What about dse on your model? My Q90T is a great tv but I hate dse especially during game like fifa, where is very noticeable. It’s not visible in many game, but now that I see it it’s became impossible to me not see it.
Would it be better if I did a separate video testing uniformity separate from the review (of course I’ll mention DSE in the review) About the black crush thing you were mentioning I feel very similar no one ever mentions there is a shadow detail slider to try to correct these things, it’s weird how some just say “yup it has black crush” but talk nothing beyond that.
With the QN90A being a VA panel and the QN85A being an IPS panel, would there be impactful response time differences that could matter to gamers looking to purchase one of these two mini-LED TVs? I’m wondering if maybe that was the strategy in releasing the two different types of panels with in the 4K mini-LED 120Hz offerings this year as gaming is a huge focus/strategy in the realm of HDMI 2.1 devices. Black smearing is a concern. During motion, it can look terrible. 😁
Ratings reviewed the qn85a and gave a 8.2 but said it’s better than q80t and q90t so I’m going to buy it , I have a q80r and enjoying it but it’s older tv for Ps5
Thing is, when you're gaming, you really don't search for minor defects etc. If they doesn't really pop out, you don't even realize there was any "blooming" and so on.. i think this QN90A looks absolutelu stunning, really vibrant and colourfull picture.
Awesome reviews, I am big gamer I have all the consoles and even a gaming pc. Your videos helped me decide between the QN90A & LG C1 I am coming from a Q70R & I found that TV was to dim especially in HDR almost like a black layer was over the whole thing no matter what settings I tweaked. Almost everyone screams OLED but, was afraid it would basically be the same brightness but just a perfect version of it. So, now after watching many videos I have a 75inch QN90A coming thank you.
I am trying to decide between these 2 as well. How do you like it so far? How are the blacks/ dark scenes? Also any blooming or is it noticeable? How is local dimming in game mode?
I just bought this QN90A to use as pc monitor. I was thinking about LG c1, but the fear of burn in keeps bugging me so much. Good to see that this tv is so good on gaming.
My thing about this TV as of 2022, is I was looking to buy a Samsung odyssey g9 neo. But this TV does everything the monitor does. The only major difference is the missing curve of the monitor. But the TV is half the price, and it's bigger. I feel like this was the better buy.
Dude I bought the QN90A 65 inch and let me tell you AMAZING! One thing the input lag is lower from what I read I believe 10ms in 4k60 and 6-7ms 120hz but I'm not 100% I guess ratings will publish shortly
@@TechWithKG from what I read it's like 9. Something ms input lag on 60 fps but yeah man I LOVE it so far as a gamer for sure not sure about movies but it looked better than my Samsung from 2 years ago which is 4kHDR60fps Man does it POP and that tv was good not great but there's a night and day difference in everything
Good to hear this. Are you glad you bought it instead of oled as im still on the fence and just about to upgrade? What made you buy this instead of oled?
If it weren't for the burn in issue with OLED I would get OLED again. Just bought this one for that reason and am more than happy with it. It's super close to OLED quality, though nothing beats the picture quality on the OLED.
Another great video ! There’s definitely a lot of casual gamers who pretend to be hardcore gamers when reviewing TVs : so your videos are a welcome change esp having a whole dedicated video to gaming for a tv - I think that’s great . I don’t think I’ll be going for a QN95 for my main tv but if there’s a good Black Friday sale I may pick it up for another room . I get the criticism that Samsung over price their TVs but I think they have so many frequent sales that it kinda cancels out
Thank you! Yeah I definitely didn’t mean to offend any content creators by saying that I respect the heck out of guys like Vincent Teoh and all the other great tv channels but I definitely think we need more gaming focused content for TVs since gaming is a big part of what screens are used for today thankfully it has been getting better. Your right too Samsung TVs always go on sale pretty early I noticed that through the years.
@@TechWithKG indeed . I feel like Vincent is very honest about how he doesn’t see himself as a gamer - whereas there’s other people in the AV community who try to jump on the gaming bandwagon . I myself am probably more of a casual gamer than a hardcore gamer - but I would still want my gaming tv info to come from a gamer because I feel like they will give much better information - I’m more of a gamer than a videophile even if I am quite casual in my gaming .
Yeah Vincent is honest and he’s funny about it. Yeah I definitely get that I would hardly classify myself as a hardcore gamer these days but I still do like to have the best picture possible when I do game.
I can only see two type of reviewers right now on RUclips. 1. Bashing this TV. 2. Love this TV. Leaving me as a consumer in a complete confused state. I will wait for rtings review for final decision.
I Bought an Aorus fv43u 43" gaming monitor and it's QLED with 4k at 144hz and 1ms input lag. Looks like a TV. Beats the Q90T that I have. Just wanted to mention it as a great gaming option.
@@Pipes61874 Oled is a great but if u have a tv like KS8000 i will choose that over oled if you only playing PS5,but if u want to experience OLED tv go ahead you have 15 days anyway to return it,
Just a reminder: You automatically have a BFI in Game mode which runs on a 120 hz frequency, activating LED Clear motion just reduces the frequency to 60.
In both cases the PVR 10 bit processor compensates this process with the larger bus rate on this TV's motherboard, couple that with the fact I have no idea what I am saying and it is an awesome looking TV.
@@TechWithKG Shouldn't the larger sizes also have more dimming zones so they might actually look even better. Thinking about buying the 65 inch qn95a. Anyway this was a really good video. Definitely much better than some others i've seen which have been overly negative.
@@jba2693 I know I actually didn't even know anything about this TV I just saw it when I was looking at the phones on Samsung website so I came to watch some reviews and it seems like nobody likes it you know the funny thing is I just spent $1,700 on a 82 in qled from Costco but it hasn't shipped yet so I can still change my mind until like next Wednesday so I started thinking I might as well look up some other TVs and you know make sure I'm making the right decision
Another great video. Glad to have a real gamer that cares about the best picture quality for gaming. I'm on the Series X with a 55 inch Samsung Q8FN. Has terrible uniformity issues though, so looking to upgrade. I hope you can get your hands on a LG G1 at some point for some comparisons to the QN90A. I feel like I'm going to go with that OLED, to get away from the DSE, but things can change lol. If I had the money, I'd buy both. I know how the Samsung works, and I have the brightness.
Great review..i have samsung q90r and game mod is too dim so i play in standard mode because i love high peak brightness, now im thinking to get this new qn90a
The new 2021 Qled looks amazing indeed, I just can't understand why Samsung only considered one single HDMI 2.1 4@120hz input, all the remain 3 inputs are 2.0...very different from LG Oleds, if you have a Xbox Series X and a PS5 you need an A/V receiver for it to link one single cable, other wise you need to connect/discnonnect each one...it's a no go!
What’s the black levels like on qled? I have had a 1080p tv for years and never experienced 4k. I was planning on getting an oled c1 but i really don’t want to be playing ps5 games and spending the whole time worrying if the map in the corner is burning in and then not wanting to put the tv back on for a while because i’ve just spent 2 hours on gta v. That being said i don’t want to buy a £1500 tv where the blacks are grey and washed out like the tv I currently have now, waste of money since i don 5 watch tv. I know oleds are absolutely amazing but like i said, i don’t want to be playing god of war and being like oh that health and manna bar has been on the screen for 45 minutes now.
Thankyou for this video. I was really looking forward to this tv until certain youtubers dissed it with their honesty. Now I threw the idea of this tv in the bin....up until the well known reviewers like Rtings gave it a really good review. So why are some "supposedly honest" tubers dissing it, and dissing it in favour of oled? And some of these tubers even praised the qled and dissed the oled for gaming a year ago? ....So why the qled hate now.....maybe lg have payed them heartily for their "honest" review.
I don't think anyones getting paid under the table, I think they just compare things to harshly compared to the OLED with challenging scenes that an LCD can't handle. It is kind of unfair because theres pros and cons to owning both but the cons are not talked about enough on the OLED such as being dim for a bright room, real scene brightness, ABL, potential vertical banding and crushed blacks.
@@TechWithKG I totally agree. I really dont think oleds for me in our environment despite the amazing contrast when the lights are dim. Nice to hear a channel.support Qled for all its strenghts in the real world. And youre so right about brightness looking real. A sunny scene just looks real on qled.
Awesome. Set the picture how YOU like it ! Spot on, and every source... game or movie is different. No such thing as set and forget. Unless you're stoopid ! 🤪
