My understanding is that there are three versions of the Love bracelet. The original with the screws that come out, an updated version where the screws do not come out, and then a very recent version (within the last year or two) where the screws don’t come out but also have a safety built it where each turn clicks into place. That is the version I have. When tightening or loosening it’s not one continuous turn but rather short turns until it clicks, and you can hear it. It’s supposed to stop the exact issue you are having. I too am in the states so things could be different here. I understand your attachment to your own piece and the frustration you are having. I would recommend going to another boutique and getting a second opinion. Even if that means some traveling.
I got my LOVE bracelet oryginal size in white Gold with 1 diamond in 2021, as a 5-year anniversary gift and since I love this design simplicity and watched all possible online reviews decided to go for the CUFF verssion. Could not be More happy !! No mechanism system or any possible losing problems in the future. If we pay sooo much money for the special piece that has sentimental value we should NOT worry to lose it so easily.
This I why I bought the cuffs - also so I could easily remove since I don’t usually leave jewelry on relaxing at home. I love the ease of wearing them.
Hello, you should not have to tighten it every day. My husband had the same problem about a year and a half ago he took it in to Cartier and they sent it out. He got it back within like two weeks and they fixed the problem. We are in USA. He has never had that issue again.
I have 3 love bracelets with the new mechanism and this happened to all 3! I took them to the boutique and they sent them out for me and had them back within 6 weeks, not 6 months. They shined them and replaced the locking mechanism for free. They looked literally brand new! It has been almost a year and I haven’t had to tighten them since! Just drop them off and they will be like new, don’t risk it!!
I'm so glad you're talking about this because mine is not even 2 years old and I can already feel it getting loose. I have to tighten it once every two weeks, the first year I just did it once every 6 months. I really don't feel like this is normal, and the customer service takes way too long for the price we pay! We should get premium service ! Please keep us updated on this. :)
As a person who use to work with jewelry I can confirm all the comments. You need to have it send to repair center. This is a quality issue! Go back to Cartier and demand the service they own you. So weird that they didn't do it already.
I know solid Gold wedding rings and watches wear down over time from the sweat/salt in our skin and the friction. You love your bracelet soo much❤it’s worth it to send it off so it’s secure. All things wear over time if used and enjoyed.😊 Its frustrating to have the hassle especially since youre so busy and wedding is coming next year.
Wow 😮 So sorry to hear this… I have three and have never had an issue . My original I did take back recently and they shipped it out to have the new screw mechanism changed but no issues. I never take mine off where as my friend takes hers on and off ! I think that puts wear and tear on it. My SA is wonderful and so accommodating- I periodically take them in to just be checked and cleaned . I hope this situation gets resolved
I agree with you. That is way too much money to worry about it falling off. What a hassle to tighten it every day. For that price it should be worry free.
Thanks for posting this! My love bracelet is the same as yours. Bought it two years ago and it only needed to be tightened every few months or so. Now I’m tightening it once a week - so same this is happening! The concept of the design should allow us to wear it with security and peace of mind! We should not have to carry the screw driver around with us or use some sort of glue fix! Very frustrating. I like the idea of having an independent jeweler look at it. I’m not anywhere close to a Cartier. Bought it on a trip.
It's been two months sice you uploaded the video, but as someone who is studying jewellery making and goldsmithing I wanted to drop a word :) I guess the vibrations caused the wearer's movements and impacts with something else can cause the screws to loosen, it is normal, and the fact that you have to keep screwing them back might ruin the screw threads and the thread in which they sit inside the bracelet. Gold is a softer metal, after all. I think having an independent goldsmith see it would be a good idea, they have experience and knowledge in the field that a sales associate cannot have, and are not limited by the brand's policies and interests, so they can come up with a different but better solution. Even if they will have to modify the closing mechanism, you will still keep the bracelet that is important to you. Hope this helps!
Lou I know it sucks but you are probably better off asking for a new bracelet with the new system. This will save you a lot of mental stress: you won't have to wait, you won't have to stress out about it possibly falling off,... I know the one you have right now has sentimental value but you will make new memories with the new one too!
I got the new mechanism put on mine and haven’t had any loose screws since! Definitely have them fix it! They have amazing customer service. Good luck!
