I haven’t had much trouble upgrading the hideout, it’s just more time consuming but makes it more rewarding when you find that certain item you’ve been looking for. And like someone else mentioned you don’t actually need your hideout upgraded to play the game
@@tompeters5903yeah but you miss out on the ability to craft tons of good shit for money making as well as several units give xp buffs, as well as increasing task reward payouts and reducing scab timer, plus scav case for random loot chances, L take IMO
@@tompeters5903exactly none of them are necessary to progress. Being locked from those quality of life functions solely because rnjesus has not blessed you is not game breaking sure. But its just frustrating for frustration sake.
I feel like if you just up the loot, you can remove flea. It would shift cash to loot, which is more interesting that just 'well this is worth more per slot'.
The problem with removing the flea is that you kill casual players. The one that can only play max 10 raids per week will have no chance, or very little chance, to play with better gear. Personally I am in favour in totally removing the flea, just add more barters for keys, I am fine with the loot how it is also.
@@Northernliiightsthat’s roughly half their player base. Would you get rid of half of your works customers to appease the other half if it meant you lost out on revenue? Those casuals spend money on stash space, drip, and new editions
When flee was closed I finally realised that I’m not that bad actually 😂 as everyone had a same conditions, no chads running around after few days of wipe even few weeks. That was amazing
I think it also severely cut back on how many cheaters were playing. I felt like an absolute god for the first few weeks and then as soon as the flea market went up I started running into suspicious players quite frequently. It could just all be coincidence, but I've never had a multi-week success streak like this before in tarkov.
That's what Ive been saying for years.if they nerfed the traders and either heavily nerfed the flea or removed it and made the primary way of acquiring gear and items by finding them in raid it would level the playing field and reintroduce high risk high reward and make finding gear and items and surviving raids way more satisfying. There's no satisfaction in extracting with juicy loot when you can simply do a scav run and make 500k and buy those same items from the flea.
i think ur not that bad actually unless ur from NA to be honest, everysingle time i watch NA streamers they kill people with most shittiest ammo or gun build possible, u just have to do some research and market is actually nice, but every wipe with no flea for 2 weeks is actually not bad idea, i dont like no flea forver idea tho
almost like a rust wipe? yeah , there needs to be tarkov servers that have weekely bi week and monthly wipes. enough of this catering to DADS AND chads
I do. And I'm casual. I'm getting sick of everyone speaking for me. All I see is people saying, " we can't make these changes because the casuals will uninstall. My entire group plays the game casual and we want the flea market gone and everything found in raid.

With the flipping on Flea, all they need to do is add a new tag to items. 'Trader/Flea Item'. Can't be sold on the flea if bought from traders or flea market. There, done, fixed in an instant.
Survey should've asked: A) Flea B) No Flea C) Limited Flea with quest items/keys adjusted for accessibility I may have put unsure as my answers because C) is the answer I would have given. It's not as clear cut as yes or no because I think both ways long term are flawed.
I liked this specific survey because its rewards for me were 2x Pressure gauges, which is what I absolutely needed to level up to Lavatory 3. Thank you, BSG!
I think the flea market is the main reason there are so many cheaters in Tarkov. If there were no way for cheaters to profit, why would they even bother? Also, the moment you unlock the flea market, the game changes drastically! If you have a couple of hours to farm money, you can get tier 4-5 gear, the best gadgets, etc. This wipe, the first few weeks without the flea market have been so much fun. However, the FIR requirement for the hideout felt kinda schizo-it completely changed the gameplay, making it all about grabbing items and extracting.
How the FFFk do you get tier 5 gear on the flea market? All the armor vests come without plates and the best plates that you can buy are lvl 4, same for the weapons the best ammo you can possibly buy struggles to pen tier 5 armor so where do people get this idea from? I'm legit curious
People have to realise that Cheaters will always be a thing regardless of what BSG changes.... the only TRUE change that would destroy cheating as in for profit FOR THE MOST PART! is if they wouldnt allow Flea, no partys, no server selection and even possibly if you die you drop no loot in case the seller and buyer achiev to end up in the same lobby. Else they would just buy carry runs where the cheater Rage hacks the entire lobby etc.
Possible reason for the FIR percentage being low(10:35) is that the change could have drove people away from playing so they wouldn't log in to see the survey and add to that percentage.
Yea i was thinking that. The complaints everywhere but the actual game indicates to me that a majority of players who took the survey are biased in favor of it. Because those who were put off by this aren’t logging in.
@@bob89377 queue timers are already way longer, and comparitively more 5k hour players or 38 hour 22kd ones i come across. Also way less flea market offers atm, i would be really curious to see the player count rn
@@ElliotDB748 people that are so fickle as to leave the game and not play over the flea not being implemented at wipe, will just leave for another reason next wipe. Fuck those people. They should’ve stuck around if they wanted their votes heard.
I answered "Not sure" because I've always prefered the scavenging playstyle, I've made most my money on the flea, but I'm quite familliar with what traders buy stuff for and what I need for the hideout. My main problem was keys, and I got stuck on Dorms 114 until flea opened. They need to add more barters and crafting recipes for anything that is notoriously rare or has a FIR requirement tied to quest and the hideout. If we have more alternatives the flea can be done away with completely, but the way it was implemented in this first round made it damn tempting to just ask them to revert everything.
4:14 is when the audio crack will still play if you are in line with a shooter but they shoot away from you. Gigabeef has a video on this. This should greatly help you determine if you're actually getting shot at.