Are the issues that was on 2020series are stil present on qn90a? Dimming issue, scan lines and others? And how is dse on ylur model? This are a big questions for me because qn85a that i bought is losing with contrast and blacks with every tv i tested from half year.
Vincent Teoh had a video on the Q90T game mode, he measured that the most accurate you could get the EOTF and with highest peak brightness. Was; +3 ST-2048 LOCAL DIMMING HIGH ALWAYS contrast enhancer OFF I suspect we need something similar for the QN90A, try fool around with the ST-2048. You only notice local dimming high makes a difference in certain scenes, depending on APL and elements with high nits. But for HDR it should always be set up high!!!! VRR is broken on the Q90T, local dimming is completely gimped, the processing can't work that fast. I never use VRR for this reason. You need OLED for VRR.
This changed with the QN90A, and it actually changed with the Q90T via firmware right around the time the QN90A was released, and with the QN90B its actually different where you gotta lower the ST2084.
@@Lasse3 You can its a great TV but if you are not in a hurry I would wait for the QN90B to go on sale as its a much better TV overall especially in game mode.
@@TechWithKG yeah but a QN90B 75" is pretty expensive 😜 that's the whole point of getting last year's TV 👌😄😄 Ok no gun to your head, what 2021 TV in a 75" - 77" should i get for HDR gaming. Don't justify it, just go with your first instinct! I know you have a lot of practical experience sitting infront of all these TVs, and I like your way of thought, so your opinion matters to me.
I'm having a hard time deciding between the 55 qn90a or the 48 lg c1 for PC gaming monitor, I like how the qn90a can double as a ultrawide monitor and I also like the deep blacks if the oled, im in a medium to dark room. Any thoughts?
If you are in low bright room or dark room then you should definitely go with oled as qled meant for bright room, for me i so want c1 only burn in keep me away from oled still considering between these two
Good video.... the settings and review, more then ever , apply only to this size you have. The 65” and up QN90A all have different zone counts, and maybe even nits. This was annoying thing for me as 99%of reviews for the Q900R, my tv, lumped the only affordable sizes with the larger sizes that were much more money . Rtings is the biggest culprit as they refuse to say 75” and larger has 1000 extra nits. The 75” is a completely different set and hits 3200 nits 10% window calibrated, and 2700 nits in game, putting hdr pop only behind the z8h or z9g, but with no blooming in the bars. Anyway, this doesn’t look like much of an upgrade, but please post if you get a 75” or 85” QN90A , that could be interesting. Thanks
Thank you! This is somewhat true I agree but I don’t think that many extra zones will end up making a huge difference for the QN90A. Maybe for the 75 inch and higher but from what I’ve heard and seen the 65 definitely won’t be a huge noticeable difference minor at most.
Amazing review! Can't wait to get this Tv. I was just wondering will the QN90A come in a 75 inch, some stores in the UK only stop at 65 inch for this model. So I am confused as whether it comes in a 75 inch or do I have to move a model up to get a bigger screen? Can you please clarify?
I just really want to know, if there are any issues with local dimming or brightness in general or even picture quality in "Game Mode", can these things eventually be fixed with patch or software updates from Samsung like on previous televisions? I don't mind if these are issues now, as long as they can and will be fixable with updates, if anyone knows for sure?
Perhaps you could do a quick revisit of GMP with the qn90a and current 1904 firmware. Myself (and several users on AVS forums) can not get 30fps content to respond to 'judder' increase in settings and 60fps content looks only slightly better in response to increasing 'blur'. It appears that GMP on the qn90a is severely compromised with the current firmware? Appreciate your confirmation (or not)...
Awesome review and thank you. Question, so it looks like it only has One HDMI 2.1 port unfortunately. Is there a way that Samsung can do an update to have more than one HDMI port?
My CX9 had a fatal defect within 70 hours. LG doesnt have the consistency or longevity of a Samsung. Made a mistake trying to switch to LG but to each their own. I just feel LG is a gamble.
@@vincentindelicato9364 samsung also have some nasty stuff like horrible dse... its a panel lottery after all. U can get a bad panel on pretty much any brand.
Great review. I have the Q80R and Q90T, and I love how airplay 2 works on the 80R vs the 90T because it just instantly shows your content in full screen on the 80r as opposed to multi view on the 90T. How does it work on the Qn90a?
Not sure if you're able to test it, but using Game Motion Plus the Judder Reduction for 30 fps games seems to be broken. I got this TV in August because of all the great reviews and I love it except 30 fps games are unplayable with or without GMP enabled. I had my panel replaced today and it has the same issue. Researching the issue more today, people have been reporting that Judder Reduction works great on the Q90T, but doesn't work at all with 30 fps games on the QN90A. GMP with 60 fps games seems to work great, I've tested going back and forth between that and 120 fps and its pretty close with the exception of a little ghosting. I love the TV, but anything at 30 fps is a nauseating mess, it even gave the repairman a headache trying to watch me pan the camera in ffvii remake quality mode. Its the same in all games for me though on my PC and PS5. Just wondering what your take is on it and if you have the same issue with this TV. Great Videos by the way!
Thanks for the review man, amazing as always. I need ur advice in several points.. I got the ps5 and planning to get a suitable tv for that. 1- Which tv do u recommend for gamming on ps5 as priority since I'm a hardcore gamer and movies with subtitles? Oled c1, cx, or qled qn85a? For a bright room unfortunately. Unfortunately in Egypt we have only the Qn85a not the Qn90a. 2- What woupd be the average life time of oled till we get a burn in?
Thank you!!! To chime in on that yes it has more but I don’t know how much difference it will really make ultimately the algorithm that is controlling it matters much more than the actual zones, so maybe if that’s adjusted I’d say yes it makes a big impact but 55 to 65 probably no huge difference in the way it looks. 55 to 85 on the other hand could be when it’s really noticeable.
Nice review KG. I ended up getting the qn90 in 65 inch and did notice the movie mode flicker watching Daredevil on Netflix, putting it in standard mode got rid of it. Are you aware of any fix? Thanks
@@TechWithKGyea, for some reason the flicker is present with both movie and filmmaker mode. I have to use standard picture mode with warm 2 and gamma to + 1 to get a similar picture without the flicker. Also I'm with you on gamemode local dimming, I've tried to see where it's not as effective or if there's more blooming than without and haven't seen anything.
Were you able to run COD COLD WAR at 4K, 120fps with VRR on WITHOUT loosing HDR? I have the Q90T and as soon as I turn on VRR, HDR is lost and I get a lot of flickering in bright gaming situations, just like you showed on Sea Of Theives.
@@TechWithKG I am definitely in Game Mode with "Input Signal Plus" enabled.... I can run COD Cold War with 4K, 120FPS with HDR. BUT as soon as I turn on VRR on the Xbox Series X, it then removes HDR. The HDR logo disappears.. and you can clearly see the colors dim right down... the vibrant colors are gone. This has been doing this since day 1, also sometime when I start up Cold War and other HDR games like Sea Of Thieves and Forza 4, the screen will "pulse"... I then have to go to the settings on the XBOX series X, choose 60htz display, say NO so it reverts back to 120htz, then everything is OK. It's like the XBOX and the TV are not "shaking hands" properly together. And now I have about 5 dead pixels... thanks god I got the Best Buy Geek Squad warranty.
Did you out a different hdmi 2.1 certified cable? I know I heard ps5 and series x cables they shipped with have been reported as not being hdmi 2.1 in some cases.
Thanks for the comment. I no longer have the QN90A it was just in for review I have the Q90T still though and its great. What issues concern you for QN90A?
That’s a concern with any LCD TV pretty much rolling the dice any TV with uniformity not just LCD actually. I didn’t have any hdmi port issues. We’re they specifically saying what kind of issues with the ports?
Hi I having a problem, game motion plus is greyed out on xbox series x even i turned vrr off. And on ps4 pro i can adjust everything. But nothing changing. I know how it should look i had q9fn...
@@TechWithKG ok this cover grey out of this option ? But what with that thing that when its on its not changing motion? Maybe it is pannel fault? Thinking about q90t or qn90a. 90t is much afortable. But what with pq? Is it worth spending much more and go with 90a? And what with dse on which is worse? Your videos are great man. I have a possibly dumb question and I would GREATLY appreciate any help. I was setting up my new QN90A today. It has the 4 hdmi ports. One is 2.1 and three are standard hdmi. I can ONLY plug into the 2.1, whether it's my ps5, ps4, Xbox, cable box...anything I tried it will only plug into the one port. The other 3 absolutely do not fit. Should they not be all the same size? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I'm thinking it's a manufacturing defect. OR I'm a moron somehow messing it up. Help please!!
@@TechWithKG it doesn't unfortunately. I tried forcing it and they straight up don't fit. Strangest thing. I ended up calling Best Buy and they're gonna give me a new TV. Thanks for responding. You do great content. I've been subscribed for a while now and really enjoy the vids!

