  • In this video I will show you how to release the golf club & fix your chicken wing once and for all. This video is a step by step guide that will ensure you have the perfect release for your golf swing.
    A lot of amateurs suffer from a chicken wing were the lead arm breaks down through impact, starts to scoop and ultimately it is very hard to have any consistent ball striking in this move. There are lots of reasons why you can chicken wing including a steep downswing and an open clubface to name two. If you're looking to reduce your handicap then you must release the club correctly. If you watch the best players in the world you will see them have an amazing release which produce a fast, accurate and repeatable golf swing.
    In this video I will take you through a guide that will teach you how to move your lead arm correctly in the downswing and through impact. As well as this I will show you how to have the correct amount of shaft lean by being able to square up the clubface and have great width in the follow through.
    By fixing a chicken wing and improving your release you will see much better ball striking, more consistent ball then ground contact, more distance and accuracy. If you can do this then you will play better golf and your scores will start to lower fast!

    Hi Everyone, thinking of doing a new video series where I analysis a Tour Pro’s swing and pick out 1 detail that I think everyone could benefit from. I would then go into detail on how you can incorporate it into your swing. Let me know your thoughts and if you’d like to see this?

    Hey Giles. Thanks for the video. Would love to hear you talk about how this is mainly caused by our backswing and lack of hand and hip depth. We chicken wing in an effort to square the face because we come in too steep due to lack of depth. Our brains make us do that without us even realizing it. All of the things you talk about in the downswing pretty much happen automatically if the backswing is correct with the hands at the proper depth (among some other things in the backswing). What do you think?

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  11 месяцев назад

      Already spoken about this in other videos. But also as I stated in the video this was designed to train how to move the forearms ASSUMING everything else was in place

  • @mikerodrick2430

    Some people really can't tell they're chicken winging because the swing is full speed through impact & happens too quickly. We've all seen the object under the front arm as a drill but worked better for me is using the object between your elbow & ribs. Even if you chicken wing the object can stay between the upper arm & chest whereas if the elbow separates away from the rib cage or hip, it'll definitely fall out. That's what worked for me.

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  10 месяцев назад

      Be careful you don’t put it too low or the club will drag inside

    is this considered “timing the release” for a square club face through impact?

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  Год назад +1

      Timing the release is something different. Every release has to be timed it’s just some rely on timing more than others