Your videos push me to get better in PVP and sometimes I get discouraged and go pack to PVE but you always put into perspective and it makes me feel confident for PVP, thanks for the awesome video and polls! Liked and commented for algorithm!
before the flea market existed, I remember grinding soooo long just to get a customs marked room key because I needed a chance to get a keychain or docs case. I remember the exact moment I found it at the checkpoint on woods. Traders didnt have either of them. Shit was an unreal rush that Ive remember through like 7000 hours playing tarkov. It's not all bad.
The new rifle could possibly be the AM-17 made by Kalashnikov Concern, made to replace the AKS-74U in service. The 5,45 version is said to have an RoF between 850-900 RPM and can use most AK pattern magazines. There is also a 9x39mm variant called the AMB-17 with an integral suppressor but its fire-rate is lower at 700 RPM.
I answered not sure, because I play pve only, and never lost the flea. So I didn’t know what it was like to not have it, so I polled not sure instead of lying and skewing the numbers.
I love your point about sample sizes. BSG also touched upon that a little with the Twitter community responses vs the in-game votes. People often seem to focus on the response of the angry vocal minority (especially about games). It's refreshing to hear folks put things into perspective.
0:36 It's like a Mutant for 5.45. As far as we know from the teaser, it's probably an AR-15-based carbine, the NL545, from the Russian arms company CGNL (Custom Guns Next Level). Funny fact: they are also known for the ADAR-15 (previously under the name Molot Arms). Anyway, I wasn’t surprised by the results of the poll. For me and my buddy, this wipe has been much more fun early on-except for a few things: We couldn't do the Shoreline quest until the Flea Market opened and we could buy the necessary keys. We struggled to find some rare items for the hideout, like the Intelligence Folder or the Military Power Cable-it’s purely luck-based. I think BSG should add more quest keys for barter and maybe even introduce crafting options for hideout upgrade items across different modules. Thanks again for news covering.
@@cvonnell thanks pal. I know drawers can spawn intel folder and other useful stuff. But it again RNG, i got two folders in to raids, my buddy still hasn't even one. And lighthouse it's pure shit show, we play at Russian server's and goddamm, lighthouse now days feels like labs, full of cheaters or sweaty guys who kill anyone at sight.
I was swimming in military cables. Still don't have a ledx though. Fun wipe. Over a month in and still looted just one, but died with it stuck up my ass so it somehow doesn't count.
Great video as always mate. It's 1 am here and the sound in your music at 3:15 made me absolutely shit my pants i had to rewind and make sure it was actually part of the video😂
For the Flee: A couple of simple rules that would fix it: 1. Allow only gear (weapons, armor, apparell, medical stuff (no stims) to be listed for the first couple of weeks (3-4), no hideout items, no ammo, no keys, no weapon atachments, etc 2. Allow flipping of items from traders ,but limit the maximum price they can be listed at, at the flee of 50% more then the buy price from the traders, eg: an ump costs 450$ and you can list it for up to 675$ (numbers are just an example) 3. Give every quest key at least 2 bartes with 2-3 different items needed per (maybe make it a new trader for only quest keys/ items?) 4. Give items batered from traders (not ref), FIR status, remove any barter loops if existing (eg, barter milk and sugar into moonshine, bater moonshine into 20 energy drinks, bater energy drinks into milk or sugar, this is an example, i have not checked if there are barter loops ingame atm) 5. Allow ammo to be listed on the flee, only in ammo packs of the same amount as found in raid (give the ability to pack FIR bullets into ammo backs in your stash), such ammo packs cannot be opened until sold on the flee (you could make it so only FIR ammo packs can be opened and once bought on the flee, they get the FIR status), remove ability to open ammo packs in raid (spicy) 6. Increase the sell value of hideout items, as they are basically useless, if not Found in raid, OR make it so that FIR hideout items sold on flee are still FIR, that would give these items their value back This should fix most of not all issues players and bsg have with the flee and most parts of the economy. This would also remove RMT, as you only need to monitor high value items, as no other items will be used for RMT, as they would need too many. Point 6. is one i am not sure about, but something needs to be done for the hideout items, are they are a big part of the loot you can gather and they become totally useless once your progress your hideout a bit, as they have barely any value in rubel. Also: the answers they had preselected in both surveys very complete dogshit. There really needs to be done something, as of right now they get the wrong answers from these, as their answers are not good. Explaining what could be done better, or what would have been better questions will take some time, so I will not write that here.
I've been saying they need to add a "bought from traders/flea" status that prevents players from selling it on the flea and gets removed once you enter a raid with it. That way people stop flea flipping and you can still sell player gear you get in raids. They can tweak it to only equipment attachments if people start going into raids naked with their secure container full and maybe stop the status from changing if the item brought in isn't taken out with a survived status.
I answers Not Sure, and thats because I only play PvE and the flea was never closed, and my hideout is already maxed so the FiR requirement doesn't affect me beyond how much stuff sells for on the flea.
"Not sure", the state of being without certainty due to a multitude of factors. The most glaringly obvious being that an agent did not experience the antecedent event (having no flea), and therefore cannot be certain if the game is more or less engaging without the flea.... Pretty straight forward.
As someone that was around and grinding Kappa & tracksuit in 2020 with the no restrictions flea, I want that back. But the no flea experience was definitely preferred, Guess I'm just an all or nothing kinda guy.
still dont understand so many people.....did we play different games? Like 70% of my pvp was some encounter with people alrdy at trader 3/4 (lvl 35+) even with Flea locked.......flea is the only thing for casual players to even have a slightly chance to compete with some Unemployed Final Boss Guys -Edit: where are these timmys from your poll, why am i only fighting high level player (maybe region diff?)