Can we play Dolby vision movies on Netflix on this tv? I know they don't support it, but at least they can show hdr 10+ quality when we see Dolby vision movies on qled?
Contrast Enchancer High destroys the colours and how they are meant to be viewed, I have it off. Local Dimming on Low as well, because the setting causes UI to actually disappear into the darkness. Try Skyrim UI's in a dark room and see how it dims and loses all saturation.
Literally everyone is trashing this TV but you lol. Also, ABL on Oleds only kicks in on 100% full field which is very rare. Explosions certainly do not cause ABL to kick in. I don't know... I've lost faith in Samsung after the disaster the Q90T turned out to be. My Samsung Q8FN literally wiped the floor with my Q90T which I returned a week after purchase. Good video though!
Thank you! I bet RTINGs won’t trash this TV. I understand if you had a bad experience it’s hard to go back. Unfortunately some Q90Ts weren’t all built the same one of the most polarizing sets released.
@@TechWithKG Here’s my history with Samsung, I bought a Q8FN - absolutely amazing tv without a doubt!! Then I bought the Q90R which was a noticeable step down!! What I mean by that? After calibration, the Q90R simply could not compete with the Q8FN, colours were inaccurate and definitely less punchy. I still kept the Q90R as it wasn’t a bad tv, although a noticeable step down from the Q8FN. I then bought the Q90T, and all I can say about that tv is just meh!! Noticeable step down from the Q90R after calibration. Even less punchy colours and even more inaccurate. The colour volume was not impressive at all for QLED standards. And please don’t get me started on the local dimming, both in game mode and outside of game mode. The algorithm was better I admit, but even that couldn’t make it competitive!! If you are after colour accuracy and pure colour volume, the Q90T is the worst by far out of the three tv’s... by far!!! And yea you are right, rtings wont mess up now because they now test local dimming in game mode. Not saying what you’re seeing is not true, but you really need to calibrate a tv to find out whether its good or not. Im sure the QN90A is better than the Q90T... it’s not hard to make a tv better than the Q90T... the question is... can it beat the Q8FN?? I hardly doubt that. And some of the first comparisons from quantum tv prove my point. Watch his videos. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying the QN90A this year to compare myself so all that is just speculation from my side based on history :) but yeah man, I do like your channel a lot and I do believe that you are being 100% honest in your videos... its obvious!! Buy 4k for the xbox series x. The 8k tv only upscale 4k to 8k for tv 65in or bigger. Xbox series x also up scales 4k to 8k only for tv that don't have upscaling to 8k. . So it doesn't make sense to mix a 8k tv with a xbox series x if you own a xbox series x. What is upscaling for? Well games and movies are only rated at 55in. So the stretching of the video cause blurry patches in the video. So the 8k AI fixes the blurry patches.. it doesn't actually play 8k. People can't see in 8k. The only true 8k tv is above $20,000.. plus...people can't see in 8k so the tv manufacturers want to change the colors faster. Too trick you. So there isn't any blurriness. You think you see more detail when in fact you see less blurriness.. it's all 4k.. you can't buy a 8k tv under 20k.. how many people got tricked into buying a 8k tv for xbox series x and Playstation is amazing.. BAIT and switch..