You are so lovely! I hope that Cartier can repair and not have to replace this LOVE bracelet! I understand that it is sentimental and each mark or scratch is part of its story! Fingers crossed for you!!!🥰💖🥰💖🤞🏼
I recently (like 2 months ago) got the thinner version of the love bracelet and mine isn’t two separate halves. It has only one built in screw on one side and the other side is just like a door hinge so it stays together on one side even when it’s off. But when I got it, the Sales asssiate basically implied that it would break eventually…and kept bringing it up, it was very strange.
I got my bracelet a year ago with the new mechanism. The new mechanism clicks every time you turn the nail a little bit. If you don’t feel this constant clicking, then you have the old one. Ask to see a new love bracelet in store and try to turn the nail your self so you feel if you have the newer or not. If you have the older one, ask to send it to Paris.
I have owned my love bracelet for 10 years....I had no issues with it at all until the 5th year, wear I was constantly having to tighten the screws. I brought it into the Paris store and in 24 hours they fixed it....I have not had an issue with it since. You should never have to tighten it on a regular basis. I am surprised that anyone at Cartier would tell you that. Take it to Paris....Good luck😊
Hi Lou! There IS a new NEW system - my bracelet is the new version with the screws that don't come off. Less than a year into having the bracelet, the 2 halves weren't aligning easily anymore so I had to send it in for assessment. When they returned my bracelet (I think within 2-3 months), they had replaced the screws with the NEW system where each turn of the screw kind of "clicks". It definitely feels so much more secure and I don't find it loosening over time as much as before. I think it's totally worth sending it in! Honestly, the jewelers who assess and fix the pieces know a LOT more than the SAs, so don't just take her word for it when she says "it's fine" to her eyes.
Just get the new mechanism. If they say it seems fine and you don’t need it, insist you do because it’s a free service guaranteed globally. Cartier had a new mechanism from around 2022 and it has this sort of clicking sound when you screw it, it’s way more secure. I never wanted to get the bracelet before this new mechanism because of all the issues with falling off. Now it’s secure. It shouldn’t take a full 6 months to replace but even if it does, it’s worth the wait because you’re wearing it for a lifetime (or passed down generations) anyway.
So crazy you uploaded this. I lost mines 2 weeks ago it fell off when I was out. I was completely devastated. So much money down the drain😢no sense stressing over something I can’t control though so c’est la vie
Hi Lou, I have the new clicking system, and I know people having their older system changed to the new system, and it doesn’t take 6 months. More like a few weeks. Good luck.❤
I have mine with ten diamonds since 2005 with the old screw system. I never have to tighten screws and had them on all the time. It never fallen off of my wrist. I am sorry you had to go through with that issue☹️Cartier should do something for customers with these issues.
I have an original yellow gold love bracelet and during the first year one side kept loosening and I kept having to tighten it. I went back to my SA and she sent it out for enhancement! It took probably 6-8 weeks but when it came back the screws had notches that you could feel when you turned the screw. This enhancement has made it soooo much better! I can check on my bracelet less frequently and it hasn’t loosened on its own since! Good luck! (I’m in the US, if that is helpful)
Ooh that is a headache.. I got the love bracelet ( open cuff version) since long time and it never fell although it is open model. I have one suggestion, ask the SA to secure it with glue . I heard that the SA at Cartier apply glue on the screws , I know that is not so appealing but at least you will not lose it
French luxury houses seem to never be wrong. And if they take it for repair they always threaten months for you to get your very expensive item back! The repair department can’t be that busy. If I were you though I’d get it repaired. You are spending a lot of time and energy worrying about it falling off.
Lou /guys how is situation with a love bracelet during security control at the airport?? ✈️ Does it make sound while passing metal detector? 🤔 Have you been asked to remove it? I see so many different comments on tiktok and I’m confused 🥵 Thanks 🌷
Hi Lou, I bought our Love bracelets in 2018. One was a gift for hubby and after a month, those problems started. It also felt off (at home). Cartier kept it in the store for a couple of weeks to fix something. But it didn’t help at all. Hubby didn’t like to wear it anymore. We even tried the „clue hacks“, but honestly it’s a very expensive bracelet. After returning it with the same issues I finally received a new bracelet for hubby. Since I own the thin bracelet, I never ever experienced any issues with it. I love the bracelet, it’s one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I hope you‘ll find a solution soon. I wish you all the best 💕.
