For a small thing like this usb size mini pc. I think it works amazing . I have a lot of fun from this gamestick even more heavy games you dont expect are running nice on the linux 3d game. Ok not al games are smooth but who cares with so much games on it . I think grate value for the money if you into retro experience.
First I love your channel. But for mega nerds (read me) I would sometimes like a followup on products. I bought one my self. Installed new build V2. They fixed some issues. 1. Now first letter in game works.search now possible. 2. Press SELECT + START gives you a menu in most emulators so you can save progress. In mame it quits game. No more recycle power. 3. High scores are saved. Now I can finally sleep at night. 😂 4. In select game mode SELECT + START works so you can change aspect ratio and also add additional or other controllers. This makes the Y6 from meh to useful. Greate for mamegames. Just wish more was bundled. When is Gunsmoke for instance?
7:39 THEY are not improving anything. That menu is built into MAME, including the cheats and key/controller remapping. All they did was put the stock MAME onto the stick ;-)
There's a guy on RUclips who's unlocked the system on this. I bought one as it's only £40. If someone makes a SD card with the unlocked version I'd definitely buy one. Not got the time to do it myself.
It's really easy to do if you're a little bit ok with some software on your computer and know how to do simple tasks on it. Got one myself but it's the gamestick x2 plus. It got emuelec 3.9 on the stick an also a closed system. I made a new 4.3 emuelec 128 gb stick. only took about 15-20 min to put the software on. It's a bitch to copy all the rest of the games though haha. If you want to know how a can explain it here to you and everyone who is interested, You can't brick the stick cause the software is on the memorycard and not on the stick. Just let me know, i'm here to help. Cheers
Now that looks like a better game stick then any other one out there. But still the sound off some of the games is missing that sucks. I say that could be fixed if they gave you a bigger micro SD

I've bought mine and been playing the he'll out of it and yes there is a shut down future just gotta hold start and select once in the main menu and you can also turn it on by turning the hdmi Channel on your TV don't have to unplug power in and out most of the time deepends on how long you have it shut off for figured that out myself.

An odd emulator. "Mortal Cumbat 4" (PS1) has texture filtering. A feature PS1 cannot do. There's an image filter that is always applied. Again, sprites in Mortal Kombat II lack shadows.

@@smokey12341000 That is the biggest problems with cheap devices. It's locked to it's proprietary firmware (and games list), therefore it cannot be fixed. What you got, that's it.
can you remove the badly sorted roms and add your own? has anyone built a custom OS? can you use other controllers? this would be good to see you test. sorry if you answered these and i missed them, but these are my major questions when looking at these game sticks. thanks for the review. it's unfortunate that the scene for these isn't as active as for handhelds. They're a really handy solution for a cheap retro multiplayer device.

I wouldn't be surprised if you need to do something else to make that work, like add the game to a list in some other file. --- Maybe try backing your micro SD and poke around in the file system a little?
I have a few Super Console X's and I'm able to add a few of my own roms to the sd card. I got this Y6 for my friend but the SD card isn't letting me add anything to the roms directory. Is it somehow locked?
Great videos but can you please change the colour of the writing in the game title box when your reviewing a game system as I've got very bad eyesight and find it really hard to see white lettering on the bright lime green boxes! Other than that and your obsession with fighting games you have a good and informative channel, so much so that I've ordered a "Super Console X" for Christmas! ♥️👍🇬🇧

I got this it's best powciky thing I've played god of war working just gets to hot 🔥 to play long it affects the games dremcas for one play 30 mins n see it drop with heat if you know a way to cool it let me know

Would this play better using external power supply? Those extra watts might help as the TV USBs are quite low powered?
There is no really performance boost.
I did this couple of times when I had problems with the boot in general.

You can all fix this by using a custom firmware. You can then make all the changes you want. This one is limited and not open.

Another con is you can't add games to the folders😢 even if u copy the file the system won't recognize it

Yes it’s a better CPU. Worth the extra dollars. Also with V2 of software you can now use SELECT+START to save progress and quit the game.

Junk. First retro console I ever bought. The combination of too much heat and the cheap SD card fried mine after about 45 minutes.

No up to 4 wireless controllers. 2 is shipped in the package. Pretty crappy ones. But work. You can add your own Arcade Stick.