Is there something you can see that bothers you about the TV? Just because it’s IPS doesn’t mean it’s terrible just not as good at doing certain things as the VA panels. Black crush happens but it’s not often and you do have a shadow detail slider if your getting any black crush.
K are you able to play this tv in a bright room bro? I love your videos and I also will be buying this tv for gaming also. My QN90A if I buy it will be going into a bright room. Could you help this Canadian boy out?
@@TechWithKG yeah bud I have a Q90T and had massive blooming and when playing shooters I sometimes had vertical lines on the screen. So the store was great to come look at it and said they’d take it back and they gave me a credit. They highly suggested going with a LG CX. So they ordered me a 65” CX and only charged me 300$ more. So that tv will be here in a week but I’ve been very worried how it will perform in a brightish living room that it will be displayed. But like your videos show in the QN90A looks good gaming. I also have the Samsung HW-Q800T Dolby Atmos sound bar and wireless speakers and sub hooking upto the tv also.So if it was you... would you take the CX still or pay a bit more and snatch up a QN90A bud?
Hard to say CX isn’t going to be great for daytime viewing if you can’t control the light that comes in. However maybe you don’t have too much light coming in at your TV and you might be okay. How bright is the room?
@@TechWithKG I have 4 large windows down the right side of my room bud. And even with curtains drawn it’s still brighter then a natural bright room bud.
That is definitely concerning, did you get a lot of the rainbow effect on the Q90T with reflections and light or was it pretty good at handling your room?
i have ordered the 55qn90a and coming from a q90t. can you say anything about the scan line issue the q90t had? i could not run vrr at all because it was so annyoing. just sold my q90t and i really hope they fixed this issue. otherwise the 90t was brilliant
I didn’t really notice it on the QN90A while testing gaming so I don’t think it’s there but to be fair I never got bothered by it on the Q90T though I did really notice it once on the Q90T playing Ghost of Tsushima putting the tv into game motion plus fixed if for me. I am located I. The US too so maybe region plays a part so I can’t promise anything.
@@TechWithKG gmp is no option for me because i manly play cod and destiny and i bought the q90t for that exact reason. its the fastest lcd with about 10ms input lag. can yoû maybe test this and do a short video on this subject? the broken gamma and scanlines with vrr on really bothered me, and as i play at least 5-6 hours a day oled is no option either. my hope is with the new vrr premium pro this tv has this issues are fixed