So frustrating, I don’t think that you need to babysit jewelry, I did try the small size and I don’t know if it’s a different system but it is connected in one side and closed with a screw only in one side . thank you for the first and update video because I was consider to buy it and now I’m not sure ❤ if you want to know I have the nail bracelet and it drives me crazy also😂😂 i literally have a clear elastic on the tip to stop it from sticking in my clothing 🤦🏻♀️so don’t feel bad that you didn’t choose it
I have worn my Cartier love bracelet for 5 years straight and never had any issues with it; within the last week, I took it to a jeweler and had it polished; I RARELY have to tighten the screws...maybe once or twice a year; it sounds like your bracelet screws need to be replaced; you shouldn't have to continually tighten the screws. Rosey 😊
I have the enhancement done as well last year in NL. It works very well, amazing. Never had to tighten it again! xx They took the bracelet for 2/3 weeks and they changed for the click system. Please go and get it fixed :)
@ Thank you for the reply! Im thinking about getting my first one, and I was worried about this issue! Glad to hear that its no longer giving u any problems!
After wearing mine non stop for 1.5 years, I noticed to started to get a little loose. It would get more and more loose often. I took it off and inside where the bracelet closes it was filled with grime so I cleaned it all out with a qtip and have not had that problem since.
I bought mine love regular bracelet in January 2023. had no idea there is a new mechanism. I asked SA to put a bracelet at the store and she did. I remember clearly it was like 2,5 twists on each side. No problem, never checed it later on... If you have a problem with your bracelet and it's clear you have it, take it to the Cartier store and insist they fix it. It's not normal to wear a screw with you 24/7 and worry all the time if you might lose 8000 €.... that's crazy! Be persistant and don't leave the store until they find a solution that suits you.
Hi Lou. Watching your video makes me thinking of my current problem. It’s so frustrating buying an item so expensive and being treated like sh*t. I’m currently waiting for a 16,5 thousand refund from a Luxury second hand online shop (luxo inteligente), for almost two months with no satisfying responses. It really makes me want to never buy a luxury item anymore 😢.
Are you are stacking your love bracelet with other jewelry or a watch? As your jewelry touch it causes vibrations which will loosen the screws. I used to stack two love bracelets and I would have to tighten every day. Once I started wearing it alone or next to a lightweight bracelet the screws would stay tight.
Everything is exactly the same with mine. I have the same locking system as you and I tighten it every day, carrying my screwdriver with me always... Annoying. I did read somewhere that some people use glue called ,lockit, something like that..ugh
I bought my love bracelet in 1997, I never take it off. About 20 years ago I lost a screw while I was in Italy on vacation, I went into a Cartier store & they didn’t have any screws to replace it so they took off the other screw & I waited till I got home. I have the old one where the screws are not attached. ❤
Hey, I had the love bracelet and it fell off after 6 months I purchased it while I was walking and I never found it. I don’t recommend it honestly because you’re paying a very high price for a jewellery piece that is supposed to last. I was very heartbroken.. Cartier didn’t even do anything about it.
They have a new enhancement they can do that has like internal notches that do click when you screw it shut. That’s the new system the Paris SA is referring to
I've had mine for 4 years. I have noticed a little bit of looseness on occasion but I tighten the screws and it is fine. It's never fallen off or gotten loose enough that it could have fallen off. I'm wondering if the screws have stripped because of tightening it too often or over-tightening. I love mine and am so glad I have it. I do think yours may be defective. It's time for Cartier to take responsibility for this. The SA is not an expert. It should be checked out by a skilled goldsmith. If it has to go back to Cartier then do it. You've experienced enough frustration over this.
The same happened to me. My bracelet had the new locking mechanism but then it’s started becalming lose and would pop open. I almost lost the bracelet. I took it to the store and it was sent to be repaired. It took about 5 weeks. They shined and replaced the locking mechanism where it clicks when you twist and lock it.
