    Ordered brembo pads and MTEC drilled and grooved for the G31 530d as I have always struggled with braking and heat, especially around 140mph to a stop. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference.

    Thank you so much for your video. I’ve bought the same ones for Honda Civic type r EP3. Followed all the procedures and realised they are slightly thicker then the originals but they supposed to fit. Do you think are wrong?

  • @martynstillman
    @martynstillman 3 года назад +4

    I may be wrong but I've watched the vid a couple of times and I'm sure you have the front ones on the wrong side as they're facing a different way to the rears ?

    • @tony5006
      @tony5006 11 месяцев назад

      The front is right, it's the back one which is wrong. It belongs on the other side of the car. Try to picture what happens to the water in those grooves when the car is going forwards.

    What size are the discs? Diameter and thickness? 324mm x 30mm?
    And would the caliper carrier be identical mounting points to the pre lci 520d ? As the pre lci 520d are originally 310mm x 24mm discs. Looking to upgrade mine to 324mm but will have to do calipers with carrier aswell to be able to fit and just wondering if the holes will line up on the knuckle ? Thanks

    Surely that rear disc is fitted on the wrong side of the car George? OR the front one is. In that direction it won't throw the water out of the grooves going forward as the front one will.

    • @GeorgeAusters
      @GeorgeAusters  11 месяцев назад

      It doesn't really matter which way the grooves are, they're not for expelling water, they're for scraping off old pad material.
      The thing that does matter on the direction is the vents because air flows through them to cool them. Hope that helps!

      Kasis Sipa it’s not the wrong way round. The direction of the grooves don’t really matter. It’s the slots inside that dictate the rotation. Since MTEC discs are straight slotted, they can be put on either way.