I'm a casual, and I want the flea gone. The game was so much better when it wasn't in the game. I think most casuals these days have never experienced the game without and now think the game is impossible without it.
I feel like there should be more restrictions in some ways and less restrictions in other ways for the flee. Some of it can probably be solved by having the traders have all the necessary quest related stuff except a few outliers like the bloody rusted key and the marked room keys needed for some quests. But stuff that is just generally easy to get like food and drinks should probably be mostly if not fully available for purchase on flee, cosmetic only items should also be fully available on the flee. The hideout issues can probably be solved by making tools not be used up and making some grindy materials like military power filters craftable obviously not too easy though or that creates another issue entirely. Maybe make it so you'd have to buy blueprints etc for those materials? I also don't think forcing FIR for flee would always be a good idea, but forcing it on certain items may fix some of the balance issues trader flipping has caused. Edit: Restricting the sale of weapons and mods, other high tier gear and ammo could also be a way to make sure we don't have the meta pvp sweats ruining the game for everyone else. Also frustration for the sake of frustration is only bound to push people away and make people leave the game instead, hence my view that the game should be playable most of the way through without needing to hope RNG is on your side. I felt this first hand trying to find those military power filters. It took me 73 raids to finally find one. That is NOT a fun experience.
I answered not sure. I enjoyed the core, in-raid gameplay more, but as someone who really likes using barter trades, and the out of raid macro economy, I felt like that part of the game was missing. I was also concerned that BSG would take the wrong answer from an unreserved yes, and decide that clearly the flea just needs to be removed entirely.
I'm late to this video, but I hope someone sees this. A bounty system instead of the flea would be VERY engaging and could increase cooperation. Ex you could post a bounty(or mission) to have someone with a key you need take you to the room and unlock it for you. Or drop items and such, and you load in together. Would be an extremely fun system
I used to enjoy playing Escape from Tarkov casually. While I like PvP and don’t mind fighting, I tend to avoid hot spots because I often can’t win against the more skilled players (chads). When missions get tough, I switch to loot runs to make money. I focus on selling items, maximizing the profit, and then use that to upgrade my hideout. It always cheered me up to walk around in my hideout in first-person view, feeling like I had built a proper home. However, loot runs don’t feel rewarding anymore because the items don’t sell for much. Upgrading my hideout is also harder now. PvP feels tough because I often have weak bullets and can’t kill other players effectively. Since I can't craft stronger bullets, which are expensive when sold, I feel stuck. I’ve tried progressing in missions and did many, but I’m not seeing much improvement. That is my take on tarkov rn.
I voted 'Not sure' to the first question because I did not play during the time the flea was closed, and I exclusively play PvE now. I played during the always open flea in 2020 and 2021, and it was my favorite wipe. I voted for always open and keep flea as is, mainly because I believe if you have the rubles you should be able to buy whatever the hell you want. With Traders being as limited as they are and certain guns, ammo, and armor locked behind late game tasks, it can be a chore to be able to use certain loadouts and gear. If they change what you can buy from traders, make certain items spawn in raid more often, or change some tasks to unlock earlier, maybe my opinion would change, but if I have 20mil and want to run a Lapua because I still haven't had the opportunity to run one of those guns, I should be able to buy one for a lot of money from someone who has it unlocked. Either that, or give barters to traders that unlock earlier for their later game gear, but the barters are more expensive than when you unlock it later.
people didn't realize that it was multiple choice. Also you can expect bsg to mess up the progressing of the data. I think some charts added up to 100% which is not a good form of display if you use multiple choice questions.
Flipping items on market has an easy fix. All they gotta do is change it so that items found in raid, including items that are stored in safe container are counted as FIR even if you die, then fix so all the items that you purchase cant be put up for sale.
this has me very exited for tarkov, i have 2k hours and i like the shifting playing field, i like the intimate looting idea, if no flea, boost the loot, or have only barters until certain events or days you may sell for rubles
I might be the only guy that actually prefer the hideout being FIR I’ve been playing through with my brother and a friend they have 2 standard accounts with less than 100. And when they find an item they need it’s one of those “WE NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS RAID NOW” moments which I personally love. But I also like how it extends the feeling of early wipe past just getting lvl 15 imo
I think a good trade off for the hideout upgrade system instead of everything be found in raid make half of the cost of upgrades be found in raid ex:( generator lvl2 have the car batteries need to be found in raid and the spark plugs while the other things needed can be bought outta flea market or crafted ) I wouldn’t mind that as a trade off having to find the higher end items needed to be found in raid but EVERYTHING NEEDDED was a bit much for me personally
Right now I'm on trying to find VPX drives FIR, and surviving. Hard to find keys for the marked rooms, not paying the prices for them on the FM. A bit annoyed by it, but I will eventually triumph.
