    5:50 i think it is a bit more common to just spread the butter directly on the dough and then sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top but i am sure this will also work just fine.

    • @GuinevereKnight
      @GuinevereKnight 3 месяца назад +14

      Yes, just let the butter become soft, don't melt it. Then spred it out and you can mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle generously on top. Lots of butter, lots of flavour! Yum!

    • @ilari90
      @ilari90 3 месяца назад +3

      @@GuinevereKnight Don't need to mix, just sprinkle evenly, one step less. When you roll it up, it evens out. But the butter should be warm not melted like you said. Dunno how it tastes this way, it melts eventually either way but i think its just easier to put it evenly propably when you just spread it with knife.

    Some looked absolutely perfect. All of them are sure to taste good. That size is normal, but if you want to do business with them, make them oversized. When I was younger, at a nearby bakery, people would line up at lunchtime for freshly baked absolutely insanely large cinnamon buns. They also sold halves. Straight from the oven to the customer. A big glass of fresh Finnish milk with cinnamon bun is heaven.
    Osa näytti aivan täydellisiltä. Kaikki varmasti maistuvat hyvältä. Tuo koko on normaali mutta jos haluatte tehdä niillä bisnestä niin tehkää ylisuuria. Kun olin nuorempi niin läheisessä leipomossa ihmiset jonottivat lounasaikaan vasta paistettuja aivan älyttömän isoja korvapuusteja. He myivät myös puolikkaita. Suoraan uunista asiakkaalle. Iso lasi raikasta suomalaista maitoa korvapuustin kanssa on taivas.

    Its always so difficult to bake things given that you have to sometimes be quite exact with ingredients.
    Its just like they say, baking is like chemistry. Congratulations on succeeding!
    Also I am so happy I understand japanese, it makes videos like these more fun to watch since text doesnt really transfer the feeling in the words. How expensive is butter in japan?
    I have never realized the name for "Mochi" came from the word Mochi meaning springy. Sometimes I am quite ignorant

    • @kattanakaokopnik5170
      @kattanakaokopnik5170 3 месяца назад

      It’s not that mochi means springy, it’s that the canonical springy-textured thing in Japanese is “like mochi”. Like describing something as “bread-like”.

    Would a Finn approve of these Korvapuusti's?
    YES! They look fantastic!
    Usually Finnish food is kinda simple and plain in a way which makes it quite easy to add something into them for a twist of somekind like with Karelian pastries, which work a lot like open faced sandwiches. But I wonder... would it be possible to make somekind of Japanese twist on a Finnish Cinnamon Roll?
    The Korvapuusti already has a pretty rich flavor pallet, so adding something might not work so well, but maybe if one ingredient is swapped to something more Japanese?
    Would be a very interesting experiment!

    Ah, nice redemption on the cinnamon rolls! Good job!
    Just a few pointers if you want to try adjusting them even further. Make sure to make dough with buttery whole milk and for filling spread a soft, not melted butter, and sprinkle generous amount of cinnamon and sugar on top. I push rolls with my both hands parallel to each other where index finger and thumb are like "👌", both index fingers pushing them down very close to the table's surface without cutting them in half. It makes that both sides spread into lovely butterfly wings. You should also let rolls rise while covered after pushing them to shape but before egg wash. But yeah, very nice of you finding pearl sugar although it seems rather large pieces compared to finnish pearl sugar, so you could try crushing them to smaller pieces to give that authentic korvapuusti look.
    Anyway, I love seeing your family baking together. You should try to make another classic Finnish Butter-Eye Buns / Voisilmäpullat next.

    Too much flour is my main problem with cinnamon rolls and bread buns usually. Needs some practice and discipline not to use too much but not leave the dough too soft either. Also, there never can't be too much sugar and cinnamon in them almost, so try to find the sweet spot for you. Just use warm butter on top of the dough, with knife and then sprinkle a lot of cinnamon and sugar on top of it, at least a millimiter or two :P if butter is expensive you can use baking margerine instead.
