In this mini-episode, we'll be sampling some transistor noise using an ADC to determine the two winners of my filter giveaway. Наука
i think its a win for everyone since he also taught us how to make a white noise generator
"Pfffffft..." - The transistor has spoken !
I dont think there could have been a better way to pick the winners ...AND we learned something so WE ALL WON YALL hahaha
That's the most transparent and fair randomized choice of winners I've seen on youtube! Great job!
you have no idea how long he's been sitting there pressing the button to get the results he wanted
@@bottlekruiser Sounds like someone's salty they didn't win it... good luck next time though 🤷♂
@@TheAnotherOSC how dares he do the rng whole 16 months before i even saw the giveaway video, let alone cheese it...
smh my head
@@bottlekruiser SMH = shaking my head.
shaking my head my head?
@@TheAnotherOSC yes
most entertaining raffle prize announcement ive seen, the white noise even sounded like a drum roll!
Congrats to the two winners! This was a great creative way to pick them, Moritz!
Genius way of selecting the winners.. 🙏🏻
Congratulations to winners! I didn't won, but I was very happy when saw my name in the beginning of the list! And by the way, thank you for white noise generator schematic, I will definitely try to use it in snare/clap drum :)
This is the best way to determine a winner of a giveaway yet. Very awesome idea.
So close and grats to the winners. What a genius way to find the winners!
Nothing like creating a "devining rod" to attenuate the cosmic microwave background for a good old roll of the dice!!!
Glückwunsch! Und danke, dass du alles an Dateien und sonstigem zugänglich machst und die Sachen auch so gut erklärst!
Das ist eine sehr kreative Art und Weise ein Gewinnspiel zu veranstalten!
Best way to pick a winner! I have never enjoyed losing so much
Love the way this was drawn. 👏🏻 Well done to the lucky winners. Thank you Moritz for the opportunity to enter the giveaway.
So cool! Congrats to the lucky winners
*6:23* _The anisotropic reflections from your silver knobs are mesmerizing!_ 😵
Great idea! 👍
Congratulations to the lucky winners. 🎉
Congrats to the winners!
Haha that was brilliant Moritz, nice one. Well done to the winners :)
That's a interesting way to pick them. Great idea.
Daamn this is so creative! And also in theme to the whole synth diy electronic channel!
This was amazing!
congrats guys!
very very cool circuit &
congrats to the winners..
Dude, this was fun!!
Awesome! Very nice Idea! Grüsse!
That was fun!
Ausgezeichnetes Verfahren! Toll gemacht!!! :-)
Gutted I didn't win, but this video made up for it. Brilliant idea and very informative. Thank you
This is awesome!
That was unique 😳🍻
would have been fun to win one, but I'm glad now Im going to just build one. You've given me a summer project!
By the way, it’s safer to put the collector to ground via 1MΩ resistor to prevent it from catching the RF.
Such a great idea.
This is so cool
Even if I didn´t win the module, I win more knowledge everytime :-) Congratulations to the Winners...und noch mal Vielen Danke Moritz fur diese Lektion!
Hardware random generation is awesome!
Haha very nice raffling! 👌
Hah, very nicely done. Need to get to building, I guess!
lol, das war ja tatsächlich echter zufall :D
But this surely would not be random right? If we would sample the frequency, sure it could be quite random. But within time domain, its actually randomly distributed around a zero-mean. Or in this case: half of the ADCs range: 255. Which is quite close to the actual winners! Really cool device, but I think your computers RNG still did most of the heavy lifting.
Great way, state of the art.
damn! so close. that was fun tho!
I had literally just found this transistor white noise generator circuit on schmitzbits yesterday and built it before I saw your video. Now I feel guilty that I'm "torturing" the poor transistor lol
That was one of the best draws ever:)Have you considered offering a kit? I think the people from thonk could make that work in a way you don't actually have to deal with hardware/shipping etc.
I didn't win but I was definitely educated and entertained. Maybe I'll build one of these darn things after all.
suppppper quality. please make electronics basics videos ❤️ in ur styleeee. not very basic but tips and ideas
I was near!
I followed a couple of frames, and it does look like the bits tend to go to high, and actually there are several frames where the output was all ones.
Awesome
F in the chat for the guy that got picked but passed over during the test.
Another great video. Let's see if there are at least 507 good sports that didn't win who like this video.
Nice hiss!
Cheers adc0820 looks awesome fun
I have a suspicion that there's going to be DCO's in the near future :)
I had to ggoolge dco circuit
So close! Haha
Super cool way of doing this Moritz. Bravo 👊 Kurze Frage - which OpAmp did you use to amp the white noise? Thank you again 🙌🙌🙌
This was amazing! Do I need anything beyond the op amp to use that white noise generator in a eurorack DIY module?
no, i would recommend you remove the trimmer though!
Oh Moritz, why do I always have bad luck ? :-)
I love your videos! Been searching for those Capacitors you use, the film caps. Do you know where I could order a big batch or a kit of different value polypropylene film caps online? Cheers! And keep up doing great videos!
if you google "WIMA capacitors" you should be able to find kits!
Isn't that an integral circuit for the probability drive on the "heart of gold"?
Is there a transistor giving the most pleasing noise?
Which transistor has the most melodic noise ?
Moritz when will we be getting a ringmod episode?
I’m interested
Darn.... didn't win... did see my name on the list though! Lol
Figures. I religiously watch every video start to finish and few minutes my new born distracted me from your video I missed the giveaway
but quantum entanglement... is it really random :D
Lol It might be me but it wasn't - Never mind congrats to the winners :-)
Frank Ocean! Haha!
It doesen´t work at me but why?
This episode inspired me to make an electrical engineering meme www.reddit.com/r/sciencememes/comments/o78haj/they_dont_really_like_that/
Show the Noise PSD so we know this isn't rigged! Cool Video