I don’t think this will be super helpful to your case but when I was getting mine my SA recommended me to get the slim one, not the original. I am a petite woman so it does look better and more proportionate to me but she warned me strongly against the closing system of the original and said that it was easier to lose. My point is if the SA warns it could accidentally fall off then I think its just a known issue unfortunately 😔
I think it became loose is because you stack it with other bracelet and watches. Because it hit each other when you move your hand. I got mine I wear it alone never stack it and is still tight for many years now… my SA told me love bracelet is meant to wear it alone and not stack it everyday. 🙏
I think you should get the whole new screw system. Another youtuber, Black and Gold Style has had this done. Maybe go to your SA in Paris the next time you go there. Cartier need to provide a solution, you should not have to worry about a thousands of euro bracelet falling off.
I couldn't close mine, it was one year old. I took it to store in Venice. They send it to Paris. After 2,5 months they called me that the bracelet is reshaped. They offered me a new one for the 60% eur of the new one. They told me you should never sleep with the bracelet and that it is not meant to wear it all the time. I declined the new one I will try to fix it in local jewelry store. On mine opinion not worth the money you pay it.
Maybe she is too nice and she should really say "alright this is not acceptable for a 7k bracelet so this situation has to be solved and there is no reason why it should take 3/6 months". That really sucks.
In the meantime..., I would use it very cautiously: not in the ocean, only to a restaurant type situation and being hyper aware while wearing it. As other viewers have mentioned: you should not have to deal with this, Cartier's CS is disappointing.
I have had multiple bad experiences with Dior one with a refund too it’s a shame too because they have such good quality out of the major luxury houses 🙁 I think Dior has outsourced their customer service to anyone with a phone and a computer. In the US you hear cop cars all the time in the background and kids screaming while they are on the phone and the Customer service rep isn’t always given the right information it’s just bad it’s all bad. I have talked to others that love Dior and same issues 😪😕
Cartier will OFFER to send a Love bracelet out for the new screw mechanism. Mine came back within 3 weeks of leaving it with them. Came back looking brand new! No charge! Wonderful customer service. When you wear multiple Love bracelets the daily vibrations will naturally cause the screws to loosen. Some bracelets loosen quicker than others. White gold tends to stay much tighter as the metal is naturally stronger. I don’t think Cartier ever anticipated people wearing multiple Love bracelets when they first came up with the locking design. Tighten your screws often and insure your jewelry. If you don’t care to insure it or carry a screwdriver with you then this isn’t the bracelet for you. All jewelry requires some level of care. I think what your SA was saying is that yes you do have the newest version of the bracelet where the screws do not detach however, you do not have the actual new screw mechanism. It’s an enhancement. Maybe there was a lack of communication. You need to bring the bracelet back and say you want the new screw mechanism. 4-6 weeks is normal for Cartier repairs and I will say mine never take as long as they quote in-store. Good luck!
I used to have exactly the same problem like you. With the years it started getting loose and loose to the point that I had to tighten it a few times a day. My SA told me about the new system and it will take 4 to 6 weeks to be fixed. I live in the US/ it took them 5 weeks to fix and since then I haven’t been having any issues with the bracelet. Have worn it for almost a year and haven’t tightened once.
I have the trinity bracelet 3-gold from Cartier. Not even after two years the clasp has broken! I was lucky enough to notice. I sent it to Cartier. They actually want me to pay 251 Swiss Francs (yes you read that right) to get it fixed! I’m so upset! 😡 This is clearly a faulty material resp. bad quality! I‘m not impressed with the service nor the quality of the items. Wanted to buy the love bracelet next but instead I bought the vca vintage alhambra necklace in malachite and I’m very happy with that decision. F*** Cartier!
You cannot fix it at any jewellery store (not designer) for cheap. I once did fix my watch at a jewellery for free, he didn’t even want take money. They have the tools and they are used to do it quickly.
