really thought to stay. Also, I'm gonna say again that those purple ears look fantastic on you!
Thanks, Leah! And you should stay there you would love it!
@@JenLefforge I'm looking at a girls trip with my mom and sister so that might be great option! Thank you
This might be a silly question, but are there any ways around the resort or parking fees? For example, do you get charged the parking fee even if you don't have a car?
No charge at all! All the transportation in Walt disney world is free for guests to use.😍
Jen Lefforge I think I either phrased my question poorly or I'm misunderstanding your response. Yes, I realize the Disney transportation is free (or no additional cost). I'm not really asking about that. What I'm curious about is whether the Swan / Dolphin will charge you a parking fee even if you're not parking a car in their parking lot. Sorry for the confusion!
HaphazarMe oh gotcha! No, no parking fee if you don’t have a vehicle.😍
Hi Jen, thank you for the nice review of the Swan and Dolphin hotels, it was very complete and you touched on all the major points! It does sound like a nice option for those that want to be at Disney but not in a Disney hotel. I wonder how it compares to say the Hilton in Disney Springs? I am interested in that because I am a Hilton Honors Lifetime Diamond member and get a lot of perks with that. Ken
Having never said that I couldn't say, but I can tell you the location is much better! And the plus of having access to Disney transportation. Thanks, Ken!
What’s the Kids Club?
Those resorts sound nice, but I still need my bubble!!! I think if my husband stayed at either, he would enjoy the air leak in the bubble!!
Omg, Margy that’s the best line ever! He sounds like Scott!🤣🤣🤣😍
Hi! Thanks for the tips! Happiness and blessings to you and your family! ☀️🌸❤️
And to you and yours, Jessica!
Is the 32 a day resort fee per person?
No, per room. Great question!
@@JenLefforge thank you for responding!
Did you get to use the club lounge as a platinum member?
Interesting I really should have I think but no I didn’t.
Now since it’s switched to Bonvoy we are titanium so totally should have asked about that!
@@JenLefforge Well, I called and apparently they did away with the club lounges for both Swan and Dolphin. Bummer.
PointsTravelHappiness well crud! Thanks for checking!
Love this video, thank you! Hotel question... I recently stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the room (not vacuumed in harder-to-reach places) compared to the cleanliness rooms on the Disney Cruise Line. have you noticed a difference between the cleanliness of the deluxe vs. Moderate? Would I not have this problem in a deluxe room and it would be more on par with the Disney Cruise Line staterooms? Or maybe I should just go with swan and dolphin! Thanks for any insight!
So, here is my housekeeping experience at Disney: 90% of the time, it's fantastic. But about 10% of the time, we experience what I call a bad day. And I've had the bad day at moderates and deluxe resorts. The best thing you can do it immediately call and ask to speak to a housekeeping supervisor and they will send someone up immediately. We actually had a slightly dirty bathroom on the dream but I had my disinfectant wipes so just took care of it (I know, gross). All that to say, when you travel enough, every hotel and every ship is going to have a problem here and there, but for the most part Disney housekeeping is very good and we ALSO had great housekeeping at the Dolphin. Sorry that happened, though!
Very helpful thank you so much! I've only stayed at disney that one night so that is good news!
Hey Jen, I always enjoy your info. I found your channel back when we were considering becoming DVC members and we could not be happier with our decision. With that said between dvc and being APH there always seems to be good deals on property even without using your points. I guess what I’m trying to ask is how did you come about staying here? I definitely understood the pros and cons but how did it rank for the money? Thank you for all your Disney knowledge!!!
Obviously there are a lot of factors in the price of the room but for this trip, for us, the rate we found through Marriott was less expensive than the AP rates for the Epcot area resorts. We could have done a cheaper AP rate (at one of the moderates or values) but wouldn't have had as good a location. Hope that helps!
Perfect. Thank you. We have walked through there a couple of times, it looks amazing. Definitely storing this information.
I should mention, too, Josh, that this hotel seems to have a pricing structure similar to cruises - if you book far in advance you can usually get a better deal. They also have discounts for nurses, teachers and those who support educators. Also sign up for their email list because they send deals out that way, too.
And I almost forgot to mention they offer an annual pass holder rate! You have to call for that one.
Great tips! Thanks, I will. I love bargain hunting!!
Thanks so much for this! I think my boyfriend and I may wanna look into the Swolphin option for our first ever runDisney trip next January, since we’re doing a Disney bubble week this year and he may not have recovered from the resort sticker shock. 😬 He’s military and I think also a Marriott rewards member, so we can probably find a good deal if we keep our eyes out. Do you know if the Disney transportation extends to the buses for races for these resorts?
Oh! I saw that you answered this for someone else! That’s incredible that they also do race transport. Definitely gonna give these serious consideration for marathon weekend. ☺️
I would definitely consider it!
This is a helpful review!
I'm so glad, Corrie!
We stayed there one year after our cruise. The trip was colored by the fact that there were thousands of cheerleaders staying there at the same time and they were OUT of control. Really ruined our opinion of the resort. Will have to try it again
Yes that can happen. I’ve heard of it at Pop, too. So sorry:(.
Jen, did y’all eat at The Fountain while at the Dolphin? We’re considering it for an upcoming trip and I’m not finding many reviews.
I did not BUT I am back there in January and would love to try it as it looked super fun!
Jen Lefforge I’m 80% sure we’ll try it in November. If I do, I’ll report back! If you try it, make a review video. There are NONE in the RUclips-niverse. (How is that possible?!?)
I'm not sure I like the sound of a "resort fee".
It's becoming pretty standard practice across the world and I'm not a huge fan either - just have to make sure you factor it in when determine the "true cost" of your room.
Great info. What about dining plan? Can you get it?
That is a great question! I don’t know the answer - I think no since their restaurants don’t take the dining plan?
No, the Swan and Dolphin are no eligible for the dining plan, which also means no access to the free-dining promotions.
Thanks for sharing! Never really consider staying at this one before. 🙂
I think a lot of people overlook it! Thanks for watching, Zenobia!
Two bottles of water for $32. Not really a bargain.
Thanks for watching! Obviously the fee covers more than just the water that was just a perk I liked. Have a great day!
@@JenLefforge sure wish we could go to Disneyworld as often as you do. You have tremendous knowledge to share. We've started saving to take our grandsons in a couple of years. Definitely stay on Disney. May be the only time they'll get to go and my ladt time. I also want to go to Hawaii one last time. Love your ears.
We were in Hawaii 2 years ago and I just love it there!!!!
@@JenLefforge I went 5 timrs between 2001 and 2007 before we had our financial crises we've almost recovered from. I told my dsughter to sprinkle some of my ashes in Hawaii, hopefully not soon.
Recently stayed at the Swan. The Italian restaurant was awful!!!
I am a total "bubble" person and I think it is totally enough of a bubble feel. My wife disagrees.
Lol!! Well, happy wife happy life so maybe for you it’s just a one or two night stay?🤣😍