Anything I missed in this video? Let me know by replying here. I’ll try to fit it in the actual QN90A full complete review!
What about dse on your model? My Q90T is a great tv but I hate dse especially during game like fifa, where is very noticeable. It’s not visible in many game, but now that I see it it’s became impossible to me not see it.
There’s some but I don’t notice it in content
Would it be better if I did a separate video testing uniformity separate from the review (of course I’ll mention DSE in the review)
About the black crush thing you were mentioning I feel very similar no one ever mentions there is a shadow detail slider to try to correct these things, it’s weird how some just say “yup it has black crush” but talk nothing beyond that.
This is a really good review. I mainly use my TV for gaming and most reviews only have gaming as a cliff note at the end of a video. Great stuff
Thank you! Yeah I really wanted to give something gamers can appreciate.
Thing is, when you're gaming, you really don't search for minor defects etc. If they doesn't really pop out, you don't even realize there was any "blooming" and so on.. i think this QN90A looks absolutelu stunning, really vibrant and colourfull picture.
Great point if you don't see it definitely dont go looking for issues, QN90A is my favorite gaming only TV.

Sounds like a great upgrade for sure I think you’ll love it, also thank you I appreciate the compliments!
I uograded from 65' q70R to 65' q90a, huge uograde and almost perfect black levels

I'm gettin this set in two days (65"). Can't wait. Thanks for puttin up this video, especially the tips about the different settings in VRR mode.

If it weren't for the burn in issue with OLED I would get OLED again. Just bought this one for that reason and am more than happy with it. It's super close to OLED quality, though nothing beats the picture quality on the OLED.
Definitely it is really close! That’s why so tell people just pick what fits your viewing environment the best and you’ll be happy with the choice.
Awesome video. Thanks for running through several different games. Mine shipped today. Looking forward to replaying Skyrim on it.
Thanks! Nice Skyrim is definitely fun enjoy!
Definitely understand that. I loved it but I did point out that it does have some issues. I didn’t see a ton of bashing just 1 or 2 people on RUclips.
I Bought an Aorus fv43u 43" gaming monitor and it's QLED with 4k at 144hz and 1ms input lag. Looks like a TV. Beats the Q90T that I have. Just wanted to mention it as a great gaming option.

That is a great deal!
Just a reminder: You automatically have a BFI in Game mode which runs on a 120 hz frequency, activating LED Clear motion just reduces the frequency to 60.
BFI isn't the same thing as the PWM frequency.
In both cases the PVR 10 bit processor compensates this process with the larger bus rate on this TV's motherboard, couple that with the fact I have no idea what I am saying and it is an awesome looking TV.
@@Cuthalu On samsung sets it is practically the same according to rtings.

