The way the furnace works is infuriating. You have to put 100 of one really rare resource (and possibly risk losing all of it), need to baby sit it and can't build walls too close to the opening due to the massive flames doing damage to those walls when venting it. And if you do it all correctly and beats the machines you still only get back a small percentage of a refined resource. To top it of are those refined resources now also needed for building/crafting a lot quite basic stuff, so it doesn't feel like it is worth the time and effort. The other new structures I'm more or less fine with, they are not as bad the furnace.
Many players found the base mechanics too fiddly and preferred to get materials as loot. You could enjoy crafting, augments, clothing, etc without them but are now forced to. Those who liked bases now have to redesign around the factories and scrapping base components does not give refined materials back. It is even tough to abandon a base so you can get one in a better location. This arrangement alienates both groups and needs fixed.
The Devs should have the base defence and crafting alone and spent the time and money on the new island. It seems to have been thrown together. Most of the island is empty or just not explore able. It's like they wanted to kill the game off
It’s not that they wanted to kill it. They had a lot of their support pulled and it was put towards the money maker, Hunter Call of the wild, they had to reuse assets and were forced to pick and choose as they were on a time limit.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how much better the game runs and looks on the PS5. I’m playing on the PRO but even after the 60fps update that happened about a year ago, the game seems to look a lot better recently.
I would like to add that anyone who built up their control points before the showdown update you can scrap your walls in an unused base to place them around your structure
For the furnace when on the high setting it will be ready to release the heat every 30 seconds keep in mind if you are a few seconds off it will still overheat in the next 30 seconds
Wow! So many crybabies. I think the update actually gave more purpose and meaning to base defence. The loop makes much more sense now. Collect raw materials, refine in base defences and at the same time aggro rivals to go and farm again for materials, exps and other loot
And once again you go pointing things out and explaining stuff with "this here..." and a "but over here..." while showing gameplay of you shooting machines. Do you even watch these things before posting them? You might have valuable things to say, and valid points you're trying to get across, but it's pretty damned pointless if you're saying one thing while showing us something completely different.
Yeah I played for about 3 hours I decided because of the bad crafting changes it's no longer the I loved 2 years ago and chose to start a new fallout 4 playthrough and decided not touch generation zero till they fix it
Its like the devs heard our immense disappointment and frustration with the crafting changes and said ah fuck em they'll learn to deal with it

correction: refined materials now show up in dismantling and inspecting the truck gives an abandon option.
This update just killed an essential part of the game.
If they don’t fix it…
It’s terrible base defense ruined crafting now it’s more forced if you want to do anything meaningful in the game sad

Yeah put in 100 in an get a low amount back.

I bought this game in debut, it was just running around shooting robots so I shelved it. When did they add bases?!?
A few years ago, it started out as a single base and then they decided you need like 15
Anyone know what bots drops the new HP 5 experimental gun ?

Yes the complaining can be irritable but an update that can come to a middle ground to please both sides would be nice
The basic system needs to be fixed. What's the point?
So not related to the video but I wanted to ask why the exp AI feels like it ads speed is so slow compared to other guns
They did this on purpose to ruin the game so they could shut down the servers.

Is it true they are shutting the game down

People are still playing GZ? Wow...
