The a770 with 16GB of vram is an excellent value mid spec GPU that doesn't blow the budget or power bill.

Really considering switching. I love my 3060ti but I also want intel to get in the ring. Maybe with a little more time…

Well considering Intel is already moving their employees out of their GPU department and putting them in other departments, it is safe to say that they will not be coming out with any more GPUs. This video just seems to be here to help sell their remaining Arc GPUs.

@@casino_bandit1490 i figure that much for the xidax team and it makes sense. But I believe the project manager or something like that said they were not quitting the GPU market. I don’t think intel will entirely back out.

@@casino_bandit1490 lol who is saying this, we arent going anywhere. There was a split between server graphics and client into respective orgs that was all

@@casino_bandit1490 not really, having worked in large businesses, its quite common for people to be shifted around, even in large numbers, also knowing people who work for intel, nothings been canceled, other then production of first gen silicon/parts, a refresh is already in the works, smaller process, allow for lower power use at same clocks or higher clocks at the same power limits...
intel are putting theses into alot of laptops and mini pc's as the a770m/a750m/etc.. you can already find a couple models out there with 16g a770m chips built in..
mooreslawisdead got some faulty info and ran with it and alot of people cling to that...
the fact is, intel also know its the drivers that need work, the 4million cards in the first batch are a way to gain some market and mindshare in those of us who have and use these cards, and get the drivers sorted so the refresh can be sold at a profit rather then very nearly at cost, the drivers have taken more work then they expected, but as the core issues have been getting sorted, they dont need as big a team, larger team dosnt mean faster work getting done better.. trust me.. its a fine balancing point on team size for a project to advance smoothly... even 1-2 people over a set point can start to degrade results.. and not even based on anybodies skill just.. "too many cooks in the kitchen"
and im told, indirectly, that battlemage is an ongoing evolution based on what they are learning from these first gen cards, both in ways to tune hardware better, and drivers/software..
im actually told their driver team have hired some people with alot of real world exp recently, and its strongly implied they have high high hopes that by end of year, the drivers will warrant the refresh coming out at higher prices from more vendors.
a few new vendors have signed on to make/sell arc cards recently, many were holding off to see if there were any major hardware issues, they might have to deal with.
i have the bifrost a770 16g... far less driver issues then i was expecting.. shit my group of friends complain more about expecting more bugs then bugs we find... "i was expecting more troubleshooting and finding workarounds, wth you said this was beta hardware with beta drivers...i was expecting the 90's experience" (almost word for word one of our friends joking about this subject on discord)
oh and the arc cards are selling pretty well if the discord groups im in are any indication, as more and more people shift form and and nvidia to give it a go and.. "hey this is working really well" and find people willing walk them threw instaling dxvk when needed... how to use nglide/dgvoodoo/etc..
since the last week of nov, we have more then a dozen bifrost owners in one discord group and more then 2x that who grabbed intel or asrock or gunner cards.

@@AshenTechDotCom Thanks for the well thought out, and informative response. It would be nice to have more and more competitors in the GPU market.