great video and insides - as always, good to have flea market experimented on, i just wish - since i can't really convince myself to PvE - that at some stage we will get wipe/no-wipe options on PvP as i believe it was discussed, i know it will come with challenges like split to the community, servers etc. but for players with limited time to put into the game - like me, i believe it would be a great option
At the point made at the 14:00 mark: imho the game would be so much better if they changed the designs centered around RNG. Boss Hunting tasks are often annoying for me personally. I spend so much time checking to see if the Boss is present versus actually being able to work on the task that it just doesn't make sense to prioritize Tarkov over the other--less RNG heavy--games I play. A simple solution could be adding notification system to Fence's Rep (Maybe at 4.0) that he warns the PMCs that his guys alert him to the activity of bosses. For example it could tell you that Sanitar was spotted whenever you check the available extracts. Perhaps higher level Fence Rep (7.0 or something) could even tell PMCs the general location so there could be more PvP. Ideally you should be able to pay resources to "force" the boss to appear thus making it based on the Player's skill to be able to hunt the boss faster than the lobby, but I'm sure people are content with wasting hours upon hours looking for the boss; so the first option is a compromise. Regardless of that being a good idea or not the point is: being barred from progress over something YOU HAVE NO CONTROL over always has been and will always be piss poor game design that is implemented solely for increasing a product's retention metric. It is in no way good for the player base as a whole--masochists be damned. Making a more engaging product will always sell better than a retention focused one. Just because one can/has tolerated it doesn't mean they should; I don't care how many hours of a game you played, that doesn't excuse the offending system. A GAME should never be a JOB, even for content creators. Nikita wants it to be realistic, and I can respect that. However it is still a video game and that is abundantly clear when realism takes a backseat to gaming abstractions. With the fact that Nikita admitted that the FIR Hideout change was last minute (source is your video going over his interview) it is clear his team didn't account for the implications this would have on the playerbase. Some of their choices really seem like they want people to make people play SPT. AFAIK, that offers either a more realistic, more casual or a mixed experience based on user preferences. I can't think of any actually logical reason to make PvP the more realistic option and PvE the more casual option. Nikita can have his vision and the people whom dislike it can go to PvE, SPT or improve their lives by quitting the game entirely. At any rate: thanks for the coverage and all content you've done. I almost never comment, but this situation has been completely vexing. Not to mention the discourse has, generally, been even worse than the actual issue inciting it.
I think that most if not every item should be craftable in some sense especially if it’s a quest item, (aka tank battery, virtex, and anything along those lines) and then I feel like everything should be on the flea like the magazine that allows you to craft a ledx should be sold on the flea it would bring down the prices of some items and it would make that craft more accessible to everyone and not people who are lucky and find it, I don’t mean stuff like guns, ammo, armor, no I just want items to have no restrictions on what items I can buy on the flea, but man when that flea was closed the game was fun, I didn’t have to worry about chads running around with lvl 5-6 armor and the best ammo and guns vs me with an Adar that has m855 and some lvl 3 armor I had
Simply if Tarkov outright removed the Flea then I'd stop playing. The flea market is one of the more unique and interesting things about Tarkov for me, it's not just where I make rubbles but where I, as a mid to low skill player, get weapon upgrades and other gear like my signature ballistic condors. I'm perfectly fine with it unlocking after lvl 15+ or even a set date after wipe begins, that wouldn't stop me from playing but completely removing it would.
My take has always been that flea market should exist in the game, and you should be able to buy any item for any purpose, including hideout and tasks, but it should sell items at a semitic markup so it's never your first choice for acquiring a particular item, it's more that you can bite the bullet and spend the money if RNG decides to really screw you or something. Also, most of that markup should be a fee that gets deleted from the economy to counter the inflation that happened last wipe and which is happening in PvE. Combine this with making the flea market a set of physical locations in maps that you have to go to, and it'd be brilliant imo. And at this point the entire FiR system could be removed. I do think that probably the one thing players want above all else from the flea is the ability to run their favorite weapons whenever they want. I'd be pretty miffed if I could realistically only run my MP7s after actually finding them in raid. I think this should be acknowledged and the weapons brought down to like the first two trader levels, or maybe the third for the really high end ones, and then for the most part increasing trader levels should just allow you to improve those weapons, with better ammo and mods. I think then people also wouldn't mind the flea becoming far more restricted like this.
The signature Condors you speak of can be bought from Prapor by playing the game and getting your trader levels up. The majority of people that want flea are just impatient and don't want to put in effort to play the game. It's always wrapped in an abundance of excuses of how they dont have time, items are too difficult to find, cheaters impede my progress etc. The FiR for hideout is fine, it gives purpose to raids if you are not tasking. Hideout items are pointless if you have flea because you just buy everything you need instead of going out and earning it.
I answered not sure. I’ve mostly played PVE up to this point, this is my first PVP wipe. At first it felt ok but after a while I found myself just waiting for flea. Not having had much prior wipe comparison is why I chose unsure. (Though now after more time I would probably choose no.)
QoL addition to the insurance claiming process would be the ability to highlight or jump straight to the soonest expiring one when you get within the 12h warning. any one agrees?
Some people may not have hit the flea market yet to know if them having it closed made a difference. I personally only hit lvl 15 after the market had already opened.
Instead of found in raid for hideout materials they should make it so certain materials are only allowed to be barter trades instead of sold for money on flea. That way you won't get stuck looking something specific and could barter other materials for them.
Easiest fix I thought of for fixing FIR items for hideouts is allowing people to choose the way they want to play. I.e. “Normal” (Tarkov from 2019-2022 rules regarding FIR, Flea, etc) and “Hardcore” (what we have now and limited Flea uses). It could’ve been placed at the character creation screen. Or allow players to have a hardcore and normal character that they can switch between. Regardless of what you chose, you can still play with each other on the same server (similar to the traveling events). Not respecting people’s time is what made me not login for this wipe. RIP Standard players w/ the FIR Hideout change
I had an interesting idea while watching this. What if the "found in raid" status was removed from the game and we went with a "bought" status. "Bought" status would be all items bought from vendors or the flea. "bought" items cant be listed on the flea or used for hideout upgrades.