I can’t believe Chanel made you pay the price increase…….it wasn’t your fault that it was defective…I’m shocked but not shocked lol I hope they’re able to find out the issue for your bracelet!
i feel like it would be easier for you to fly to paris and take it there to repair rather than wait 3-6months at the barcelona store for a solution that sounds like a "maybe"
Why would it be faster if she goes to Paris? I mean Barcelona is close to Paris so there is nothing that justifies it takes so long. Anyways, I can't believe it takes so long for a luxury brand to solve this problem and it makes me second hand mad 😅
@perthfanny3017 in my perspective, why waste time going to the Barcelona store and have to wait 3-6mo to get the bracelet back when they aren't even aware of the solution the Paris team already proposed? It would cost money to fly over, but flights within EU aren't especially pricey and you could make a short weekend trip out of it. I think its a balance of how much you value your time and how badly she wants the bracelet fixed
hola, yo me compre el brazalete love (version mas fina) y tiene un sistema que hace click cuando la cierras, por ahora no he tenido problemas. Intento no quitármela mucho por consejo de mi vendedora. Espero te sirva mi opinión.
3 to 6 months!!!! to ship to Paris, check it and return???? Are they going to walk to Paris? That's just not acceptable for a luxury brand like Cartier. I studied jewelry design for 5 years, not saying I'm the expert in this stuff, but I think the screw lock got loose because every time you close the bracelet, the screw is pressing against the gold... and it's 18kt so the gold is "soft"... 9 kt, 14 kt is a bit tougher than 18 kt. Cartier should sort this out for you, you paid enough for this jewelry piece.
Honestly Lou you are not at fault that is ridiculous for the amount of money we pay to have to be fixing the item ourselves over and over again…if possible just take it to Paris instead and you get a trip out of it… if I get it, we paid a high amount for my wives Louis Vuitton bag, and the strap came coming off. We took it to the store to repair in June of 2022…we got it back two weeks ago…so yeah this is ridiculous, do not feel bad, take it in and with tact request that it be treated with the price point it came with
Send this in to have it checked. You don't want to lose this and be out all of that money. It's terrible that you're having to go through this hassle. Makes me not want to buy this.
Why does the customer have to do so much work to wear their jewelry? Paying so much for it is insane. How ppl justify paying so much for such poor design is just beyond me.

A customer should not have to constantly repair an item. They make it difficult for you to just replace stripped screws.

WHAT ??? Ive never heard this… i have one too for about a month now
They're selling a product that they say will break? And they're charging over the odds for it? That is so weird!
I have the small love in yg and rg for a couple years now with no issues. I’m hoping they create a regular version.

Does it make sound while passing metal detector? 🤔 Have you been asked to remove it? I see so many different comments on tiktok and I’m confused 🥵
Thanks 🌷
Hi Lou,
I bought our Love bracelets in 2018.
So frustrating, I don’t think that you need to babysit jewelry, I did try the small size and I don’t know if it’s a different system but it is connected in one side and closed with a screw only in one side .
thank you for the first and update video because I was consider to buy it and now I’m not sure ❤ if you want to know I have the nail bracelet and it drives me crazy also😂😂 i literally have a clear elastic on the tip to stop it from sticking in my clothing 🤦🏻♀️so don’t feel bad that you didn’t choose it
small size is more secured and easy to put on in that sense as it wont go into two pieces
Hi love, I have had my love bracelet (new from boutique) for about 1 year and mine comes loose weekly. My friend also lost hers walking last month.
Never had to tighten it again! xx
They took the bracelet for 2/3 weeks and they changed for the click system. Please go and get it fixed :)
May I ask how much the new click system cost? Thanks
It was free of charge! :) x @@maka2224
Have there been any issues since the enhancement was done?
@@jjinddoong No non at all! screws never bunged again :)
@ Thank you for the reply! Im thinking about getting my first one, and I was worried about this issue! Glad to hear that its no longer giving u any problems!
This is the only reason I have the small ones and a cuff. Why can’t they make it hinged like the small one?
After wearing mine non stop for 1.5 years, I noticed to started to get a little loose. It would get more and more loose often. I took it off and inside where the bracelet closes it was filled with grime so I cleaned it all out with a qtip and have not had that problem since.
had to watch bc I just lost mine. and it does have the locking screws. it still falls off even if the screws don't come out
I bought mine love regular bracelet in January 2023. had no idea there is a new mechanism.
I think the more you tighten the screws the more it strips the threading
I had same issues with mine and end up loosing it 😭 I wish you all the best 😍
Omg love your tea set!!!
I would use locktite blue to keep the screw from backing out.
