      'We need Gallifreyan writing!'
'Just put some Greek and algebraic symbols on the damn thing. Nobody will notice.'
Which would ordinarily have worked out. Viewers would have concentrated on the Doctors and the other characters, rather than something they weren't supposed to be able to read.

Man, people get so patronizing about the classic series.
They knew full well that home video was "a thing," and that even before home video was "a thing," fans had already noted minute details in the program via repeated viewings and photographs.
The implication here is that Gallifreyan writing made its way to Earth, where the Greeks picked it up.
The circular writing is a recent development not just on the new series, but on Gallifrey itself.

No doubt Verity Lambert had to deal with a fair bit of that back in the day but she was a genuinely strong woman, not one of the shrieking babies who claim they're strong to compensate their insecurities in the modern day, so she soldiered on without validating misogynists' views by screaming for the manager like a modern feminist would. I've always seen the First Doctor's sexism in Twice Upon a Time as a deliberate attempt by Steven Moffat to exemplify how fortunate women are these days compared to when Doctor Who started. DarthRushy By appearance, that is true. The War incarnation however was something of a mixture of quite a few Doctors. His crotchety demeanor was very much Hartnell's, for example him trying to lecture his future selves and being derisive of and embarassed by them at first. His penultimate words also recalled the First Doctor's realization that his "old body is wearing a bit thin" during the "Tenth Planet" story arc (Though not his, Hartnell's, actual last words). Also, his clothes ill fitted him, recalling the Second Doctor. His wardrobe was cobbled together from items recalling the Eighth and Ninth Doctors, and his spiky hairdo could be seen as a nod to David Tennant's hairstyle while he was the incumbent. Some even have speculated that his rugged scarf is meant as a counterpart to Tom Baker's, but that's debatable in my opinion.

@@lakecountynaturalist7617 I think he does get overlooked a little bit because of Tom Baker, who pretty much defined the Doctor for a generation. That's nothing against Pertwee, and I'm sure there are many people who prefer his Doctor to anyone else's, but for most people (at least older viewers) it would be Baker, just as for a lot of people James Bond will always be Sean Connery.
It 's impossible for anyone under about 45 to appreciate what a big deal TV stars were back in those days. There was only three channels and they were virtually on a par with the old time B/W movie stars. Personally, when I think of Pertwee I immediately think of Worzel Gummidge, but that's just me. I'm of the Peter Davison vintage and Pertwee was a bit too early.

The five Doctors really had their normally infinite patience tested in this scene. The flippin' TV director just couldn't seem to make his mind up about which angle to shoot certain scenes from. Added to which, the BBC Floor Manager had a very irritating habit of repeating the same damn phrase every single time a new shot was being set up. "Settle down now everyone!" Bloody hell! In the twenty years of working at the sharp end in many a television studio in England I never once heard a floor manager use such words to the actors or to the crew! If you watch the outtakes of this scene you can see Jon Pertwee getting increasingly agitated by the constant long pauses in the middle of the takes. If it had been me playing the part, I would have been sorely tempted to insist that the floor manager either changes his tune immediately or I walk off the floor until all of them can sort themselves out! Struth!

@@Pentarax and the plot twist would be when Michelle Gomez betrays four of the other Masters, and stands with The Doctor like she meant to do in "The Doctor Falls".

Except now it would be more like the 5531st, 5532nd, and 5533rd Doctors because the BBC handed the show to a talentless hack.

I wish we got to see the Doctors interact like this throughout the episode instead of just at the very end.

James Fisherkeller yeah, I am. Me and the other 57.2% who have rejected it. It seems quite fitting that this shallow and idiotic writing does indeed reflect the audience it seeks to entertain. The BBC seems more than happy to cater to the narcissists that have a need to see themselves represented on screen. Enjoy it while it lasts. Dispensed.

why not wait and see how the timeless child plot ends up. Considering the Timeless child was revealed to the master from the matrix, now think back to the last time we saw the matrix and how it was used... now remember who was left in charge of the matrix... If you know your classic who then the timeless child plot COULD be very interesting if they decide to go down that rout.

Considering that the Master killed no few of his men over the years, that had to feel pretty danged good.
Is the Brig the only human to punch out a TimeLord (other than the Doctor) and get away with it?