If you bought OLED I think you will keep watch OLED and forgetting LED
buy LG OLED G1🤩
Samsung is the best with LED
LG best with OLED
I don't know if you mentioned this or not but Will you be keeping the TV?
The new 2021 Qled looks amazing indeed, I just can't understand why Samsung only considered one single HDMI 2.1 4@120hz input, all the remain 3 inputs are 2.0...very different from LG Oleds, if you have a Xbox Series X and a PS5 you need an A/V receiver for it to link one single cable, other wise you need to connect/discnonnect each one...it's a no go!
are there reliable hdmi 2.1 switches yet?
Yup I got a review of one on my channel it’s cheap but it hasn’t faultered yet
@@TechWithKG nice. I'll check it out.
Do i need A/v receiver if i only have ps5 no Xbox ?
Which tv would you recommend to get lg c1 or Samsung qn90a ?
What’s the black levels like on qled? I have had a 1080p tv for years and never experienced 4k. I was planning on getting an oled c1 but i really don’t want to be playing ps5 games and spending the whole time worrying if the map in the corner is burning in and then not wanting to put the tv back on for a while because i’ve just spent 2 hours on gta v.
That being said i don’t want to buy a £1500 tv where the blacks are grey and washed out like the tv I currently have now, waste of money since i don 5 watch tv.
I know oleds are absolutely amazing but like i said, i don’t want to be playing god of war and being like oh that health and manna bar has been on the screen for 45 minutes now.
does it have the capabilities to go to 60 fps with this game if the console can support it and does it have 120 hz?
thanks!
What game and shadow settings do you use for SDR content ?
How do you activate 120hz mode on this tv for ps5, my LG cx does it automatically this tv says port 4 for game so where is 120hz mode?
Are the issues that was on 2020series are stil present on qn90a? Dimming issue, scan lines and others? And how is dse on ylur model?
This are a big questions for me because qn85a that i bought is losing with contrast and blacks with every tv i tested from half year.
Vincent Teoh had a video on the Q90T game mode, he measured that the most accurate you could get the EOTF and with highest peak brightness.
Was;
+3 ST-2048
LOCAL DIMMING HIGH
ALWAYS contrast enhancer OFF
I suspect we need something similar for the QN90A, try fool around with the ST-2048.
@@TechWithKG so does that mean I can buy a QN90A? 😄

Ok no gun to your head, what 2021 TV in a 75" - 77" should i get for HDR gaming.
Don't justify it, just go with your first instinct!
I know you have a lot of practical experience sitting infront of all these TVs, and I like your way of thought, so your opinion matters to me.
QN90A probably
I'm having a hard time deciding between the 55 qn90a or the 48 lg c1 for PC gaming monitor, I like how the qn90a can double as a ultrawide monitor and I also like the deep blacks if the oled, im in a medium to dark room. Any thoughts?
If you are in low bright room or dark room then you should definitely go with oled as qled meant for bright room, for me i so want c1 only burn in keep me away from oled still considering between these two
I’m the same except deciding between the qn90a or aw3821 …
Is this tv better then the c1?
That's right my gaming settings do make me happy
Thank you! Yeah it definitely is available in 75 inch.
Any updates?
Answered my question . I Was wondering if the aspect ration worked on consoles. Thanks
Great review. Sounds like Samsung still has some work to do on the TV, so I guess I'll hold out for a future Gen or massive price drop.
Yeah unfortunately a lot of TVs are like this at launch. A lot of tech in general like to launch incomplete sadly.
@@TechWithKG Philips momentum M599 was just as disappointing. They are either greedy cash grabs or using the money to improve.
Great video once again thanks! Which would be your favourite all rounder non oled tv currently on the market?
I like this one or the q90t (only if your in the US because overseas models have issues) the most so far, but that could change through the year.
Thank you. No this is something they need new hardware for.
not bad at all but would def go with cx or the new g1 in a dark room.
hard to argue with an OLED for dark room!
Thank you. I haven’t tested it yet but I’m guessing Multi view. I’ll make sure to put that in the full review.
What game were you playing in the comparison at the end?
Great video as always!!
Thank you!
Is this better then the 2022 qn85b?
Did you ever get an answer?
Thanks for the review man, amazing as always.
I need ur advice in several points..
I got the ps5 and planning to get a suitable tv for that.
1- Which tv do u recommend for gamming on ps5 as priority since I'm a hardcore gamer and movies with subtitles? Oled c1, cx, or qled qn85a? For a bright room unfortunately. Unfortunately in Egypt we have only the Qn85a not the Qn90a.
2- What woupd be the average life time of oled till we get a burn in?
There is only a 5 year limited warranty on burn in for lg so that's not good
Awesome video. It's my understanding that the 65" has significantly more dimming zones than the 55". Is that correct?
Thanks
Have you tried filmmaker mode?
@@TechWithKGyea, for some reason the flicker is present with both movie and filmmaker mode. I have to use standard picture mode with warm 2 and gamma to + 1 to get a similar picture without the flicker. Also I'm with you on gamemode local dimming, I've tried to see where it's not as effective or if there's more blooming than without and haven't seen anything.
What switch were you using? I have been having a hard time finding a 4k120hz switch between my PC and Xbox.
No switcher it was a rocketfish hdmi splitter to split the same feed and it doesn't support HDMI 2.1 but it did split 4k 120hz though it had no hdr.