I feel like the PVE question is still valid. I have a group of 3 people (myself included) who wipe PVE every season manually to keep it fresh. I just started in December so I'm getting to see all the changes as if I were PVPing. Not a majority of the PVE just wanted to say we are out there wiping with PVP
if the flea is completely removed permanently they could fix the key problem by having keys necessary for completing tasks be earned though additional tasks that would be given if the quest was not completed after a certain amount of time. for example if you needed a key for a prappor task and that task was not completed in 48 hours he could give an additional quest that was something like kill 8 scavs with a headshot on customs that would allow you to get the key
my take would be to restrict the amount of purchases for flea for the day, so you can only buy like 3 weapons, 5 times armor, 500 rounds of ammo, 50 barter items, 10 keys and so on. the only exception would be food and medical supplies.
I personally like the fir requirement for the hideout. Makes looting more pleasing, not only rushing high value or loose loot spawn spots, but actually looting toolboxes and stuff. The problem is that I think atleast half of the required stuff for the next level for lavatory for example (looking at you sewing kit), should be craftable with the level before. Or with the workbench, but crafting items in your hideout, to upgrade your hideout, would be cool.
Actually i did enjoy fir only items for hideout and I enjoyed that I actually need to find items in raid for crafts because I didn't have flea. It's way more challenging this way and a feels a lot more rewarding when you find items that are considered junk early wipe because low prices on flea. It just makes looting in tarkov (which is a core mechanic in this game) so much more worth it. Because when you have flea, a lot of things are pretty boring - you just have to farm enough money with your brain turned off until you can buy whatever you need
I chose not sure because I don't feel like I'm qualified or informed enough to make a change here. I don't have a solidified enough opinion on the flea market ban. It did not affect me at all because I got to lvl 4 traders before unlock.
I think there should just be a block on the purchase of the things required to upgrade the hideout on the flea market. But also you should be able to utilize the secure container for your hideout because it makes progression a smidge faster but you still have to find the stuff
Go interchange scav, back side of goshan, east inside of the building on the map. Shelves are not full of them but every 2 scav raids you can find 1 there especially since noone needs those anymore. Take a good look around because sometimes they are laying diagonally on paper boxes
"Trader flipping bad!" The only thing that ever made that "bad" was global purchase limits for those trader items, which meant that people could buy up all the trader inventory, and then mark it up to the moon. With those global limits gone, there is nothing stopping people from buying the parts they can get, and listing them for a modest markup for the people who haven't unlocked the ability to purchase those items yet (particularly useful for task chains like "Gunsmith" and "Test Drive"). If you list stuff too high, people will undercut you, and your listing will expire without selling. The free market is beautiful.
some of the survey was pretty good, but it fell short when it came to the more specific asks about what to change with the Flea... surveys like this always get interpreted different ways like "if i answer this i dont know how theyll take it" "if i say this they may change it but not this other thing they didnt mention that is needed" etc... i dont think many would say "yup just delete flea and change nothing else" because you REALLY cannot make changes in a vacuum with Tarkov, more so than most games. Gotta have supporting changes to make everything work, or everything adjacent feels like doodoo. and i feel seen... my weekend is Wednesday and Thursday :D I like if they maybe hid flea behind the scav box or a new like 'dead drop' zone in hideout, where you would buy then have to wait for delivery that was some range of time impacted by fence rep or something.
I would be ok with only being able to sell found in raid items on the flea if when u bought it, it would be found in raid as well. I’m somewhat of a new player and really don’t have time to grind for hours to try to find a led ex for medstation 3.
i feel if you remove all restrictions you just have to look at games like Delta Force or Arena Breakout where you can just buy any top-end gun/armor and attachments from the auction and as long as you just have money. It basically removes gear progression and as long as you are good at making money in the game you will be geared out of your mind all the time. I like early wipes where everybody got kinda shit guns and ammo and it makes fights messy and more engaging. I just played a good solid week of Delta Force and i really began to feel like you barely progress at all while playing. You just "Do stuff" and when you build guns or setup gear you just click "buy" and you get it.
Interesting seeing the polls and all the takes. Realized that i it a point where my enjoyment of tarkov comes from the game mechanics and kit building which is why ive stuck to PvE recently
I was the 17% fully open, but you just reminded me how awful it was, first wipe too.... well, it's my second now, so not much more knowledge here, but thanks for the throwback😂
I have played the game since before the flea market ever existed that being said unrestricted flea was the most fun i had in tarkov being a level 15 pmc being able to kill a juicer with snb ammo out of my mosin actually made the game fun its not perfect for everyone but its by far the most fun me and my friends had
Agreed. Flipping items from the traders to the flea devalues progression, but you should absolutely be able to sell other players' gear and non-FIR items.
“Not Sure” - I didn’t put this but I could make the argument that I’m not sure that the flea being closed is what increased or decreased my feeling of how engaging the game feels. Like maybe I’m not sure if that was the causation and saying Yes (which I did) could be me correlating something that wasn’t actually the cause
I would love to see something even as simple as a duplication of the FIR system for traders. Just mark items as "Bought from Trader" until it is brought into raid. This still allows you to sell players gear and prevents people sitting in hideout doing arbitrage. I think for some of the major hideout items, that could be where the keys on traders could come into play, to bump up the value of items that used to be useful on the flea (RIP bolt and hose prices) maybe add a barter for the 114 key for 6 bolts and 2 hoses, or the shoreline keys for Spa tour could be turning in UNTAR gear to PK or something
I really liked the flea change. Honestly if they just added a new trader who just sold/bartered keys I would not care if flea was cut down massively. I’m not a massive fan of the hideout progression though so if they can balance the flea around bartered items or items for the hideout only and everything else is removed (aside from keys) I would like it. Possibly if they have a new trader who only unlocks after lv50 who allows you to sell the weapons and armour you could not with the changed flea it (so now there are 2 flea markets) and if you Presteigne you will loose access to him it could keep a lot of the giga chads at bay for the majority of the wipe. Especially if you add more weapons to traders and make prestige indefinite to see who can get the highest.
