This has got to be one of the most in-depth and helpful videos I've seen on Slavic release. I have great accuracy with Mediterranean, which i here up shooting. I started shooting thumb draw and quickly got good accuracy with that as well. Slavic, no matter what I was doing I kept shooting far to the right.

I am using mamluk draw which is the exact Slavic draw and I was teaching my kid, however when he released the arrow it is always far right, but everything was clear for me when you mention twisting the string. twisting the string for me it is an old habit coming from thumb draw, but my son just starts to learn bowing. now it is clear to me thanks I will subscribe.

Just in case this is helpful, I have recently reverted to shooting the arrow on the inside or left side of the bow. My accuracy has really improved. I use what is basically a slavic draw, my index finger steadies the arrow.. I might modify this further with some thumb pressure. Thanks again.

Can I ask what type of arrows you use? For me, the fletching of the arrow collides with where my index finger extends down the shaft depending on which side I nocked the arrow (for a standard 3 fletch arrow). This slows me down when attempting speed shooting because I have to make sure I nock the arrow from the correct direction so that my index finger does not collide with the fletching. I would like to find arrows like yours where the fletching does not come as far up to the end of the arrow, so I don't have to worry about this problem.

I do have it myself in 36#. Compare to my other horsebows (little longer, with "standard" handle, example assyrian) im not sure if I understood the benefits. Now I noticed from video that you have quite bigger brace height on bow than me. What's your brace height? I didn't change mine as Jarkko settled it up, around 15cm aligned on bow handle mark.
@@lukascechovic Hi. I will measure mine for you exact, but i just have my own, tested by "touch" when shooting and measured with my fist+fingers 🤙. But fact is that the bowyer tells that minimum is 6"3/4 and max is 7"3/4. Bowyer's own suggestion is between 7" - 7"1/4... But i think it debends on your own feeling/technique/arrow weight/draw length.... Just try it, test it, feel it but keep it between 6 3/4 - 7 3/4.
Hi. I try to keep it straight or just slightly tilted. But it makes no big difference: On horseback, shooting forward requires little bit tilted bow and backshot is either straight or heavily tilted. ( To not hit the horse with lower limb).

What bow are you using? I have been looking for a traditional Asiatic bow or something similar. I'm wanting something without a shelf and very efficient fast bow. Also, great video and you were very easy to understand.

The twist. I just started trying out slavic release, and the arrow really goes to the right a lot. Twist and Khatra. Will try.
Good explanation. It also can be done by pushing nock with a thumb to the right with khatra to counter paradox.

U hold the Bow straight and not crooked, Or make no difference?