It seems so stressful to have the love bracelet.
Love your channel lots je you always make me smile and always brighten up my day you will always be my inspiration and my favourite RUclipsr ❤❤
I’m having same issue - took two years to develop but I wear mine alone - no stacking.
I got the new clicking system this summer. Because too many bracelet falling off with the old systems
This bracelet is too stressful. Mine fell off on vacation. I had it fixed and sold it. Living my best life with a gorgeous Roberto Coin bracelet.
That’s crazy, my first love bracelet is about 10 years old and second about 4-5 and I have only tightened both once or twice .. since ..
Omg! Exactly the same problem 😢
Awww sorry to hear that hope it gets sorted.
They have a new enhancement they can do that has like internal notches that do click when you screw it shut. That’s the new system the Paris SA is referring to
I purchased my love bracelet almost 5 years ago and it’s been on my wrist since then. I’ve never taken it off and it has never fallen off 🤔
That’s why I decided against the regular Love but got the small Love bracelet. At least it’s worry-free.
I am trying to find a video where yu tell the name/brand of your handbag hook?! I need one, but not sure which one to get...
Carrie atelier 🫶🏼
Thank you and I saw that brand! I will get one now (-:: Thank you again!!@@JesuisLou
Thanks for talking about this! Go back to the store, you shouldn’t have to tighten it everyday. Given the price, you should be able to ask for a fix.
I hope you can get it fixed quickly ❤
I've had mine for 4 years. I have noticed a little bit of looseness on occasion but I tighten the screws and it is fine. It's never fallen off or gotten loose enough that it could have fallen off. I'm wondering if the screws have stripped because of tightening it too often or over-tightening. I love mine and am so glad I have it. I do think yours may be defective. It's time for Cartier to take responsibility for this. The SA is not an expert. It should be checked out by a skilled goldsmith. If it has to go back to Cartier then do it. You've experienced enough frustration over this.
Thank you for this information. After hearing this I think it is better and safer to invest the same money in a watch.🤔
There is a newer screw system. Go back to the boutique and look at their new bracelets to see if they have it.
My (Cartier) Juste un Clou fell off at the gym and it was never found. The worst is losing something you cherish!
I've seen that happening very often now... now I'm having second thoughts about getting one 😢
The nyc store replaced mine with a new one after two failed repairs
Yeah that’s crazy that you need to tighten it that often. Customer service should be better! I would go to Paris directly..
Love bracelet is still a great piece. Please push Cartier to fix your bracelet. Do they have phone or online support you can contact?
Maybe she is too nice and she should really say "alright this is not acceptable for a 7k bracelet so this situation has to be solved and there is no reason why it should take 3/6 months". That really sucks.
In the meantime..., I would use it very cautiously: not in the ocean, only to a restaurant type situation and being hyper aware while wearing it. As other viewers have mentioned: you should not have to deal with this, Cartier's CS is disappointing.
There is a new mechanism but it needs to be dropped off and sent in for it to be added on
I have had multiple bad experiences with Dior one with a refund too it’s a shame too because they have such good quality out of the major luxury houses 🙁 I think Dior has outsourced their customer service to anyone with a phone and a computer.
I heard this would happen to others so I ended up going with the small model.
You cannot fix it at any jewellery store (not designer) for cheap. I once did fix my watch at a jewellery for free, he didn’t even want take money. They have the tools and they are used to do it quickly.
Get the love enhancement! This is the little clicking system. It’s very worth it. You should not be tightening every day.
Take it to the store now
hola, yo me compre el brazalete love (version mas fina) y tiene un sistema que hace click cuando la cierras, por ahora no he tenido problemas.
We took it to the store to repair in June of 2022…we got it back two weeks ago…so yeah this is ridiculous, do not feel bad, take it in and with tact request that it be treated with the price point it came with
But I would retire it for now because if you lose it, that would be more heartbreaking
This is inadvertantly funny
I never wear jewelry to bed. I accidentally fell asleep the other day wearing gold hoops and bent one. Have to take it in to the jewelers.
Theres a new system dropping 9/1 ! Its announced on the UK site
what do you mean a new system?
Oh that’s so disappointing
Sell it and get another one.
Mannn this is too much