I've played casually for a few years and never really got past level 15. I play just for the combat and not really doing the quests or going for any goals in specific, and I enjoy the game a lot.
i had no issues with the first week and a half but after that i realised that i just wasn't winning fights as the gear i could access could only pen class 3 and the players around me were running around with class 4
7:46 ...because they, weren't sure? Or like, no preference. Not really surprised by the numbers there. Sure it's more engaging but I bet it deterred a portion of the playerbase at first.
I play PVE before they did the flea market changer. I didn’t have the experience of the flea being closed. Not sure was all I could give. This is my 9th wipe, seven being pvp.
Not sure means it doesn't really matter. The reason i put not sure, it's because the fleemarket is essentially closed or partially closed still but due to found in raid. Currently nearly every item in the game has zero value and the items that have value or massively inflated. Being open or closed just made you had no stash space, after that, all the junk had zero value so I realize now I shouldn't have done any looting essentially. That has nothing to do with the fleemarket being open or closed for a week or two, because by the time I got to week 2, I didn't even really need the flee, I have Ref and other traders which result in 98% of my purchases outside of some non-craftable/ref buy bullets and a scope or two. At level 35 which you pretty much never use the flee other than sell to new players. I dont think the question at hand in how they asked it made an impact on actual raid gameplay, it had everything to do with locking players progression so they paid for unheard because they have no idea what to keep or sell until it's too late.
I think FIR hide could work, but only for later upgrades. Maybe add an optional currency fee if the items are not FIR? So you can still just brute force it with money if you want to. Slow down the end game people. It won't effect the people that won't even get there anyway. Things like the later tiers of the bitcoin farm could make the last tier of GPUs need to be FIR too.
That 5.45 rifle is actually called "the mutant". It's meant to be an AR-styled rifle chambered in 7.62 but the manufacturers have expressed interest in making it in 5.45. Pretty cool that this variant is being added to Tarkov.
Casting the negatives aside, the freedom of flee markets is what hooked me on the game, all you got to do is make money and sell stuff, you dont have to do them mission if you dont want to and things sold in flee sure bit more expensive but i feel like i still can enjoy the game even when i cant play the game a lot. Arena breakout flee markets even tho not as open as tarkov back in the day but flees in arenab is the only game right now that can bring me that kind of freedom nowadays.
As a owner of the standard-edition I kinda like the ability to buy stuff from traders (mostly Scav Vests) and sell them on the flea. It helps me get the money to buy the barteritems for the beta-container easier. During the week I have not the time to play more than a short raid, but I can login and buy/sell some stuff in 15 min and do my raids on the weekend. But this is only my second wipe, and I don't know how a FiR-flea looks like. I also think that a not FiR-flea makes it easier for cheaters to sell stuff. [edit] Nonetheless I really liked the first weeks of the wipe with the flea turned off [/edit]
10:11 it is 26% from all answers so its a lot because many people could check 2-3-4 different answers.. i think if you will be able to check just one answer there will be higher % on quest keys
I have played since 2017, MAYBE early 2018, I strongly believe the best game we ever had was open flea market with no weight limit or inertia. The Most pure fun I have ever had in this game was that 2018 time frame where people were taking cases in to loot and so on so forth. The ability for me to just enjoy the game was the most fun. Granted I also really like the hideout now and even like the found in raid for hideout. But at this point I think the WORST thing was when we had in raid only flea market. Yea the market isn't great fully open but its much much better than the raids sucking because the flea market was "Better" in peoples eyes.
I feel like another 'terrible' solution could be to ban the PURCHASE of armor, ammo, and maybe even guns that you aren't progressed enough to buy from traders OR craft (assuming all but top tier would be eventually available this way). The problem with the flea is that the game has an intentionally designed gear progression balance that it completely bypasses. Most ammo that can be listed can already be found on traders or crafted, with only the highest end restricted. However, by design, the workhorse rounds require actual progression and engagement in order to unlock, like 7.62 PS, 5.45 BT, etc. As it is, for 80+% of the wipe if I want to use 7.62 PS, I can either collect it in raid until I progress Prapor and finish Punisher 1, or I could just scav once to get the money to buy it on the flea at a markup to totally skip the intended progression. If I could only buy it on the flea once I've finished Punisher 1, then it goes from buying it on the flea because I didn't bother progressing to buying it off the flea because I wanted to have more than I could get off the trader, or off a craft timer. Then we could still have a normal healthy barter/key/case/med/etc. flea for hideout or quests but not have every wipe turn into money runs to buy gear you shouldn't have yet in order to fight other people with gear they shouldn't have yet. Level 40+s should be a minority even halfway through a wipe, but everyone is geared like they are 40+ because the flea ignores progression.