Yeah 4k 120hz hdr no issues. Weird my Q90T runs it no problem, are you outside of game mode?
Did you out a different hdmi 2.1 certified cable? I know I heard ps5 and series x cables they shipped with have been reported as not being hdmi 2.1 in some cases.

Thinking about q90t or qn90a. 90t is much afortable. But what with pq? Is it worth spending much more and go with 90a? And what with dse on which is worse? I must say, on 85a is very small amount of dse. But those blacks are big no to me
Great video man! Was wondering if you could do a video on the Multiview feature. Ideally, I’d like to be able to play my ps5 while watching Netflix
I’ll have a feature on multi view in the full review I’ll test this for you. Last year Q90T couldn’t do that unless you used airplay for Netflix.
I know Netflix does not support multiview. But you can watch youtube while gaming
Awesome vid buddy. If Sonys X90J LED wont blow this away. I will definetly buy the QN90A come BF 👍🏻
Oh, I allways lower the gamma. Best for a dark room by far IMO 😁
Thank you! I don’t think X90J is coming close to this TV to be honest . Last year x900h wasn’t a contender to the Q90T either.
X95J does intrigue me it’ll be be interesting to see how it performs.
Yeah you are right guys. The 900H was total crap IMHO, and thats why I never consider it 👎
Heck I had the X9005E - 2017 model, and that was way better in HDR for e.x!
Yeah hard to see the x90jbeing much better since they will be trying to push x95j hard this year but we will see.
@@TechWithKG Yep and I just read over Reddit. Some chinese have it and done a vs 90H comparison. Seems like Absolutly nothing is better. I mean just wow wtf ...LOL!
First Samsung with their bigledown for a Joke X85A = POS garbage IPS panel. Oh man this Tv year are getting worse and worse 👎
And the LG EVO, hah yeah that is a joke also. And of course the cheaper CX = pretty much the same None progression since years and years back!
Well what is there else - upcoming TCL MiniLED right?
Well well it really seems like there is no brainer. It's QN90A and nothing else, to write home about!
How is this tv compared to the Q8fn?
I would say QN90A is definitely better by a wide margin. QN8FN is a great TV though.
Did you notice any ghosting/color trails while moving in games? I have a Q80R now and is pretty good for gaming except for the annoying ghosting issue. I don't want to buy another samsung if it has the same issue.
I tested for ghosting issues and I found zero. No reports of ghosting from the community either.
is 50 inch of qn90a supports 120 hz?
Could just be tight ports my OLED was like that, does it almost feels like you gotta use a little force break them in?
@@TechWithKG it doesn't unfortunately. I tried forcing it and they straight up don't fit. Strangest thing. I ended up calling Best Buy and they're gonna give me a new TV. Thanks for responding. You do great content. I've been subscribed for a while now and really enjoy the vids!
Wow that is super weird, I never heard this happen you should take a video and post it before returning that’s pretty unusual! Good luck with your replacement. Thank you btw!
@@TechWithKG Right? So weird. I was like well this is just my luck haha. I love the TV otherwise, so I'm hoping 2nd time is a charm. Thanks again.
@@TechWithKG I got this figured out. Thought you might like to know in case it came up with any other of your viewers. The prongs inside ports 1-3 were slightly angled. I adjusted them (carefully) and now they all work totally fine, so I don't need a new TV anymore. Day 2 with this TV and I'm LOVING it. Your review was one of the main reasons I went with it. Thank you!
But I would recommend calibrating your TV’s
@@loki76 well, I’ve tested my Q8FN with the Q90R and the Q90T and got very similar results. So in my books he is legit.
@@loki76 also, he’s not affiliated with any company out there so I doubt he has any reason to lie... unlike hdtv test who is secretly sponsored by LG!!
Blooming clearly noticeable in that skyrim shot.
From the side yes in person it was but head on no blooming. Camera definitely made it look worse though. That said how often is someone gaming from the side though?
I know I’m late to the party but I am returning a sony x90j because i noticed a bad input lag. I am picking up the qn90 when i return it. I really hope theres a difference cause im trying to beat sifu and it threw my timing way off at first lol. Call of duty was about unplayable as well
How you like the qn90? I really wanted another Sony but according to rtings all their input lag pales in comparison to Samsung or Lg Oled. If the Qn90 still feels a bit laggy, then I'd bite the bullet and get an Oled while risking the burn in. I mostly play rocket league and Cod where fps and smoothness really matter.
@@bpaw_6297 ive had it since about February and man its nice. You won’t go wrong. Input lag is great and its beautiful. It’ll feel like high quality gaming but with the additional option to go to 120 fps which was GAME CHANGING. If you’re still on the fence, do it. Im sure they’re cheaper now too than when i paid. And this is coming from someone who pretty much only plays warzone now and didn’t start till i got that tv and had the higher fps lol
@@bpaw_6297 you’re gonna need a soundbar too just fyi
@@KaneNabis appreciate the feedback! I actually bought and returned a C1 before I noticed your reply. I couldn't justify oled pricing because it felt the same as my $180 benq monitor. I'm gonna jump at an open box deal now for half the price of C1 and get the soundbar. Cheers!
@@bpaw_6297 yeah man! I was choosing between the c1 and qn90 but ended up doing the qn90 so i didn’t have to worry about potential screen burn in. I game more on pc now for fps but i still play everything else, especially sports and open world games, on that tv and its BEAUTIFUL. Good luck with whatever great tv you choose!!
Nice video, can you compare this against CX or 90T last year, thanks.
I did a comparison video with 90T vs QN90A its the video I uploaded right before this one. Im working on getting an OLED soon.
@@TechWithKG Are u getting Oled C1 or A90J?
Any news on when will XBOX Series X will support Freesync Premium Pro? My tv only shows me Freesync Premium on the game bar.
Same not sure if it’s supported just yet
how is dse or vertical banding?
In your previous video you said q90t is better in terms of brightness than qn90a, but in this video you said it's the brightest TV..
Awesome livesteam
Hey KG. Best regards from Turkey!
I like your videos and trust your opinions. You said in one of a video you have oled also. Is it possibble you make a side by side video of oled & qn90a ..
I had lg c7 but cause of burn in ı return it and now planning to buy qn90a but also afraid for if qn90a has a worse picture than c7.
Your opinion and video would help me lot.
Thank you already. Take care of yourself good buddy.
If you can return C7 and collect money back then best solution for you to take New G1 and after burn in you collect again money back.....
@@trumpameri1638 thanks for answer, ı thought same too but ı dont want live same stress again that it gonna burn or not. I just want to watch my tv this time without worry. I just wonder how would qn90a perform compare to c7.

