  • Israel's genocide in Gaza has now surpassed a year, and is quickly spiraling into a regional war that now includes a ground front in Lebanon. As the world reels from the horrors witnessed in the past year alone, how are members of Israeli society justifying those horrors to themselves? In part two of this two-part episode commemorating the solemn anniversary of Oct. 7, Canada-based Israeli filmmaker and journalist Lia Tarachansky joins The Marc Steiner Show to discuss the dark psychological forces shaping Israelis' support for the occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

They justify it just the way we did, we Americans, we Brits, we Germans. We share the narrative. In all the long prognostications “we” insist this is what other people are doing. We the colonizers with a few terrorisms too, along the road, IRA, but mostly colonizers whose mission has been from day one the fantasy of revision. Don’t waste the opportunity, again, please, to see that proxy wars are self defense against self realization.

It’s the most horrible time in my 61 years on earth. There are dictators in a number of countries causing this chaos to happen. It is in every country. I am in the U.S. and the insanity on the right via Trump-Putin has been absolutely exhausting.

Hack, I left Crimea weech is occupied by Russia since 2014 to Israel for economic reasons, and I can see the insanity in both places.

The Kach regime are following orders of Washington. Your far right insane dictator lives in the Whitehouse. Biden/Blinken arm fund and supply intel to their proxy as the main party to the conflict.

Nowhere to go is kind of a stretch, a good deal of Israeli citizens have dual citizenship. For those that don't I am quite sure that western countries are willing to make an exception. Jewish people are largely well educated and known to be entrepreneurial many countries would be scrambling to get them to be their citizens.

Wouldn't be that sure about the so-called Mizrahim, who now make up about 50% of the population, if not more.
      And, of course, the Ethiopians.

Should have learned back in 1945 ! NO? “Never again” obviously only applied to one group of people.
