In verse there are two chords. Ok, that's not a copy. Then I wait to for chorus. Chorus will tell if this is a copy. And also in chorus are the same chords, played with same dynamic and pattern.
@@ukkovuorela4196 no. The verse has a descending fill that changes the entire feel of it being two chord progression. The chorus starts with a step up and the chords don't land on every 2nd beat like about a girl does. Different key different feel. Even in the same key it's played wildly different and even lacks a chord. I can see nirvana knowing about this band but I can't see any redeeming rip. Songs that get stuck in an artists head can create a tonal center, happens all the time. To me a rip has to be without a doubt, separate from influence.

Not close enough to be firmly considered a copy. Only the two chords of the verse and the first chord in the chorus match, and similar tempos are shared. The vocal melodies are entirely different. Considering that there are only 12 available notes in a single key, that most male vocal ranges fall near the same key, and that MILLIONS of songs and more have been written, it’s just as likely a coincidence as not. There are probably hundreds and hundreds of such coincidentally similar sounding songs, but the only reason anyone notices this one is because how popular Nirvana got.
This literally sounds nothing like about a girl. Guitars only have a limited number of combinations of notes that sound good - people seem to forget this
The fact that Krist Novoselic spent years of his childhood where this band was is more than a coincidence in my opinion. I can easily see where Krist could have gotten it from.

A riff or a chord progression is not a song, just a part of it! Secondly, About a girl goes from Em-G to C# in the chorus, which is very weird and original, while this one goes from Em-G to B. But Cobain haters don't think, just hate.

Nirvana's song goes from Em to C# which is very inconvenient and brilliant while Hrast's song goes from Em to B which isn't as ingenious as what Kurt did.
They’re similar but Kurt’s key change to go from Em and G in the verse to a C# major in the chorus is more sophisticated and surprising to the listener than the B Major they go to here. And Kurt droning in E and B in his vocal melody is perfect. Still pretty neat song.
I dont think kurt stole this, more so he might have heard it in the background while hanging out a krists house. The melody got stuck in his head but at some point he forgot it was already a song. So he picks up his guitar and starts trying to put what was in his head on his guitar and ended up with about a girl
You’re being delusional here. This song sounds exactly the same. Novoselic being croatian… He definitely knew this song and showed it to kurt. No doubt. It sounds the same. Same chords, same progression, same drum fills. Please.

Come on guys ! I love Nirvana but this is clearly a rip off ! The melodic vocal part is not the same ok … but it is definitely not a coincidence for the rest of the structure ! If you consider Krist has croatian origins everything’s even clearer ! Kurt was inspired a bit too much for many of his songs… 😕
Krist Novoselic the bass guitarist from Nirvana, spent years of his childhood in Croatia with family members .That's where he stole the idea for the Nirvana song '' About a girl'' Thumbs up for greatest coverband of all time ''Nirvana''.
Except the first two chords (!), About a girl have a very different vibe from this. Believe it or not, these guys are not the first ones to use Em / G in a song. This one has also a Beatles type of sound. I don't call them "cover band" because of that.
But Nirvanas melody MUCH better then this. Million intro started wit Em-G chords -)))) Nirvana greatest rock band worlwide/Fnd who the f..k is ARNI VALJAK )))))))
@@nresnik when music lives inside such a ridiculously simple framework it’s hard to say it’s plagiarism. One thing that would prove beyond doubt would be if the melody matched in any way… which it simply does not.
Eh. I just got a mint condition remaster. First. The album ROCKS. I have no idea what they are saying, but it was ahead of their time. SECOND. I learned the song on guitar. Similar, but way off.... trust me.
Its very hard to say kobain copied it. Cobain is known for playing very short riffs and experimenting to come up with something. Now it is also a posibility cobain heard this song around krist and decided make an improved version. Regardless about a girl sounds different enough that is more taking inspiration from then copying
So Teen Spirit was just a shitty version of More Than a Feeling, the riff from Come as You are is taken from a half dozen other songs and About a Girl is yet ANOTHER ripoff?? 😂 SMH your “revolutionary band” right here.
For all the dummies who think About a Girl is a ripoff of this song: Just because you use the same or similar chord progression of another song doesn’t make it a copy. The overall feel is different from About a Girl. Oh and let’s be real, the melody from this song sounds absolutely nothing like About a Girl. I could literally steal the chord progression from this song but if I put it on a piano, slowed it down, added some strings in the background, created a completely different melody, changed up the feel and had a different song structure, it wouldn’t be a ripoff, cause the only similarity between my song and this song would be the chords. So please, educate yourselves better before making dumb comments
@@Sinkopa518 The chorus is different, the vocal melody is different and the guitar solo is different. I'm sure this was probably subconscious on Cobain's part. Even if this song is a ripoff, that doesn't dispute Kurt's genius as a songwriter. He's written so many other incredible songs that even if he did rip off this song, it's not the end of the world. I guess that means the middle section in The Four Horsemen by Metallica is a ripoff of Sweet Home Alabama because they have a similar feel.

I'll say what many people don't have guts to admit. Cobain totally ripped of this song to make About a girl.
Objektivno puno bolja stvar od About a Girl.

Can I please have the text in Croatian?
In verse there are two chords. Ok, that's not a copy. Then I wait to for chorus. Chorus will tell if this is a copy. And also in chorus are the same chords, played with same dynamic and pattern.
ur high. the chorus is not the same chords. about a girl is c# g# f#
@@odiumimbues it's the same chords in a different key I-V-IV. They both do a key change to that chord progression which can't be a coincidence

Problem with that cover is that it came out 10 years before the original American version.

Come on guys ! I love Nirvana but this is clearly a rip off ! The melodic vocal part is not the same ok … but it is definitely not a coincidence for the rest of the structure ! If you consider Krist has croatian origins everything’s even clearer ! Kurt was inspired a bit too much for many of his songs… 😕
bro its litreally fucking em to g its not impossible they both thought of it :|
Agreed, for me the drums spell it out pretty clearly as well.. it's not all identical of course but way too many similarities.
Don't say about stealing because Kurt wrote that song.
Those lyrics aren't the same, and chord progression E, G is very popular.

It definitely has similarities, but it’s also very very simple. E minor to G… there will be lots of other people playing those chords.
Eh, I'd say that for the verse, but the way the chorus is so similar as well - definitely an influence.
It is not about the chords. The arrangement is a rip-off.
@@nresnik when music lives inside such a ridiculously simple framework it’s hard to say it’s plagiarism. One thing that would prove beyond doubt would be if the melody matched in any way… which it simply does not.

Its very hard to say kobain copied it. Cobain is known for playing very short riffs and experimenting to come up with something. hail cobain...
Yeah, but Cobain didnt do any of these things you mentioned. So its obvious he coppied the beginning in his song.
@@Foxikaze you see, you’re trying to read between the lines and then you draw the wrong conclusions. Just read the lines! He coppied the intro! The chances for that are big, because his bassist Novoselic was from croatia.