I came from a 7 oled to the Q90T definitely not a worse picture on the QN90A, very comparable its just brighter and better colors. You might run into occasional blooming depending on the content you watch though.
Same as me I have a CX Oled and was very caring but I got burn in and all AC Valhalla and PES logos have burnt on screen. I was always caring. So I am considering buying this TV. I dont want ro be stressed about my TV usage
I have one question. PS5 now supports VRR. But I'm only getting 4k 120fps hdr, no vrr in game bar. Can someone help me.

Thanks. Yeah I might do that or the G1 I’m working on getting one of those in.

@@barracuda7366 C1 are same TV like CX..... only G1 have higher brightness level
Thx for this Review. I'm looking for the QN95A Samsung TV. I'm going to use this TV for Movies and Gaming (PS5). Can you say something about the Local dimming issue regarding HDR and Subtitles with for Example NETFLIX movies (screens lights up when subtitles appear with HDR movies).
Nice! QN95A is just about the same TV so your in the right place. I haven’t tested that but I can for the final review. Any Netflix sub titles?
@@TechWithKG If you could test this that would be very nice. For example the Netflix serie OZARK (dark scenes). Thanks in advance.
Ozark with subtitles?

My one question is, could I get 120 FPS using a ps4 pro
Nope
Yes you can!! You can turn on Samsung's Game Motion Plus feature and it automatically puts a 4k60hz game into 4k120hz picture!! Its really a game changer!!
Can you reduce brightness in game mode?
Yeah you definitely can
Too bad this QN90A only has one hdmi 2.1 port....what was Samsung thinking?
Only LG really has more than 1 (Sony is 2 but one is probably being used by most for eARC) so it’s probably a parts issue more than anything
@@TechWithKG Well the qn95a which has the one connect box has 4 hdmi 2.1 ports. Not sure why it isn't coming out to the us but really glad i live in europe so i will be getting it.
LG OLED CX or This new Samsung ?
Samsung
LG C1. Better TV overall!!!
120hz is not enough, today gaming displays go as high as 500hz. Is there way to overclock safely refresh rate or faster Neo QLED monitors? I'd rather have lower resolution or lower graphics settings.
There is a new Firmware update (version 1903) out in Europe...
I'm still trying to decide between this and the LG C1 for black friday. Every time I think I have it decided, I watch another video and I'm flip flopping to other side. I feel like which ever one I pick I can't really go wrong. Wish the Samsung had more HDMI 2.1 inputs though...

Is there something you can see that bothers you about the TV? Just because it’s IPS doesn’t mean it’s terrible just not as good at doing certain things as the VA panels. Black crush happens but it’s not often and you do have a shadow detail slider if your getting any black crush.
Omg glad I chose oled
K are you able to play this tv in a bright room bro? I love your videos and I also will be buying this tv for gaming also. My QN90A if I buy it will be going into a bright room. Could you help this Canadian boy out?
Yeah definitely this is the perfect daytime TV more than 1800 nits in game mode so it’ll definitely be one of the best if not the best bright room TV.
You have some kind of NDA to not show details about 21:9 and 32:9 modes? :)
Nah lol I just don’t have the ability to show case them, you have to have a capable gaming PC at the moment . I would of definitely showcased it!

I didn’t really notice it on the QN90A while testing gaming so I don’t think it’s there but to be fair I never got bothered by it on the Q90T though I did really notice it once on the Q90T playing Ghost of Tsushima putting the tv into game motion plus fixed if for me.
