My Dutch/Malinois has been one of the best companions I've ever had. Everyone thought i was crazy for taking her in but going on 2 years i have no regrets.
Wonderful breed that I would one day love to own, but you'd have to be prepared to make a big commitment when doing so. Another really informative video from Rocadog. Great channel, I've learned so much about some breeds that I didn't even know existed before. 👍
I had 2 Dutch shepherd's I have brindle. Both rescue dogs 🐕. One passed one of natural causes 1 still alive and well. I had 3 Belgium Malinoise they are my favorite. More active eager to learn and please you. Dutches bit more independent more stubborn just a bit compared to Belgiums. Also Belgiums do not warm up to strangers right away. Surprisingly the the Dutch shepherd's warm up to human super fast. Both relentless watch dogs are great in every regard. I warn you now the police and military use these dogs for a reason. Relentless energy especially the Belgiums Dutch shepherd a bit less. But compared to a German shepherd dog not even close. If you don't have time for these 2 breeds don't get them. I recommend a German shepherd as the greatest family dog to me. These other 2 are on Meth or Crack if you don't pay attention to them. At least for 1 hr minimum a day for activities not just a walk. Stenuless ball play intence is the only speed they know. You can't just take them for a walk like other breeds they need activity and stimulus every day for hrs really. There a full time job. Not good for apartments ever you need a backyard with plenty of room. Think of them a USA navy seals of dogs especially the Belgiums. Look beautiful and in the movies now " Dog " if you seen it. That's pretty close to the truth about the extreme beauty dog breeds. If you don't have real time and place for them to run free in a fenced yard don't get them you will regret it trust me. Go for a German Shepherd for your family 👪 😀 I hope this helps you ask any questions you like I'm no expert but I know these 2 breeds inside and out. They are vastly different than a good ole Labrador retriever or German Shepherd.
@@Rocadog no worries it was honor also rescued my Belgiums 3. The last Teyla made it to 18 years of age. The other 2 pass of natural cases before. I miss her she's gone about 5 months ago. So all I have now is beautiful female Dutch shepherd Nikki she is 11. Still in great shape and watches the yard plays in the pool and loves life. I forget one point if I may. To your viewer's I think is important. The difference is a Dutch shepherd will lay down in between ball play when there tierd. Mine has a darker tongue with a few spots on it common in some. The Belgiums have a pink tongue and will NOT rest or lay down. Look at a Belgiums tongue if it's Purple stop playing with them you could play your Belguim to death. I did almost one time at the beach he just dropped no warning my first Belgium. I used electrolytes rubbed it on his gums he came back to life lol ready to go. Never did that again I watch there body language now. So if you see your Dutch shepherd taking brakes looking for shade or laying down they had enough. Give them water shade let them chill out. Belgiums stop same thing water shade and watch there body language. That pink tongue turns purple snd out dropped stop that's it no more. I know this because I had 2 Belgiums and my first Dutch shepherd's playing together. I noticed the subtle differences in the breeds. Just hope that we have no more of these two breeds in a shelter for being themselves no other reason. People did not do there research. Perfectly beautiful Belgiums and Dutch shepherd's that were put in a shelter because of humans not doing there due diligence. Peace dog lovers ❤️
