enigma - a person of puzzling or contradictory character that was biggie, one persona of him was outgoing, flamboyant and charismatic, yet another side of him was tortured and tormented. Zvese zvandinonyora zvinobva mumusoro mangu and I'm willing to back it up all day.
That’s actually sad. You could never tell. I feel very fortunate to have grown up listening to his music. Despite all the sadness he still remained charismatic and performed with a smile. RIP Legend!
On Second thoughts ,Bhundu Boys as a band died more because of the deaths of three key members. They did well without Biggie Tembo here, not to underplay Biggie's key role. Most bands will die instantly if they frontman goes but this particular soldier on and was done by those tragic deaths. I think they would have been another Muddy Face band in the making had those other guys stayed alive.....When Job Mashanda left Muddy Face, Cephas & Co rejuvenated the band!
I have Kuda Matimba's contact details. I did a gig with him in Harare band featuring Kenny Chitsvatsva in 2007 in Plymouth. We did a few Bhundu boys tribute songs, I was on the lead. Im sure he has Kennys contact details.
Saw them and met them often enough at The Mean Fiddler, London, NW10. Brilliant people, embodying the spirit that ended Rhodesian Apartheid and kicked the Brits out
@Zvabaz You are right...I had not read about his troubled life after he left the band. Sorry, did not mean to offend you but was not sure about referring to someone as enigmatic...
That’s lead guitar sounds different on some notes. Shackie tried but you can actually hear the difference without Biggie Without Biggie Tembo the Bhundu boys were never the same. Everything changed from the songwriting to the actual beat itself. There was no more creativity.
i liked n stil like this group although they passed away, sad, except 4 Rise Kagona.the mistake they made was to compose that song which they profane God.u no that song im sure
Who is here in 2024 ?

Love this song. Time defining song for the 80s Zimbabwe. May your uncle’s soul rest in peace.
I was fortunate to see them live twice! Awesome
Andy Kershaw said when he took John Peel to his first Bhundu Boys gig, Peel just stood transfixed with tears of joy rolling down his face
@@Organise_Space I also saw them twice in London and Andy Kershaw introduced them as "The last word in having a good time!"
@@Organise_Space 💖💖💖💖 Love it! 💖💖💖💖
My uncle...👏
I cannot imagine a better moment ...
I remember the boys fondly from the time they came over to Scotland, made their first GB tour and John Peel played them on his radio show.
RIP John.
Complex, melodic fantastic music.
Saw them live a Sheffield polytechnic.
These guys were talented 😢

RIP

Good old music
@Zvabaz You are right...I had not read about his troubled life after he left the band. Sorry, did not mean to offend you but was not sure about referring to someone as enigmatic...
@Zvabaz do you know what 'enigmatic' means kana kuti kungonyorawo zvauya mumusoro..
Ko zvine basa reyi
Shakie on lead!! This was after Biggie left
After they stabbed him in the back lol Biggie was the band in my humble opinion
who is singining lead vocals? rise?
Rise yes
Death robbed us.
Mkoma RISE KAGONA. He is a legend and the only surviving Bhundu Boy.
rise drove biggie to death and killed the band. biggie was bhundu boys!!
takudzwa masendeke we will never know.According to Rise Kagona the great Biggie Tembo is the one who pushed for Jit Jive which was not their style.
George Manyika drummer is alive
Innocent Zvihwati, I think Biggie knew what they were best at. Jit jive was their speciality indeed.
@@troyroy01 his name is Kenny Chitsvatsva he is Roki's uncle,he is in Ireland also .
Rip Rise Kagona

Kubva kwemujoni kambani yakabva yafa,Biggie Tembos vibe is missing on the stage,it's evident.compare with another show which biggie led this song
Really quite a flat performance . Sad really.
To my ear,.sounds just as good.
Biggie however was right when he said they couldnt do it without him, perfomance is sadly flat.
True
i liked n stil like this group although they passed away, sad, except 4 Rise Kagona.the mistake they made was to compose that song which they profane God.u no that song im sure