So my idea is (I am complete noob and just starting in this game) flee can be locked for some time like 3 weeks then, unlocked for almost everyone mby lv 5, I struggled more than I wanted to get to lv 15. Only found in raid items on flea but everything u loot of player is fir unless you take it from someone in ur lobby. Hideout upgrade only for fir items but you have more barters for them and you get fir item from barter or something like that, so you can find one fir cord or barter three cpu for one fir cord
I still think the best way to go about flea changes is have it locked for 2-3 weeks, Make more spawns for keys or barter trades, like cottage key west 221 etc, and on top of that maybe they could add a black market which is the gear and equipment side of the flea, maybe its the higher tier armor or ammo or meta gear or all of it idk how they could go about making it work like that
The worst part of this wipe is definitely the hideout for me and all my casual friends we rely on crafts we can’t get to Simply because we can fine bolts or something. The found in raid kills casuals. I think it would be a cool dynamic to have flea only on the weekend to slow down the streamers that can grind 9-5 every day. I do like the idea of max listing or even like a max purchase option of hey you can only buy and sell x amount a day
Every Hideout upgrade should be either craftable or not have FIR requirement. Being hideout locked is a lot more frustrating then task locked IMO
I found a casual
I don’t understand this. So what if you can’t build a hideout module? None of them are necessary to progress until you get to LK.
The hideout brings functionality and quality of life improvements (like the weapon edit screen which really should just be there be default imo).
This^^^
This is a very good idea
The problem with removing the flea is that you kill casual players. The one that can only play max 10 raids per week will have no chance, or very little chance, to play with better gear. Personally I am in favour in totally removing the flea, just add more barters for keys, I am fine with the loot how it is also.
@@fedolfs Thats not the playerbase they are focusing on, they never wanted it to be that way, they want it to be as hardcore as possible.
Chad's are the ones crying about having the flea maybe they aren't good a Games
I think it also severely cut back on how many cheaters were playing. I felt like an absolute god for the first few weeks and then as soon as the flea market went up I started running into suspicious players quite frequently.
It could just all be coincidence, but I've never had a multi-week success streak like this before in tarkov.
@@jamesproimosWhen RMT is disabled cheaters tend to drop
Closing the flea made early wipe feel so good no chads running the best armor and attachments keys were a struggle but scaving came in clutch

Survey should've asked:
A) Flea
B) No Flea
C) Limited Flea with quest items/keys adjusted for accessibility
I may have put unsure as my answers because C) is the answer I would have given. It's not as clear cut as yes or no because I think both ways long term are flawed.

they can just do more barter trades, higher spawns or straight up sell them

I think the flea market is the main reason there are so many cheaters in Tarkov. If there were no way for cheaters to profit, why would they even bother? Also, the moment you unlock the flea market, the game changes drastically! If you have a couple of hours to farm money, you can get tier 4-5 gear, the best gadgets, etc. This wipe, the first few weeks without the flea market have been so much fun. However, the FIR requirement for the hideout felt kinda schizo-it completely changed the gameplay, making it all about grabbing items and extracting.
Thats the part that I liked ! Felt the same with my last corrugated hose for a upgrade than I did with a gpu.
Same. On my 4th scav junk box due to having sooooo much loot laying around in my inventory. FIR for the hideout is 100% a grind this season
Why people cheat in CS or APex for an example if there is no flee and items to trade? You're delusional
Or, perhaps, most people prefer to not have it. Imagine that.

If we have more alternatives the flea can be done away with completely, but the way it was implemented in this first round made it damn tempting to just ask them to revert everything.

before the flea market existed, I remember grinding soooo long just to get a customs marked room key because I needed a chance to get a keychain or docs case.
For me and my buddy, this wipe has been much more fun early on-except for a few things:
We couldn't do the Shoreline quest until the Flea Market opened and we could buy the necessary keys.
We struggled to find some rare items for the hideout, like the Intelligence Folder or the Military Power Cable-it’s purely luck-based.
I think BSG should add more quest keys for barter and maybe even introduce crafting options for hideout upgrade items across different modules.
Thanks again for news covering.
Oh man the military power cable is such a pain, just at that now.
Just go Ligthhouse or Reserve and Intel Spawns in Drawers. Doable but Grindy.
@@cvonnell thanks pal. I know drawers can spawn intel folder and other useful stuff. But it again RNG, i got two folders in to raids, my buddy still hasn't even one. For the Flee:
A couple of simple rules that would fix it:
1. Allow only gear (weapons, armor, apparell, medical stuff (no stims) to be listed for the first couple of weeks (3-4), no hideout items, no ammo, no keys, no weapon atachments, etc
2. Allow flipping of items from traders ,but limit the maximum price they can be listed at, at the flee of 50% more then the buy price from the traders, eg: an ump costs 450$ and you can list it for up to 675$ (numbers are just an example)
3. Give every quest key at least 2 bartes with 2-3 different items needed per (maybe make it a new trader for only quest keys/ items?)
4. Give items batered from traders (not ref), FIR status, remove any barter loops if existing (eg, barter milk and sugar into moonshine, bater moonshine into 20 energy drinks, bater energy drinks into milk or sugar, this is an example, i have not checked if there are barter loops ingame atm)
5. Allow ammo to be listed on the flee, only in ammo packs of the same amount as found in raid (give the ability to pack FIR bullets into ammo backs in your stash), such ammo packs cannot be opened until sold on the flee (you could make it so only FIR ammo packs can be opened and once bought on the flee, they get the FIR status), remove ability to open ammo packs in raid (spicy)
6. Increase the sell value of hideout items, as they are basically useless, if not Found in raid, OR make it so that FIR hideout items sold on flee are still FIR, that would give these items their value back
This should fix most of not all issues players and bsg have with the flee and most parts of the economy.
Appreciate the news videos. This is where I get the majority of my info on tarkov.
Thanks for the video!
Okay that's good! I was worried it was something wrong on my end when the audio cut out. Hopefully they're on top of it
"Not sure", the state of being without certainty due to a multitude of factors.
I think the timmy's are either on PVE or just stopped playing.
@@2pacboy2am Timmy because I have three kids and a full time job. I play PVE
@ I feel you brother! And remember so long you have fun, who cares what other say.
One things for sure, quest/hideout items for survey answers is brilliant
Good video! I wish BSG would post how many players are actively playing after 1/2 months after wipe and also what level the majority of player base is
I'm late to this video, but I hope someone sees this.
Then people are dumb, or cannot read, therefore their opinion doesn’t matter.
The only reason I didn't answer that the FIR hideout items is difficult was exactly as you stated it didn't make much sense with the question to me.
Try to run cultist circle with 5 SSDs. I know it is pricy but thats how I got mine.
great video and insides - as always, good to have flea market experimented on, i just wish - since i can't really convince myself to PvE - that at some stage we will get wipe/no-wipe options on PvP as i believe it was discussed, i know it will come with challenges like split to the community, servers etc. but for players with limited time to put into the game - like me, i believe it would be a great option
Great content as always, thanks AWM!
See ya!
Everything in the game had meaning before the flea, now its hit 15 and play from a scroll bar on the left of the screen. Flea killed Tarkov
I’ve always wanted them to build in hardcore so you can play without it if you want to, make the game a lot harder for a wipe if you choose to
I answered not sure.
I’ve mostly played PVE up to this point, this is my first PVP wipe.
At first it felt ok but after a while I found myself just waiting for flea.
Not having had much prior wipe comparison is why I chose unsure.
(Though now after more time I would probably choose no.)
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Maybe they could allow the ammo posted on the flea market, but the highest listing be the price of what the trader would sell it for
Easiest fix I thought of for fixing FIR items for hideouts is allowing people to choose the way they want to play.
Right now the hardest part is the found in raid for the hideout, I still haven't seen a sledgehammer this wipe.
You’re just super unlucky then, because sledgehammers are everywhere in tool spawn areas
Drills for me
Go interchange scav, back side of goshan, east inside of the building on the map. Shelves are not full of them but every 2 scav raids you can find 1 there especially since noone needs those anymore.
Take a good look around because sometimes they are laying diagonally on paper boxes
They’re EVERYWHERE. Thank god you don’t need 80 of them. Lol
"Trader flipping bad!"
The only thing that ever made that "bad" was global purchase limits for those trader items, which meant that people could buy up all the trader inventory, and then mark it up to the moon.
Anyone arguing against the free flea, on the grounds of “balance” doesn’t understand that an open flea is the biggest equalizer.
some of the survey was pretty good, but it fell short when it came to the more specific asks about what to change with the Flea... surveys like this always get interpreted different ways like "if i answer this i dont know how theyll take it" "if i say this they may change it but not this other thing they didnt mention that is needed" etc... i dont think many would say "yup just delete flea and change nothing else" because you REALLY cannot make changes in a vacuum with Tarkov, more so than most games. Gotta have supporting changes to make everything work, or everything adjacent feels like doodoo.
and i feel seen... my weekend is Wednesday and Thursday :D
I like if they maybe hid flea behind the scav box or a new like 'dead drop' zone in hideout, where you would buy then have to wait for delivery that was some range of time impacted by fence rep or something.
I'm fine with locked/no flea and FIR for hideout for the most part. My only suggestion would be for lvl 1 hideout be non-FIR.
Just wanted to thank you for the years of tarkov news man.
Make so flea market is only open for a limited time during the week. Like weekend only for example
I would be ok with only being able to sell found in raid items on the flea if when u bought it, it would be found in raid as well. I’m somewhat of a new player and really don’t have time to grind for hours to try to find a led ex for medstation 3.
If the flea had guns, ammo and gear only I'd be cool with it. Finding items for craft and hideout is a nice part of the game.
i feel if you remove all restrictions you just have to look at games like Delta Force or Arena Breakout where you can just buy any top-end gun/armor and attachments from the auction and as long as you just have money.
Fully open was the most fun I've ever had on tarkov, found a red keycard and could play the rest of the wipe like a chad.
I have played the game since before the flea market ever existed that being said unrestricted flea was the most fun i had in tarkov being a level 15 pmc being able to kill a juicer with snb ammo out of my mosin actually made the game fun its not perfect for everyone but its by far the most fun me and my friends had
Same for me
I gave mutiple answers to what changes i would make to flea that contradict each other because i didn't like any of the optional answers provided
There already is a Mutant in 7.62
Incorrect its the Custom Guns NL545
I still think the best way to go about flea changes is have it locked for 2-3 weeks, Make more spawns for keys or barter trades, like cottage key west 221 etc, and on top of that maybe they could add a black market which is the gear and equipment side of the flea, maybe its the higher tier armor or ammo or meta gear or all of it idk how they could go about making it work like that
"not sure" to me reads as "I only played PvE but saw there was a survey so am answering it as best I can"
I hope the event to unlock the flea is the next experiment.
I know it's a small gripe but I wish they would fix military checkpoint cuz that's one of my go-to ammo farm spots
As a new player myself, good luck dealing with anyone over level 15, they are basically the terminator with echo location.
